  1. @Squad @Take Two @Biltworks OK [snip] enough is enough. 3 weeks and not a [snip] console update? [snip] We've asked nicely, no response We've asked firmly, no response We've sat in the back of the room quietly asking for a little recognition and an explanation for your lack of transparency regarding the console version. and have been told by fanbois that we were out of line, no response from you developers. the game is still not working correctly... and year two is fast approaching. it's obvious your neglect is deliberate, you got our money, HA HA HA, joke is on us! etc. I'm not going to be polite about this any more. your mods can remove this post, and ban me if they wish (and probably will) but if you are going to treat us like crap, I reserve the right to do the same in return.
  2. it seems the sarcasm and irony are lost on you my boy. I'm a console player. and as a console player, we ARE de facto second class citizens of the community. 1. We started off with a broken game and it took 1.5 years to rectify. with very little communication from the developers. 2. the product we were given after the reboot was still broken, albeit somewhat less so. with very little communication from the developers on the path to fixing it 3. meanwhile during the weekly updates, the PC version gets multiple paragraphs with details of all the really nifty stuff that they are doing to the game, we are lucky if we got a single canned paragraph stating "we are working on the problems" 4. none of the developers (squad) or console port team (biltworks) will commit to saying if we will get the 1.4 update (and the new stock features within) OR a shot at buying the making history expansion (and the new parts they have been touting for the past 12 months) as far as console is concerned we've been guaranteed a stable game, in the version that it was released in. that is it. 5. the PC players here seem to be most concerned with telling me I'm out of line for being POed and voicing my disapproval at the lack of communication, lack of transparency and the overall poor condition of the game that I spent my money on. Don't get me wrong - I love KSP, and If I had a PC that could run it, I'd buy it again and run it there, and get all the good stuff.but I can't justify buying a better computer just to play 1 game. console is what I have, and console is how I intend to play.I just want what I paid for: a stable version of Kerbal Space Program. when KSP came to console under FTE, it was touted as being the same version as the original. now, 1.5 years later... this is NOT what we got. if what I paid for was "KSP lite" due to the limited capabilities of console hardware, then Squad and Biltworks need to just be honest and say so.reps from both companies view these forums - and as yet I've not received ANY feedback from them. only PC players that tell me I'm out of line.
  3. I foresee youtube videos of horrific meat grinders... it is obvious nothing good for Kerbal kind will come of this. DEVELOPERS, YOU MUST DO THIS!!
  4. Would love to as you so subtly put it, "buy the DLC" you DO know that there is an underclass user base that doesn't have the luxury of ever getting to use "mods" and has no current, or confirmed planned option to "buy the DLC" Right? so my point stands... keep complaining about all the good work that Squad does by whining about how the ram air parachutes are backwards, and are anachronistic, and new parts are the wrong color etc. you are lucky to have what you have... enjoy your game.
  5. well, at least you have the parachutes... some of you guys find the most petty things to winge about.
  6. didn't they just introduce some radial fuel tanks with this expansion? the Baguette and the Bun or dumpling or whatever? dono - I can't have any of this stuff... but I swear I thought they added some LFO radial tanks?
  7. cool, not even a truncated single paragraph on the( still not fully functional, and out of date) Console version this week... you guys keep up the good work communicating with ALL your customers over there...
  8. Scott manly confirms, "dont take that as an offical statement" (I point blank asked if it was in the comments section) And your link contains information about the release of enhanced edition, nowhere does it say if the enhanced edition will receive content updates or expansions. Ive taken the development teams statements about support to mean patches and stability updates will ocurr. You are damn right my cornflakes are salty, did you pay for a game a year and a half ago the was utterly broken? And then get another seriously broken version of it on re release? Do the weekly blog updates for your version mainly consist of single paragraph of canned response? No? I thought not.
  9. source? you don't seem to have the little orange tag that says "SQUAD staff" under your name that would indicate you actually know that... so forgive me if I remain skeptical. since for the life of me, despite searching for information to the confirm it on the web... I have not seen anything of an "official: nature that says the developers have committed to doing exactly that. now, the guy in the post above this one... he could (probably) answer my question (if he's permitted to by his corporate masters) .. question is... Will/Can he?
