  1. Took me a minute... Now you have TWO crews stuck, but at least they have each other.
  2. There\'s no saying that the Kerbus system has ANYTHING in common with the Terran system. Maybe their Mun is young enough to still have a liquid core and that was a lava spout.... food for thought.
  3. What about adding a field with a unique 'serial' for each ship (like the Unix time of creation), comparing the MET for each ship, and then replacing the earlier one with a later one?
  4. Found it, got it, starting a Mun and minmus base with it.
  5. As the discoverer of this feature, I\'d like to request that it be named the Zoot gateway:
  6. What rover is that? I like it... a lot. Also, this confirms what I thought when I did the initial flyby that discovered that bad boy: That thing is huge. Maybe I should do another Munar survey, and one of Minmus, too...
  7. I saw it from the command map. I did lose it. When I wnet there, I took it with the mentality of approaching a COMPLETELY unknown body. All I knew is what it looked like from the orbital map (which doesn\'t tell you much) and that I couldn\'t see it from Kerbin (which doesn\'t tell you much), hence the WAY overbuilt lander. I built the craft for something much larger. Anyway, general procedure I used: Get into a nice round orbit around Kerbin, do a plane change to match orbits. Minmus is on about a 10~15 deg inclination. Do a hohmann transfer out to Minmus, aim almost directly for it. As soon as you start getting close, accelerate parallel to the orbit until your orbit patches in. It\'s not the most efficient way there, but for a first exploration, it worked pretty well. To anyone wondering what it looks like, here it is: Yeah, my lander is huge,
  8. @OP: Your post made me smile, a lot. Thank you.
  9. Make sure your craft is relatively well balanced (will maintain heading with avionics SAS on) Also, make sure your craft isn\'t 'flexing.' Sounds like you have a weak joint somewhere that\'s flexing apart. Add some support struts.
  10. So, this started its life as a fighter, but I decided I wanted more range out of it, so I converted it into something space-worthy. It\'s very similar to the virgin airlines project in that it\'ll only orbit the planet once (in its current state) Instructions: Turn on SAS, Start the main stage, climb to 9000. It does need more than the runway available to take off, but you won\'t hit the water so long as you keep holding up. Climb up to about 9km, and from pitched up flight, press space to release the plane. Use most of your fuel to accelerate, but save the last little bit for landing. Landing: I ended up landing on water, and the crew survived (but the ship didn\'t). Keep pitching up during landing, and before you hit the water, use the last trickles of fuel to go as much horizontal as you can. Cut the power, and you\'ll skip across the water to a stop. Enjoy, please share your thoughts for my future designs.
  11. Lakes of ice? More like lakes of quicksand, look how deep the lander\'s legs are in that stuff I had the EXACT opposite problem:
  12. I\'m at 2900m, I was actually worried about hitting things on the surface when I did this burn ;P
  13. I saw this bad boy on Mun. Yes, I am that low, no, I have no clue what it is. It\'s on the Kerbin side of the Mun though, right about equator high. I\'ll have to make a rover to go check it out, I guess For anyone looking to do 'discovery,' I guess this would count as a spoiler.
  14. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do this. Doesn\'t seem too hard, maybe just add a hook that checks for the ship\'s owner and then goes from there? *shrug*
  15. I\'ve had mine at least that flat before I tried closing the legs. Must be a bad run of luck.
  16. Last time I tried something like that, I broke off landing gear when I tried to clamp on. How\'d you do it?
  17. Oh this made me laugh... a lot. If I\'m not mistaken, this picture isn\'t *quite* to proportion.
  18. Alright, I finally got the video finished and am now going through the painful process of uploading it, but then the file got corrupted, so I\'m trying again.
  19. I still find it incredibly useful for establishing more precise orbits, and anything more 'advanced' than getting to the Mun, yes I 100% agree.
  20. It certainly does, doesn\'t it? ;D I\'m still working on the video, I\'m making sure the narrative is actually good and explains all the things relative to making the ship a success. I should have it done later tonight.
  21. As of 14.4, You can route fuel lines directly to engines. And I made you a present. It\'ll make it into a low kerbin orbit. It\'s far from...elegant, but it works.
