Playing with more aircraft. Got off work today a little earlier than normal, so had some time to build an A-10 Thunderbolt-ish aircraft I couldn't stop thinking about trying out. She handles very well for a quick bolt-together without much fine tuning.
-
No worries!
-
That's what i'm using, Jet Assisted Take Off. So far mainly played with quad Whiplashs.
-
Primarily just trying to hit some personal goals with having a consistent speed an altitude. When not doing the typical KSP exploration I usually play around with designing aircraft just for fun. So far this one is the best candidate for an SSTO for sure. I've been fiddling with adding a jettison-able rear JATO assembly to it for SSTO duty. I honestly haven't explored a single bit of the Kerbol system with an SSTO/Spaceplane yet.

Thank you! It's fairly maneuverable considering it only has the single vertical stabilizer/rudder and no horizontal stabilizers/elevators. Slow speed turns definitely aren't it's strong point, but once over 300m/s it maneuvers well. Turning off gimbal control with the rapiers definitely degrades the maneuverability quite a bit.

Playing with a new high altitude design. This one holds very well at 25k-26k altitude at around 1640m/s. Still have to fine tune a bit with the wing/stabilizer limits and CG, but she's almost super steady!
-
Playing with some more high speed/high altitude air-breathing designs to get a stable 1700m/s 24-35k cruise, or better. At these extremes every minute detail counts!
-
Omg that worked! Thank you so much!

Thank you! Right, the small 1.25m one. I only seem to have trouble with them overheating when put somewhere inline between an intake and engine. I moved it back a couple of positions before, but still experienced overheating. I'll try as far back as it can go and see what happens. I remember in KSP1 I kept having issues with the core not only overheating but causing a massive amount of drag when used in the same manner.

Eatons are fine. I've used a few of them as well as CyberPower and APC UPSs for personal use as well as in enterprise environments. I've had an APC Pro1000S powering my main gaming rig for two years now with excellent results. Power consumption maxes out at 550W under stress testing and shows about 70% used capacity.

Also been playing with a more specialized carrier for a belly drop. Was able to get up to 29K alt (almost 30k) and still have a bit of air-breathing power, but as soon as I pitched down is stopped the show. Again, the remote guidance unit overheating was an issue.
-
Testing a Lockheed D-21 drone carried piggyback on an SR-71 and launched at 18K alt. Still have to get down the handling of the D-21 and play with the wing positions a bit more. That and find a solution to the remote guidance unit overheating.

I removed the previous files and installed the folders within "EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements [1.8.0-2]" and "EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements-Configs-1.2.2.1.zip " I got the EVE manager back as well as few random wispy clouds, but within the Config Editor it just "Invalid Name!" next to the Kerbin-clouds1 file name.
-
I don't think I understand what's going on. I downloaded this one instead since it's the only other one listed, but now no EVE option and still no clouds.... "Configs (not needed for the Patreon release): Configs are to be downloaded from the default EVE config:https://github.com/WazWaz/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements/releases/download/EVE-1.2.2-1/EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements-Configs-1.2.2.1.zip or your favourite visual pack" That one installed the BoulderCo folder. I thought there was only one folder need to be installed and it works?
-
I went a step further and just did a fresh install and only used what's in the download folder and put it in the GameData folder. When KSP loads there's zero clouds. I thought maybe I needed module manager, so I downloaded it and put the .dll file in GamaData, but still the same thing. I get this message with Eve... https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ByPn1CCfOCpaj8031BmL5qYgmTPZNIPs/view?usp=sharing

* FAR issue resolved * Not sure what happened, but after performing a third overwrite of the FAR files, i've now got the FAR menu up and available. Odd and can't explain, but i'm happy!

Has anyone heard any new information on the aero model with KSP2? I've seen all the recent media releases showing airfoil adjustability and whatnot, but still haven't seen anything mentioning the physics (or any change thereof).

EVE and Scatterer installed just fine and their menu buttons are available. There was definitely a large change in the way aircraft handle after installing FAR... a few aircraft that were OK flyers were suddenly uncontrollable. Just never got any buttons or menus for FAR.

Placed ModuleManager and ModularFlightIntegrator into GameData folder, then overwrote the GameData folder in the FAR directory with the GameData folder from the FAR zip.

How do you get the FAR Flight Data menu to become available? The FAR menu button isn't populated on the screen that shows the Kerbal space center (EVE and Scatterer is shown), nor is it available when in the Spaceplane Hanger or the VAB.