  10. so, Squad/Biltworks/Take Two /whomever... do you intend to bring the console edition up to date with 1.4? or are we just supposed to be happy with the flawed, out of date piece of junk that you foisted off on us (again) as the so called KSP "enhanced edition" inquiring minds want to know. we already know you prefer to ignore the console guttersnipes... but hey what the hell, I might as well make a nuisance of myself until your community mods ban me, or answer my (really quite simple and very reasonable, I think) question. look on the bright side - at least I'm not pouting about how the 1.4 jet engines don't sound right, or the new textures don't match my shoes, or any number of other silly complaints I've read so far in this thread... so at the very least you can maybe throw me and my second class brethren a bone eh?
  11. yep, can't move craft files, can't do custom flags, can't use mods, (not the developer's/owners fault... this is an issue inherent to consoles, and to be expected even though it sucks.) can't get a straight answer if version updates will be made to keep us at near parity with the PC version, can't get a straight answer if expansions will be made available. (stuff DEFINITELY WITHIN THE DEVELOPERS/OWNERS PURVIEW, and DON'T TELL ME IT HASN'T BEEN DISCUSSED INTERNALLY... every facet of the game's development for the next few years has been planned. fine details likely remain to be hashed out, but the basic road map? THEY KNOW. ) All we see for consoles is Whole lotta "Can't"... very little "Can" but hey, once again they have reiterated "a commitment to continue supporting Enhanced Edition." no one at TT, SQUAD or Biltworks will discuss what exactly what that support actually entails, or what future plans are... but they are committed to "IT"! meanwhile, look at all the new shiny stuff YOU console gutter snipes WON'T get!! aren't we cool! new space suits, a pile of new parts, personal parachutes... but only for the chosen. you dupes that paid full price for a broken game a year and a half ago... will get a stable out of date game... maybe... Some day... when we feel like it. and you irritated fellows, know your place and listen to the fanbois that tell you you are out of line... because reasons. That's good? right... RIGHT?!
  12. I don't think it can be done on PS4, sadly. there is no obvious UI to do this, and since it's PS4 - you don't really have access to the craft files like one does on PC, so you can't drop it from one folder to another. it kinda sucks - as sandbox is the ideal place to do RandD/simulations for career.
  13. ok, so we have a page and a half of a discussion about how the UI to change the kerbal's suits isn't optimum... lol... first world problems. and a developer actually got involved... part of the discussion even. so, what are we doing for consoles? the patch is last weeks news, "to see the patch notes click here" yeah - we got that already I waited a week for a rehash of last week's weekly update? that's all you care to share with us? how about letting us know IF the making history expansion is part of the plan for consoles? failing that, at the very least how about letting us know when you plan to patch some of the minor issues that didn't seem to get fixed in the patch? I love being a second class citizen... whaaaa? wuzzat? crickets... its probably crickets I hear. those precision controls work yet?
  14. level select and 10 lives code for Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles on NES: B, A ,B, A up,down B ,A right, left B, A , Start for a two player game hit select before you hit start.
  15. I want my node/surface attach gizmo back in the SPH/VAB... its a real pain in the engine nozzle to be trying to put something like a satellite onto a docking port in a cargo bay or stack fuel tanks horizontally on the sides of a hull and the darned thing won't snap to a node. NO!!! you infernal machine, I want that science junior on the interior bulkhead node... not all cattywumpus on the floor! that gizmo made it ALOT easier to put things where I wanted. oh, yeah - I also would like precision controls to actually WORK... because loading 15G on a plane at Hypersonic speeds is a really DUMB idea. all I really want is to pitch up 5 degrees... not try to do a 16 kps Pugachev Cobra! FYI, when you turn on precision flight controls the pitch/yaw/roll indicators turn blue...like they are supposed to... and stop taking control inputs... which they aren't.
  16. when you start a new game, in the section where you can set custom difficulty there is a checkbox for advanced tweakables. check it. you'll get the option to auto strut components with a right click in the SPH or VAB (think of it as internal structural reinforcement)meaning those floppy wings and rockets that needed liberal applications of "space tape" can be made rigid without the unsightly bars everywhere. you'll also get the option to observe and adjust fuel flow and distribution throughout your craft (you can set which tanks get used first etc.) pretty helpful, and can be a boon to keeping vehicles stable as the fuel consumes. there might be some other things it does - but I can't recall off the top of my head. I build alot of SSTO space planes, autostrut is excellent for that...
  17. If this behaviour is indeed due to using advanced tweakables... Yes it is still "game breaking" to turn off needed features to stabilize your game. Stop settling for garbage, and raise your voice a little.
