  1. with the EUS the SLS might have " a tiny, tiny, tiny, bit of sense, not too much thoug
  2. Am I the only one that is relieved that the modes of failure get more stupid by the times? Like is no design flaw, just someone who forgot "that switch" or something like that ( in the last years at least, not counting the dm-1 capsule explosion)
  3. here in Italy, especially in Lombardy we are at around 15-20% in the same metric ( donors that are positive)
  4. look at were i live ( Italy), you need a full month of quarantine to start seeeing real results
  5. i know, and still, 1 week seems a lot to me,usually they do it 2-3 days before, especially with starlink satellites
  6. sunny, with high probability of tweetstorm. I'm very curious of what they are coming up with, we will see probably with sn 5-6, so 1-2 months away
  7. Am I the only one who is curious why they did this static test so much before the normal flight? Are they maybe diluting the times so that less people are around at the same time? That's great, it will be a nice birthday gift for me ( 29th of may). I think that they choose the 27th so that the launch window is at a time where the coverage of the media will be maximised ( USA ofc and EU, but it should be a great time window also for China and our friends down under)
  8. starlink-6 rescheduled for: April 23 19:16 UTC (3:16PM local EDT)
  9. https://spaceflightnow.com/2020/04/13/bridenstine-says-crew-dragon-could-launch-with-astronauts-at-end-of-may/ end of may launch window for dm-2, it might slip into june but not by much and exolaunch ( Europe) will launch on the rideshare mission fo december https://spacenews.com/exolaunch-spacex-rideshare/
  10. starlink 6 delayed to an April "TBD" ( to be determined)
  11. no, the orbital refuelling is not that hard, at least not the part of the boiloff, in the vacuum is not that big of a problem, especially when your propellent is highly pressurized. Orbital refuelling should happen butts-to-butts, only a pair at the time. They will do it with little poof of trust, but we don't know how much time it will be needed. The centre raptor, who can steer, have from what i have seen some stupid amount of vector control ( 15-19° if i'm not mistaken)
  12. from the gateway selection process: As somebody following SpaceX for half a decade, this feels good to read in an official NASA report. It begins to put to bed the argument old space used to justify their higher prices. Past performance here doesn't really mean how good their rockets are, but how good they have been at keeping their word when it comes to government contracts. and that, to me, seems like the best definition to use when negotiating a new contract.
  13. i think that this qualifies as the most kerbal landing in history, maybe beaten only by that f15 who landed wihtout a wing. i0m impressed that the leg didn't brake or that the rocket didn't tipped over
  14. Finally, as everyone expected, a little bit of common sense ( and a nice pr stunt) It's also true that Boeing just go a 17 billion dollars bailout, now that is for the entire company to avoid bankruptcy, but saying that they won't use these money for this launch would be disingenuous
  15. Italy is slowly going down in cases and especially icu patients ( 3rd day in a row) especially considering that we are doing more tests by the day, but mortality remains high. Luckily Rome ( where i live in) and other big cities of the south aren't heavily affected. we may start some reopening on the 18th of April, but the majority of activities will probably reopen the 2nd of may with schools that probably will reopen only next year (september 2020). edit: hoping that the trend will continue
  16. https://mobile.twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1246701851585794048 New raptors!
  17. *on his own rocket power° why waste time calling when you can see who is not working his ass off?
  18. we are starting to get into "stupid numbers" territory of payload, and i'm super happy for it!!
  19. I think that it might be' cheaper to use the starship than ti creare a kick stage, especially when you have it already in orbit This time I ninjaed you ( and with some margin)
  20. "JAXA astronaut, Noguchi Soichi, currently preparing and training for the ISS Expedition, will start training to board the first operational Crew Dragon under development by Space-X. The flight schedule will be announced when it is determined." https://global.jaxa.jp/press/2020/03/20200331-1_e.html I don't get if he will join the 2 american astronaut from the "demo 2" mission or it will be the next capsule
  21. He said it on twitter, but you will have to dig a lot to find it, it's at least a 2 years old statement
  22. Germany is for sure under representing his cases and death. From the start of the year they had 80k+ pneumonia cases more than other years and the other thing is that they count the death for coronavirus only if they had only that disease and not like all the others who consider people dead from corona even if they have other diseases
  23. yeap, i was thinking too at a " side booster barge landing, centre core expended" configuration
