  1. Loaded up the game, made a squid out of fuel tanks, and blew it up over kerbin, raining debris on the KSC.
  2. I started September of this year, mission going well and the game is swell.
  3. Hello everyone! Today i'm going to be talking about this new Mission Report. It's my first one and I hope i'm doing this correctly. I'm not very good at KSP but I can still write about my missions. Most of the names in my Mission Report are either made by me or somewhat made of actual Spacecraft names. I also have school and work to worry about so posting times will vary depending on my KSP play time. I will however be talking about some of my other KSP adventures. Sadly, I can't provide pictures of these adventures as they are in the past. But I can still tell those stories. So, enjoy reading Mission Report: From Construction to Conquer. November 24 2020 11-24-20 Mission Log: 1 So let's talk about what happened in the beginning, and I mean the beginning. I was sitting at my desk thinking about random things and decided to watch a KSP video. I was scrolling through and found a Matt Lowne video. I watched it and after that day I was amazed by KSP, amazed! I immediatly checked Steam to see the price. The price, surprise surprise, was only 9.99. It was on sale! I withdrew 10 dollars from an account I had and purchased the game. I loaded up and was gleeful when looking at the "Mun or Bust" loading screen. Now, I do feel a little regret thinking I could join the game and just be amazing at it. Major props to whoever is a good KSP player. Playing the tutorial and launching what is called the "Jumping Flea" was the best part of KSP and I will always remember opening a tutorial and launching a rocket. From this point forward my mission reports are most likely going to be more formal than this one. The one i'm writing now is an introduction to my KSP experience. Some of the events might be told in different ways than others. Pictures and styles of writing will be used a lot! Thank you for reading the first entry of Mission Report: From Construction to Conquer.
  4. Im just going to put you in the eyes of the kerbals. Get ready for dialogue. "Alright bill, all systems ready for Ignition" "Good thing bob, get ready for liftoff" Launching in 5 4 3 2 1 Ignition sequence sta- *BOOM* What you saw there is an example past me, using decouplers like they come in the mail everyday, and then smashing the parts together like the clueless, sinful, man I used to be.
  5. I have an assignment for you and Lowne Aerospace, the head council has sent a message to the Internal Affairs office, and we now need you to create something. We need, an Orbital Missile station. The goal of this mission is to create a station in LKO that can launch missile-like projectiles down to kerbin. Where to strike with these missiles? That would be your decision. The fate of kerbin is in your hands Matt.

If you prefer the informal version of that, make an LKO station that can fire missiles at kerbin.

Thank you and I absolutely love your KSP videos, keep being awesome.

P.S, Message me if you accept this challenge.

  6. Personally, as a person with a computer that is full on anti-mod, I just make planes that can deploy fuel tanks and I drop them on kerbalnauts that have landed on the ground or I drop them on drones that need to be taken care of
  7. Well well well! Here we are again! Congratulations to @Klapaucius For winning the challenge! And now, we spend this week constructing a rocket that can make it to orbit using only monopropellant engines. If you don't want to do that, submit your rocket and join the fun! A winner will be announced sometime next monday Pacific Time.
  8. Amatuers, I spent almost all of my funds on my second rocket. Trying to make it go to the Moon (I know its the Mun i just called it the Moon). It ended up never seeing flight and exploding due to having the decoupler go off at the same time of engine so the running engine feel off the rocket and slammed into the fuel tanks. This made it blow up and we lost Bill Kerman. Oh and also, I watched Matt Lowne YouTube videos so I knew my stuff pretty well, and yet I still made this stupid stupid mistake of a noob. Then again I WAS a noob at the time so... well you didn't ask for this. Thanks for reading this far, my fingers prefer to type more than less.
  9. My first non tutorial flight was a mission to orbit where I forgot to put parachutes on and crashed into the water and exploded.
  10. I generally name my rockets with generic names. I have names like "Science Orbital Station I" or "Mark I - Mark XI". Many times I just name it something that sounds technical and such. Sometimes I use something that sounds good as an acronym. Those are just some ideas for inspiration.
  11. I was able to launch a Shuttle and dock it with my D-Class Jool Science station, and then fly to my Mun A-Class orbital station and refueled. Then i headed back to kerbin and repeated the process but I was on a mission to colonize Laythe. (I was on KSP almost all day) During the course of the mission, I assembled a team of brave kerbals willing to make a series of trips to Laythe and begin to colonize it. This team's name is the most creative name out there. The team is called the Laythe Colonization and Research Unit (LCRU). The LCRU used space shuttles to bring a couple of Class-B orbital station parts to Laythe orbit. The second main goal was to make a small base on Laythe. So I created the biggest rocket I had ever made and sent a Class-B Ground Research Base. The base landed successfully and is in direct communication with the Orbital Station which, in turn, has a connection to Kerbin. After some research on the Laythe I Sent up two more shuttles that deployed some more Living Quarters to the Orbital Station. My favorite bit of the Orbital Station is more or less a parking space for landers. On the station there is a few fuel tanks which are connected to a series of docking ports. These docking ports each have a lander that can hold 2 people. The plan is that when people need to go to the Ground Research Base or other areas on Laythe, they can hop in the lander and and go down to the space station. Then, with the Remote Guidance Unit, the lander goes back to the station and refuels. Ready for another transport mission to the Laythe surface. There is one lander that is capable of deploying a rover and transporting supplies down to Laythe. I plan to send Shuttles with fuel to the station so the landers can stay operational during their use. This was all I could do over the course of today. Another thing, I can't submit a screenshot because my computer simply can't do it. Hopefully you enjoyed reading my story.
  12. I am relatively new to the game so you can imagine my proudest moment so far is something that Mission Control would shame. My proudest moment would be launching a crew cabin and a fuel tank with an engine with two shuttles and then using RCS and docking ports to connect them. This was also known as my first space station, Science Orbiter I (Not very creative I know but it's still a proud moment) The one thing i wasn't prepared for on my journey to the Mun. Bringing Jeb and Paul (Scientist) Home!
  13. I was testing a rocket in sandbox mode before putting it in my science mode save. Apparently, I made the noob mistake of putting the coupler first, and the Airstream Protective Shell second. I was burning through my second stage when I press the button to decouple it. What happens is, the de-coupler shoots the Airstream Protective Shell forward and the pieces explode while the de-coupler smashes into the service module, containing valuable donut fuel tanks for the trip home. The tanks explode and my kerbal is ejected out of the capsule. I then attempt to EVA to one of my space stations and end up dying due to re-entering the atmosphere and having jeb become a meteor man.
  14. I'm fairly new to KSP so, one of the things I want to achieve is a successful manned rover mission to the Mun and back. So far, I am able to land the rover and EVA down to the rover. The electronics and everything works but the one problem is that I can never make it back home to Kerbin.
  15. The kerbol eclipse is a work of art. Purely amazing.
  16. Welcome to another session of Interesting Rocket Designs! Sadly, there was no participants last time so there were no winners.Go ahead and send your interesting rocket designs here! Judging will take place on next saturday at 3:00 EST.
  17. Thank you Captain, I appreciate the movement and assistance.
  18. Hello everyone, welcome to the weekly post of "IRD". This week's challenge is, drumroll please, a space station in low kerbin orbit, required to have at least two crew pods. Anything else you want to add you can! Enjoy the challenge. Final date for submissions is sunday october 25th. Next week, the challenge starts on monday so don't delay!