  18. I'd say if you can, wait a bit longer, or if you want it all NOW... go PC. incidentally... your friend was pretty wise to tell you to wait. I cannot in good conscience recommend the console version of this game AT THIS TIME without saying a few things things you need to know: 1. it contains game breaking issues in need of a patch. the game is playable - however it has some problems. as mentioned in other threads, check out the tech support section to see if this is something you want to deal with or not. the developer says its committed to building a stable version, and I believe them. they are NOT crooks... however they haven't committed to a timetable for the fixes, so be forewarned, you could be waiting for a fully working game for a while. 2. you MAY be buying a "KSP lite" version of the game. what you will get is a version up to date with version 1.2 "loud and clear" , which may or may not receive further content updates. current PC version is 1.3, with a 1.4 release planned next month. furthermore the console version may or may not have compatibility with future DLC. ie: the developer has not committed one way or the other to bringing future content updates or DLC. commitment to console bug fixes and stability updates yes... parity with PC and DLC... no commitment as yet. so be forewarned if that's a deal breaker for you, you might want to pass on the console edition. 3. there is no mod support for the console version. while such a thing is (possibly) feasible insofar that there are console games with sanctioned Mod support on consoles (example: Fallout 4) - general consensus in the community is that there probably will NEVER be mod support for KSP console for a myriad of reasons. however there has been no confirmation or denial from the developers that Mod support will be a part of KSP console... buying lottery tickets might be a better bet though. if Mods are something you absolutely must have to make you happy - better pass on console and go PC. so, after reading the above - and its all on the table. my .02: is the game fun? you bet! if you do go for it... recommend to stick to sandbox till they fix the game, or really drag your feet and take your time in career (the worst of the game breaking issues seem to come up later in the tech tree...) can you play and enjoy it tomorrow? - sure, if you can handle the above, and go in to it with expectations that it's broken, but still playable. is it perfect? - far from it. but I really (mostly) do believe it'll get there... eventually, hopefully this helps clarify things for you a bit. if I knew a year and a half ago what I know now... I'd still buy the game, but at least I'd have gone into it fully informed.
  19. Agree 100% if you want this game to survive, and grow - you'll have to help fund it - the 30 bucks you spent to buy it paid for the effort of building the damn thing.if you want more - you'll have to pay for it. its economics, they have mouths to feed and bills to pay. buy it or don't its your choice. and drip feed of planned features during the pre release does not equal "DLC" so lets just nip that BS in the backside here and now... OK? now, I have 15 bucks burning a hole in my pocket, just waiting to hear if Console payers will get a shot at the DLC too...
  20. Gentlemen, I think you miss my point - I don't think what I'm asking is Irrational, I am a paying customer (and if paid DLC is on the table, I will continue to be a paying customer) and I'm not getting what I paid for, I want to know why, and what they intend to do about it. I'm not interested in getting my money back (not that its possible. after too many hours in the game, Sony will not refund so I'm SOL... however it took several hours for the game breaking time warp bug to render the game unplayable. until that started I was content to deal with the little convenience bugs and sit patiently for a patch, the same thing happened with the Flying tiger version, I played it for several hours, it had it's issues, but it was pretty good I had some fun - them wham! first game breaker. ). I took it on faith that the developers would make it right and waited for a fix that never came, with almost zero information about why - and when the "fix" did come it took a year and a half... and it's still not right. Is it too much to ask? I want what I paid for. As a paying customer I was led to expect a certain product - and most importantly, a product that works correctly. as I mentioned I didn't expect the product to work correctly right off the bat - they almost never do, they always have problems and I'm usually quite patient about them. big deal... right? wait a week or three and the patch comes out and everything is gravy. however this has become ridiculous. from announcement of a console version, it has been TWO years... and they still don't have a properly working product, they still haven't answered the question of will it be kept up to date with the PC version (including DLC)? you tell me I'm being irrational, that I should expect what I paid for - and want to know even when it is fixed, If I'm getting a watered down version of the game? they have all the time in the world to post updates to the PC community and show them all the shiny new stuff they are working on to improve their game experience, and they give the console players next to nothing. they won't even tell us if we will eventually get the shiny new stuff too. I think me, and my Console brethren have right to be disappointed, insulted, even angry. And I want them to fess up to what they have done and chat with us about it. - that is all, a little bit of communication and frank discussion. I don't think its irrational to expect a service provider to communicate with their customers? do you?
