Go for it. I guess just credit/link the original, and make sure it's named something to clearly to indicate what it is (E launched via Strato-1). Interesting. I never really had to use struts in my testing (granted, there was some slight wobbling). Did you have a catastrophic issue without any struts?

You could try angling the deployed craft slightly upwards, giving it a lift vector which passively pulls it away from the mothership. If you notice in my Stratolaunch craft, the payload pylon is angled slightly downward for this reason. I am not 100% sure this will solve your issue though. Your E craft seems to defy conventional physics. Edit: They did a similar thing for Space Shuttle testing. Also RIP A-1 crew... Sometimes progress means sacrifice. Edit 2: Just throwing this out there, you could try using the Strato-1 to launch this. I'd like to get feedback on the usability of it. Shameless plug: https://kerbalx.com/fleventeen/Strato-1

We've all been there. Nothing wrong with using the engine bell as landing legs in a pinch though.

SOL: High Fidelity Graphics for KSRSS - Wen Release?!?

It turns out atmospheres have layers, much like onions -

Yeah, I am aware of the broken config issues. It's probably off topic for this thread, but does anyone know if the scatterer default configs have been adjusted to compensate for the newer changes? I did a couple quick tests, and it seems that v0.0835 balloons the atmosphere up higher than v0.0772, which is odd because you would think the default configs would have been updated to reflect the new system. Edit: I'll pose this question in the main Scatterer thread for anyone interested. -

This is looking very promising. Great work so far! NOAA GOES has a lot of interesting time lapse data to look at for studying cloud evolution: https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/GOES/fulldisk_band.php?sat=G17&band=02&length=150&dim=1 This is good to hear, I was going to bring this up too. I have noticed that the newer versions of Scatterer in particular seem to extend the atmosphere way too high up, which ruins the illusion that the planet is large when in low orbit. I think a good example of what it should look like can be found in the opening of this incredible short film, where the atmosphere is a nice thin line on the horizon (sequence starts at 0:35): You might also find some inspiration in there for some of the outer planets and their moons. -

You are going to have to pry them from my cold dead (and surprisingly well nourished) hands!

Someone is upset that they didn't think to get into the bean biz. Now I have ALL THE BEANS! MWAHAHA
-
I didn't say I was willing to give them up...
-
@sbiancioYou could try SMURFF. It looks pretty simple, but you will need to edit the configs to make it do what you want. I think it is balanced for a 10x system by default.

how to use kerbalx tags
fleventeen replied to tremonthedgehog's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I think you can also chain tags by separating them by spaces too. -
I have been buying a large amount of beans to compensate for the lack of beans here. I now have somewhat of a bean problem on my hands.
-
Not to brag or anything but there were more beans in my lunch today than I've seen in this whole space program to date.
-
JNSQ and Parallax are currently incompatible.
-
I would like to request that the station be called "The Queen Bean".
-
Maybe you just got a lot better at the game and didn't realize it. If you find it too easy you could try to find some mods that rebalance part masses and engine performance.
-
No rescale is necessary, it should come out of the box at 2.5x rescale. If you are unsure if the mod is working, the point at which you transition to "space" should be higher than the stock 70km (I don't remember exactly how much, maybe 120km). Also, your velocity in low orbit should be in the ~4000m/s range vs. stock ~2300m/s.
-
This looks like part of SSPX (an amazing mod).

Life can always throw a spanner in the works, but sometimes it's good to take a break too.

There is always tomorrow (today?).

@Akagi The nerds over at the design bureau were finally able to replace those old hollowed out DLC booster tail sections with some shiny new fairings, which now makes the Strato-1 pure stock compatible! Craft: https://kerbalx.com/fleventeen/Strato-1 They are however still struggling to make it fit in the island airfield hangers. Perhaps it would go in sideways...

[DEFUNCT] AD ASTRA --- Check the latest post and update!
fleventeen replied to G'th's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
May I ask why? I am legitimately curious. I have seen a number of people reluctant to use it, but I have never seen anyone give a real reason why. Thanks! -

I have to ask, Is there a CKAN release planned? -
Banned for not realizing their subsequent post effectively banned themselves. RIP
