When Dose KPS2 Start in 2020
ArtemisAZ replied to Auss Space Program's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
For your first dose of KSP2 I would take 200mg then following that take a smaller 100mg the following days for a week. 50mg twice a day, and you should be good. Hope this helps. -

How can they get far in a DLC if they're not even actively considering developing it?- 77 replies

Lost in Space expansion pack for KSP 2

Yes and a lot of people are telling you that you're not going to get very far in campaigning them to make a DLC based around this.- 77 replies

Don't panic until we have good enough reason to panic. I can think of like 40 reasons immediately off the top of my head but lack of KSP2 updates is probably not one of them although who knows. Star Theory is still in really early stages of development with this game and I think right now they're trying to get it to a stage that when they show off stuff it will be more up to standard with community expectations. The slow drip stinks I know but hey give it time.

Lost in Space expansion pack for KSP 2
ArtemisAZ replied to GroupJW's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
You could probably commission somebody to make the parts for you as a mod or even a ship made from stock parts. Don't think the Forum rules explicitly state that paying for mods would be illegal as long as it's consensual between the two parties. Throwing money at things is how I solve 90% of my problems. Except the IRS problem of course cause the day I give them a penny is the day I stop making irresponsible life choices and believe me that will never happen. I told you funding isn't the issue here, it's community demand and how it interferes with the established meta of KSP. Besides hate to break it man but I'm estimating that more then 90% of the community most likely unaware of the franchise or the 1998 movie in particular and those who are probably wouldn't have a huge jolt to buy a DLC based around something that doesn't give them a lot of potential to use for anything else then recreating the Jupiter 1 or 2. You're banking on the community demand to be there but there's just not enough to justify it. edit. can't wait for a mod to show up for me mentioning the IRS.- 77 replies

Lost in Space expansion pack for KSP 2
ArtemisAZ replied to GroupJW's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
I just told you why they can't man. There's not a lot of incentive nor community desire to see something like this. Also never explicitly said you had to develop these things man, I'm just telling you there's not a lot of reason why Star Theory would go out of their way to create something this specific. That gives me an idea- 77 replies

Lost in Space expansion pack for KSP 2
ArtemisAZ replied to GroupJW's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
The licensing isn't the problem here my man, it's the actual concept of the DLC that presents a unique situation that really doesn't make sense for Star Theory to go towards. Licensing is one problem yes but I think you might be missing the point I am trying to make with how I said it departs from what the *Core* of KSP is. Branded DLC especially for something that really doesn't hold a lot of relevancy today. It's like asking Star Theory to make an entire DLC based around Galaxy Quest or Alien. Also nothing is explicitly impossible in KSP, you can definitely make these parts in stock to the point you won't really need a specialized DLC for them. Really all anybody needs to make something in KSP is a dash of initiative, a pinch of persistence, and a reputable local dealer with a hefty supply of methylphenidate- 77 replies

Lost in Space expansion pack for KSP 2
ArtemisAZ replied to GroupJW's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
No I mean with the actual parts you're gonna be provided in the base game, you'd be surprised just what sort of weird contraptions and recreations you can throw together just with a bit of tweakscale (provided KSP2 actually gets it) and insane amounts of part clipping. I made a couple really decent looking Metal Gears with just stock parts and tweakscale so if you sit down and plan out what you want to build you can probably nail a pretty good recreation of whatever you want to make. Also like I said, this film is still pretty specific and obscure that Star Theory wouldn't have the incentive to add it. It departs from what KSP is.- 77 replies

ArtemisAZ replied to GroupJW's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
This seems really specific for Star Theory to add, licensing stuff aside. Don't really see any big incentive for them adding a dedicated DLC from something so relatively obscure. It's not broad enough to really fit the meta of what KSP goes for as parts like this would not synergize (god that word is pretentious sounding) well with anything else. You could probably have no trouble recreating any of the stuff from the movie in KSP2 though so hey skies the limit- 77 replies