  21. They would be fools not to release DLC to console. Console players are used to paid DLC, We WILL buy it, would be very lucrative for them. In fact if they release an anouncement that the DLC is available for pre order, or that a "season pass" of a sort was available that will include the latest DLC and 2-3 ones to come later for a bundle price of 50 bucks or so... I'd buy it TOMORROW. It should be a priority, as its a source of near instant revenue. Also, Since there is no mod support for the console edition, it will be the only way to keep fresh content going to that edition. Take two is not known for free content, so... yeah if DLC is not in the picture for console, that version dies. I want parity with the PC version (with a reasonable delay due to the additional development issues with console) I did't pay for KSP lite, I paid for the FULL game. I want what I paid for, and I want the people that I paid to comunicate WHY I don't have what i paid for. It would be very nice if those of you who are NOT development reps stop "answering" my questions about why they won't talk to the console players. I didn't join this comunity to hear fanboy excuses, I joined to to bring the grievences I have with the people that I gave my money to into the open, and maybe, just maybe... Get a few straight answers. I think they owe the comunity that. After 1.5 years of lousy service and getting the run around, The least they could do is talk to us like adults.
  22. at a ripe old age, I'd be willing to be frozen and then thawed a few hours before the sun finally dies... or - hours before the earth is hit with an extinction level impactor. I'd want to see that. helluva way to go out.
  23. So, Development Staff - this thread starts with a big "WHOO HOO look at me" major content announcement that makes NO mention about weather the Console edition will get said content. within the first 3 pages TWO customers ask for clarification - is the making history expansion going to come to the Console version? and not ONE of you bothered to answer your customer's question - and its a simple question. yes or no... is this planned? as I've already mentioned in my (i think) second ever post... your communication with the Console player base is extremely lacking. in this case almost to the point of it appearing deliberate. my point is - these two guys should never even have had to ask - there should have been something about this in the announcement. one extra paragraph - something to the effect of: AND, not to worry console players! enhanced edition users will receive the expansion after (insert plausible reason for why it takes longer to develop) thanks for being patient! or: AND Console players, we are sorry but due to (insert constraints) we won't be able to bring this content to console. is that too much to ask?.
  24. To: Squad, Take Two, Blitworks, whatever, et al Guys, I get it, the flagship version of KSP has been and will always be the PC version. it was developed there, its has the largest player base and as such it's always going to be the priority. and the console version will always be a few versions behind the PC version, and the bulk of your efforts will always be spent on the flagship version. By and large, most console players expect and accept this. its reasonable. yes, we know it's tough dealing with Sony and Microsoft to get certification for content and patches - we get it. it's a process and it takes time. But, your decision to release a console version does come with a certain amount of responsibility to the people that choose to pay their money and buy the product. one of those responsibilities is REALLY supporting the new version- you need to do this in addition to tweaking and developing new content for the PC version. my point being, if you didn't want the responsibility - you shouldn't have taken our money. OK, its unreasonable for us as customers to expect a "perfect" build on release. anyone who does is a fool. it never happens. there will always be bugs, issues, and exploits, its the nature of software development. Most console EE players expected some issues. I certainly did. its what YOU do as the developer when these bugs are discovered that will impress or discourage your console customers. Seeing a bunch of WOW paragraphs in the Friday update Prioritizing the color of new spacesuits, ( I mean really? that's important?... and clearly if we are shooting for historical - the silver USN Mk IV mercury suit would be the clear winner) for an expansion that WE (console players) won't even possibly get, while seeing one or two sentences about the MAJOR issues that the console EE version has is a discouragement. We want more info - and a fair share of space in the weekly update. ie: what are you doing for US? give us a ball park for how long it will be for the patch that is obviously needed? are we looking at weeks? months? another year and a half? not looking for or expecting a hard date... but surely you have some idea how long its going to take to patch the MESS that the EE addition turns into late game. tell us about the work you are doing to provide us with a stable, quality, build, what are the challenges? it may not be good news - but we want the news. WE (console players) want to know if/when are we going the get the making history expansion? if its not possible to get Making history because "reasons" TELL US about why... we can take it. Simply being told that we need to report our bugs (do the job you should have done yourself) and that you are "working" on a patch does not cut the mustard guys. some of whats wrong with the EE edition should never have made it out of development and onto the release version... period. ( I'm looking squarely at the time warp bug...) seriously - that is a game breaking issue... a few hours worth of career mode and it rears its ugly head... how did this get missed?! tl/dr version: YOU NEED TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR CONSOLE PLAYER BASE. we've had it with the one or two sentence vague "updates" about what you are doing to fix your mess. Thank you - rant over
  25. Sweet! many thanks for the info. just for the record, was it somewhere in the control tab and I just missed it?
