Stuck in 300km orbit with no fuel. Help!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
For future future flights, get a good feel of about how much fuel you will need to go to and from the Mun, actual calculations are not really necessary. If you can't do that (i would probably mess that kind of thing up), try his suggestion of nudging the craft with an EVA pilot, then get back in. -
Stuck in 300km orbit with no fuel. Help!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
How to kill a kerbal 101: reentry heating trying to parachute down. You will need to send a new mission to get as close as possible to the stranded craft, and then use the EVA fuel to get over to the craft, then prepare for reentry. -
Are the Kerbin Ice Caps Solid?
Lego_Prodigy replied to Smokey the Bear's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Mission abort, although it would take forever for me to actually design a working stock submarine to answer this question, let alone actually get it to the south pole -
Are the Kerbin Ice Caps Solid?
Lego_Prodigy replied to Smokey the Bear's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Busy flying in a flying wing to the south pole with lights at nighttime to investigate this question, Imma try to get as close to the edge as possible and either ditch, or somehow land the wing very close to the edge and do an EVA for an answer, -
Even though my MK2 spaceplane didnt technically survive a reentry on it's own into eve, I have found that it is entirely necessary to have two 10m heatshields, as craft seem to LOVE to flip to the wrong side and burn up. Place a ball of 10m heatshields if all else fails.

I like the green one best, but I want it with the compass headings. Combine the first one with the headings of the the second one in yellow. -
[1.3] NavBallTextureChanger v1.6 (8/7/17)
Lego_Prodigy replied to TheRagingIrishman's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Theres no file inside of where there should be one for the mod to actually work, right now its just a useless folder. Am I doing something wrong? -
RTG effectiveness
Lego_Prodigy replied to GarrisonChisholm's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just put a ring of 8 RTGs inside of like a fuel tank, and kinda offset them into it for smoothness. -
Flying wing challenge!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Lego_Prodigy's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Thats cheating. I can see those vertical surfaces. ANYTHING NOT ON THE SAME HORIZONTAL PLANE AS THE WING IS COUNTED AS A VERTICAL CONTROL SURFACE -
Flying wing challenge!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Lego_Prodigy's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Wont work, doesn't show the images. -
If you can tell me how to post images, i will show you guys what I used to get to eve, a spaceplane that was exceedingly simple for what I did. Unfortunately, I didnt have enough fuel to power an injection maneuver, and I had to use cheats to actually explore eve.

Flying wing challenge!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Lego_Prodigy's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I can't do that, so that would make me look more pathetic than I am, but if you insist, i can make that a few points. -
Flying wing challenge!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Lego_Prodigy's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Yes, vertical surfaces are counted as those that are not on the same horizontal plane as the wings. -

Flying wing challenge!
Lego_Prodigy replied to Lego_Prodigy's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Not true, the B2 bomber does NOT have ANY vertical surfaces I shall define vertical as ANYTHING that sticks up relative to the wing and is a surface of control, so yes from 90 to slightly above horizontal. Its not impossible, I clearly accomplished that myself, and my plane handled beautifully. -
I would love a simple design that can be readjusted for things such as submarine usage.

What is your most facepalm-worthy moment regarding KSP?
Lego_Prodigy replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Probably almost every single flight I have made up to this point can be included here.