totm dec 2019 What crimes against Kerbin have you committed?
ArtemisAZ replied to crasher925's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Oh dear, welp lets list them off before Kinterpol shows up again. I am responsible for 2... maybe 84 counts of genocide in Kermenia. I was involved in the ethnic cleansing of Kosnians in Kerbia after the fall of Kugoslavia, which I also profited heavily from that as I sold arms to both sides of the war. I sold enriched Keranium to North Kerbeans as well as he payload vehicles for nuclear warheads. But way before that I was involved in Kazi Regime's KK advanced projection division and managed the funding for the Kehrmacht's K2 rocket bombs. After the war when was I supposed to be put on trial in Kuremberg for some certain activities I undertook in the KK specifically involving the unholy biomechanical synthesis of Kerbal and rocket with the help of a certain Doctor Kengele but the Katican gave me protection and helped me escape to South Kermerica with the false identity and some really lovely pamphlets regarding the Katholic religion. Eventually I got bored of being farmer there and defected to the Koviet Union where I assisted keneralissimo Kosef Kalin in his internal purges of his underlings who insulted his mustache. Few decades later it collapsed and I was out of a job but I was able to get a small part time thing with this really weird dude named Kaddam Kussein and the less I talk about that the better. Aaaaand I think I still have an unpaid Parking ticket in Kibya. Oh and I was the inventor of the method of making hotdog buns and hotdogs come in two separate amounts. 2 years later and I'm running Kerbin's most uh... somewhat successful space program. -

i Can guarantee this, I've obliterated 40% more Kerbals with 1.8 per hour compared to previous versions -
As a lover of Chemical Warfare chemistry I was pondering up in my noggin that it would be mighty neato burrito if KSP2 will have or will at the very least consider adding the option to let players make their own fuel mixes to use in spacecraft. There's been mods in the past that simulated this by adding various types of fuel that you can stick into your rocket and watch it go. While this is all fine, dandy and all that what I want to see is something a little more complex then that and giving players more control of the Boom-Juice and what types and ratios of fuel they can add each with unique effects that correspond to real life chemistry (provided in a Kerbalized fashion so more fictional parody chemicals then actual ones). For example let's say you accidentally swapped out the tank of Kerbalox for a tank of unstable Keranium and added it into the fuel mixture that would be on your rocket, instead of causing the rocket to blast off high into the heavens it instead does the same thing only in very small pieces. Having the ability to experiment with this sort of stuff would be great fun and could probably get the kiddos that will eventually play KSP2 through High School chemistry. cause trust me that Chemistry was hell beyond compare and I will never forgive Ms.Johnson for taking away my gameboy >:(

Gotta admit that did tickle my sides a bit. Fairly certain KSP has been around since the beginning of when humanity understood that if you throw a rock, it goes somewhere else. He's a sentient banana man, man. You try living in that sort of state and not feeling inclined to destroy any joy that materializes inside of you

I never liked this stereotype logic of "9 Year Olds will ruin X because of Y reason and that they're young and therefor won't understand the niche". This hasn't happened on regular ol KSP and I very much doubt it will change with KSP2 even if they take a much more harder approach to advertising the game, hell I encourage younger generations of potential Kaboom Enthusiasts Junior Aerospace Engineers to help jump aboard the giant boat we strapped SRB's to. Even if they don't get a lot of the core physics there's still a lot of potential to learn and set them on the path to wanting to figure this all out. Plus you don't have to be a rocket scientist to enjoy KSP for what it is, I was enjoying this game since I was a wee 11 year old ingesting large amounts of glue and putting crayons up my nose and I still thought KSP was the coolest thing ever despite not understanding 0.00001% of it and I just enjoyed making things go boom because suppressed pyromania or something. Just have faith in those darn kids these days with their fartknights After all - How hard can Rocket Science be anyways?

Given the sheer scope of KSP2 and all the systems they're going to be adding, would the Unity engine hold the game back in some way? It's a great engine don't get me wrong but I feel like compared to other contemporary engines available Unity just seems like an odd choice and that it lacks the "Under The Hood" capabilities of others. Of course my knowledge on the actual deeper workings of these engines are as non-existent at best so I'm probably making a huge generalization. I just don't want to go another sleepless week worrying about KSP2 not living up my level of internalized Hyper-Hype because of engine issues.

I don't exactly trust myself or the KSP community at large with having access to nukes. In the words of General Tsing Shi Tao "The Glow! The Wonderful Glow!"

I'm not liking the fact this is subtly implying KSP is capable of dying. Was KSP ever alive? Is KSP sentient to some degree? Does it have freewill and is aware of it's own existence? Does it want to scream but doesn't have access to a mouth? Am I legally allowed to marry it in the State of Kalifornia? Why does it burn when I pee? The world may never know the answer.
