  1. My wish has failed. Your corruption has, by simply existing, broken itself.
  2. I wish for this wish and nobody else's wish gets corrupted from now and from this point forwards.
  3. Foolish mortal, Ben J. Kerman. I am the default kerbal. As I was forged in the fires of danny's save file, the mighty kraken itself obeys my very word. Your measly cranes is no match for the deep-space kraken. Tremble before it's might!
  4. true, just needed an excuse for oxidizer. Perhaps Jool is different then real-life gas giants?
  5. I posted there BECAUSE people linked it, within my same post here. I didn't know about that post until people here linked it.
  6. okay, well I disagree Which is why I tried to make the effects minor or avoidable
  7. Why not oxidizer? Ice, a VERY common resource, has oxygen. I don't see why a refinery couldn't crack ice into oxidizer. I said "Ore" because making a separate resource for a part that's only usable on a single planet would be a waste of time. besides, the resources gained would mechanically work the same as ore.
  8. I tried to avoid adding disasters that are both unavoidable and would ruin the mission. Having all systems turned off for a few seconds likely wouldn't ruin missions, and you can easily drive out of the way of meteor strikes. I also never suggested Earthquakes.
  9. A simple part idea. feel free to use! -SCC-00P Fuel Scoop The "Specialized Cargo Collection mk00 Part" Is an odd, net-like structure, that, when extended, captures gasses like Hydrogen or small solids such as ice particles and stores them to later turn into liquid fuel and oxidizer. Despite critics making outrageous claims such as "This part's acronym is forced and stupid", it seems to work as intended. Fuel Refinery sold separately. This part will slowly produce Ore when exposed to Jool's atmosphere, which can then be processed into fuel. The deeper the part is, the more Ore it makes.
  10. I considered Hurricanes but I didn't know how one would make that work
  11. Now, this has been suggested before. Yes, it can cause problems on lower-end computers. maybe it's better off as a mod, so for any modders out there, maybe you can make something like this? Now, Weather is a major part of spaceflight. Dust Storms, Strong Winds, and more can cause problems for all sorts of craft. Here are some weather concepts, both Extreme, and not: Sun Near-sun spacecraft may be hit with solar flares, shutting down electronics temporarily (I think something else causes this, but Solar Flares is all I can remember atm) Moho Moho is close to the sun, where asteroids tend to break up. This causes dangerous meteor showers that can damage or destroy buildings. Eve Eve's atmosphere creates wind storms. "Wind" is represented by a random small force pushing on a part of a vessel. This force increases the further up you are, so while rovers may not be toppled aircraft will struggle. This also obscures visibility. Gilly gilly doesn't get effects Kerbin Kerbin has a variety of environments, which should have their own conditions Grasslands, Mountains Rain and Snowstorms can both occur here, with the exception that only snowstorms appear on Mountains. These storms don't affect craft in any way other then visibility In rare cases, Lightning will also be present in these storms. Lightning can disable electronics for 1-3 seconds. Islands Tropical Storms around islands can happen, causing rain and lightning. Wind is also present, also interfering with aircraft. Increased chance of regular rain. Desert Dust storms that obscure vision and block out solar panels. Mun The mun doesn't have any special effects Minmus Still nothing Duna Days-long dust storms block solar panels and obscure vision Ike random spacecraft trying to get to Duna constantly crash into the surface Ike gets nothing Dres Dres gets random meteor strikes that damage or destroy parts Jool Jool has strong winds, possibly strong enough to destroy weaker craft. Laythe Laythe has tropical storms, causing rain, wind, and lightning, as well as regular storms. Fog can also appear, obscuring vision. I can't think of anything else for the remaining planets or moons. PARTS A variety of parts would be added: -Laser Turret A small turret that uses Energy. It shoots down incoming meteors, protecting craft -Lightning Rod A simple, low-cost solution to storms. Putting this on the highest section of a craft protects it from lightning strikes -Weather Prediction Camera: A small satellite dish with a built-in camera. Craft with this part in orbit of a planet can predict incoming weather effects up a day before they happen, and where exactly they will happen -Storm Analyzer A device that, when within a rain cloud, snow cloud, lightning cloud, tropical storm, or even simply the atmosphere of jool, produces science related to the weather effects -Dust Net A device that catches blown-around dust from dust storms for further analysis of soil composition. provides small amounts of science.
  12. Going to say Laythe, especially with graphics mods such as Scatterer or Eve Try having boats and seaplanes on the surface, nothing but the open sea and sky.| Try a Laythe sunset, with Jool hanging low in the skies, it's bottom half hidden in the endless sea as the setting sun casts a golden color on the water. Try soaring in the atmosphere with a plane, darting in and out of the clouds, keeping your eye out for the next island. Try waiting for night, then look up into the sky. Try to find all the other moons! Or even just hang in orbit, watching the Aurora Borealis as you pass by. It's clear I love Laythe, and I hope I made it obvious why! it's near-unbeatable in the sheer beauty of the world. Kerbin may come close, but you can't witness a Jool-rise or Jool-set on Kerbin, and something about the distance of Laythe from Kerbin just makes it feel much more rewarding. Also, it gets to around 80 degrees fahrenheit at the equator. Try and tell me that Laythe doesn't sound like a good vacation spot.
  13. I know this thread is 3-4 years old, but I just gotta say, this was a really good point.
  14. didn't know this existed. thanks!
  15. What's your favorite planet or moon in KSP?
  16. I saw a 2015 post about this but i'm wondering if perhaps stuff changed between now and then. so... how do you pronounce Laythe? I pronounce it as Lay-thee, as it sounds more alien and exotic, but I have heard youtubers say "Lathe", and most of the people from the 2015 post did so too. so, how do you pronounce it?
  17. So I downloaded Procedural parts, however I have come across an issue. lets use the fuel tank for example. it has a default size of 1 meter. I can barely get it to fit the most basic, early-game parts, and therefore it's not very flexible. it seems to cap out around 1.15 meters maximum, and that same 1-meter-wide width you start with at a minimum. it's also very inflexible length-wise, barely able to change length as well. i'll attach pictures of the minimum and maximum fuel tanks, to give you a better Idea what i'm talking about. I have tested this on career and sandbox modes, and with other mods present (the one most likely to cause errors would be Near-Future Construction, or ProceduralDynamics (Procedural Wings)). can't figure out how to attach screenshots from my computer. oof.
  18. playing KSP. I should note that I am playing version 1.9.1 due to other mods. I also have no other mods that modify the visuals of the planet. I also do not have Transfer Window Planner, which I need to mention as it was causing problems for people in other threads with similar issues. so, I sent a spaceplane to Laythe, only the wings got ripped off somehow in the decent, leading to the plane crashing in the sea. I was able to save what remained of the plane with some parachutes I put on for landing. when on the water surface, I noticed that, when the water is looked at from specific camera angles, or in some cases just all the time, the water detail was not present, there was only a blank sphere where the water should be darkening the ground under it. as I have said before, I don't have any other mod that change how planets look, which leads me to believe scatterer is causing the issue
  19. looks like I tried to post this about a mod, but for whatever reason it went to the normal KSP forums instead of the one about the mod. sorry, still new to this website. anyways, I resolved the issue with the mod in question. the mod was Scatterer, and it seemed the file that I installed was corrupted. I fixed it by simply re-installing it
  20. I'm having an issue with unzipping the file. My PC is claiming that the file is empty and refuses to unzip it.
