  1. Performance is greatly improved on my end. 5950x, 3070, 32GB RAM. I’m really impressed, didn’t expect such an improvement in performance this early in the EA cycle.
  2. Great job. Obvious that this patch was in development before the EA release date. This clearly looks like it should have been the build we actually had to play on launch. Edit: Also, maybe I missed it in the long wall of patch note text.. The orbit decay bug doesn’t seem to be listed as fixed?
  3. Yep. It doesn’t need to make the game a 1.0 experience, just needs to address and resolve the game-stopping bugs. I wouldn’t even expect a performance improvement push this patch.
  4. Everything about the new UI is an improvement. The only issues that immediately come to mind are some font choices and the part movement arrows in VAB.
  5. It’s normal for player count to drop off for a title at the state of development KSP2 is. There’s just not enough content to keep playing it full time, even if you can work with the bugs and performance issues. For instance, I have acceptable performance and am not overly bothered by the bugs and have gone back to KSP1 because I have mods, progression, and goals to work towards there. When a new patch drops people will return to check it out and then player count will drop again. This will repeat until there is enough content that people start switching to KSP2 full time over KSP1. Active player count isn’t a useful metric to make any sort of assumptions off of.
  6. It’s not uncommon for code references for other features to be found in game files, especially for games still in development which KSP2 most definitely is. It’s basically in an alpha state. Undoubtedly, other features were present for testing and development in whatever dev build we ended up getting and they were simply removed or turned off for the early access release.
  7. I would agree. I’d also be fairly surprised if the orbit decay issue isn’t addressed in the first patch. They just made an effort to mention a few of the biggest concerns from the community, doesn’t mean the other things aren’t being worked on.
  8. Good to have some communication from them about it. Looking forward to the patch.
  9. “releasetest” and “candidate” are the interesting branches for our concerns. The latter likely refers to a build that is a candidate for a live release. No doubt they are working hard to get a patch out that addresses the most critical bugs.
  10. I agree but you can check the pins on each channel to find the important posts more easily than scrolling. Just an FYI for anyone coming across this.
  11. Most of the issues the game currently has are so in your face the devs already knew about them prior to release. They’d have to literally be blind not to. However, I am sure they are going through the bug report forum and making a priority list based on perceived criticality to gameplay. I’d expect most of the obvious bugs to be resolved or at least improved with the first patch.
  12. I am attempting to build, in orbit, a ship with lander capable of round tripping to Duna No idea if I’ll be able to actually dock the drive module to it. I’ve had issues with docking where when 2 vessels approach on orbit, at around ~850 meters the one not in player control loses all velocity and falls to the planet.
  13. said it before and I’ll say it again - Steam reviews are a garbage metric to try and glean any sort of useful information from. You can’t compare the 2 titles. One has been fully released for years with a robust modding community and one just released in early access as basically an alpha. Again, going back to what I just wrote above: KSP2 is early access and essentially a very basic sandbox. No progression, no career modes, no mods..just some basic parts for you to mess around with. Most people at this stage won’t get much play time out of it, especially if they’re having severe performance issues due to a simple lack of optimization or playing on potato hardware. They’ll check it out for a few hours and then go back to KSP1, which does have progression and mods, until the next KSP2 patch at which point the cycle will repeat until KSP2 has enough content that people switch to it full time over KSP1. Once a couple patches release that address the most pressing problems, the negative reviews will slow and general sentiment will improve. KSP2 will do just fine in the long term.
  14. That’s not my experience at all with 14 hours so far. There are bugs of course but it’s not an unplayable mess like people make it out to be. It’s pretty standard fare for early access.
  15. Took me a while to get used to but I’m okay with it. I assume the main reason behind the change was that both rockets and aircraft are designed in the same building now. However, I do hope they fix middle mouse triggering part focus when you’re holding it down for vertical movement.
  16. Early Access; it could change Either way, Minmus looks great.
  17. The numbers are surely higher than 25000. For an EA title this is good. 1.25m Also I think people are really overestimating how many people will have refunded. Despite the overwhelmingly negative tone of this forum, it’s important to remember that it’s just that: this forum. Steam reviews are a joke metric as they are susceptible to bombing campaigns which is what happened with KSP2. Too many people unreasonably expected this to be as fully polished and playable as KSP1 which has been out for a decade. The majority of people will be fine to have bought it and then sit on it as it gets more developed, which is what you are meant to do with an EA game.
