More efficient ways remove space debris?
Khrissetti replied to StanE's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Attach a mechjeb module to your stages, decouple with a little bit of fuel left, enough to deorbit the stage then you can switch to the debris and use the \'landing\' feature of MechJeb to bring \'er down. alternately. Laser it. -
What do you consider a circular orbit?
Khrissetti replied to Atimed's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Whenever the map view starts spasming and can\'t decide exactly what my Ap and Pe are, that\'s when I\'m at circular. I don\'t know what sort of eccentricity that is. -
How did you feel when you first achieved lift off? ( Successful )
Khrissetti replied to Chrissssyx's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My first rocket reached 40km before it ran out of fuel, the next reached 70km, the next 75. I named all my rockets after how high they went until I discovered how to orbit. My first rockets were based on the tutorial, though so they weren\'t overly-ambitious. -
Earth is so vaired that just about any fictional, but realistic, Alien continents will have passing resemblences to somewhere on Earth.

if you\'re crashing at sufficient speeds it doesn\'t matter, if you jump out at 100m/s you\'ll still be accelerating from 100m/s regardless of whether you\'re in a ship or not.

I know that since KSC2 isn\'t equatorial, an orbit which remains over the site is impossible. However for Mission 5, you just need your space station to be in orbit over it when you take the picture.

Hello there! Everyone who\'s joining recently seems to be from places I\'ve visited in the last 5 years! I was really impressed by Sweden (Stockholm) especially the old town with the streets so narrow you have to squeeze through!

Instead of one mission, this campaign consists of multiple missions With a (very) loose roleplaying narrative linking them together. Accomplish them however you want, but bonus points will be awarded for stock achievements. Mission 1 -Slip the surly bonds of Kerbin- Before the advent of staged rockets, the original rocketeers built single stage craft to touch the heavens, in this challenge you\'ll do the same. Challenge: Build a rocket with no decouplers to complete one orbit of Kermin and land your crew safely. Mission 2 -Fly me to the Mun- The success of KSC\'s first mission has sparked a new space enthusiasm on Kermin and the hubris of a generation is about to be put to the test. Hundreds of telescopes are pointed at the mun\'s near side, but nobody has seen the hidden side before... Challenge: Land on the far-side of the Mun (the side which doesn\'t face Kerbin) and return to Kerbin safe and sound Mission 3 -Ice, Ice, baby- The success of the space program is evident... in the global warming which has accompanied hundreds of rocket flights. A crackpot kerbal scientist has discovered a \'solution\': to drop ice into the ocean! But how to get it? Challenge: Fly to Minmus and land with at least four empty fuel tanks. (to put the ice in, obviously!) return to kerbin, drop the empty (or ice-filled )tanks in the ocean and land safely. Mission 4 -We\'re all going on a summer holiday.- Well, with the planet saved, what\'s a hero to do but to take a well-earned vacation? Unfortunately holidays have to end, so make sure you have your return ticket! Challenge: land on any of Kerbin\'s islands then return to within 50km of KSC Mission 5 -Through a mirror, darkly- There are dark rumours coming from KSC2, rumours of explodium bombs and a communication station to summon the Deep Space Kraken. we need to monitor these degenerates. Challenge: Put a space station in an orbit which passes directly over KSC2. Picture evidence of the orbit passing over the centre is required Mission 6 -Plausible deniability- KSC2 are on to us! They claim they have spotted our space stion and are threatening war. Of course we deny that such a structure exists and argue that it is just space junk orbiting overhead. We need to make this is true before all-out Kerbal warfare is declared! Challenge: Send a ship to destroy the station you put in orbit in Mission 5. Use lasers, railguns, missiles or just a collision with another ship to make sure that all your tracking station sees is \'debris\' (Picture required of the destruction of the station and a picture from the tracking station to confirm that only \'debris\' is left.) Failure conditions: If the mission takes more than three days, you are too late, KSC2 will have confirmed our station\'s existence and war will be declared. CAMPAIGN CHAMPIONS 1. hello1432 60 Points 2. Markus Reese 29 points 3.... 4.... 5....

Szervusz! Loved Budapest when I came over to stay last year, especially the hidden little gems like the nuclear bunker beneath the castle in Buda. Welcome to the forums.

597) When you forget to press \'space\' again to activate the engine and you spend the last 200m screaming at your engine to turn on. 598) When youpress space too many times and decouple your descent stage...

Can you not rock it back over onto its belly with RCS? Welcome!

Just to everyone whose lander looks meaty!

Daedalus, Icarus and an ethical dilemma
Khrissetti replied to Fuzzy Dunlop's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I say turn it into a challenge. Post your persistence file, craft files and any other bits players will need and challenge the kerbal pilots here to land the Icarus. -
Until I opened that picture, I thought you\'d actually rendezvoused seven rockets at once!

I demand photos! Photos of the poles!
Khrissetti replied to BeefTenderloin's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Nicely done. I was at 250km and had just worked out how light I was starting to get on fuel, I decided that Minmus\' pictures would have to be very high altitude pics. Good job I did, too. Also, I used Mechjeb and the NovaPunch pack. -
I demand photos! Photos of the poles!
Khrissetti replied to BeefTenderloin's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Phew, that was close, I slightly underestimated the amount of fuel I\'d need for this, I had to limp back on RCS and aerobrake three times to get back home, but still, as requested The Charon launches Mun North pole Mun South Pole Minmus South Pole Minmus North Pole Kerbin North Pole (Fuel running low here, not enough to incline myself directly over the poles, still, good enough to get some high quality polar pictures) Kerbin South Pole Coming in to splashdown You can almost taste the briney blue 10 days, 6 poles, three celestial bodies later, our heroes return with a splash safely -

Khrissetti replied to BeefTenderloin's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I\'ll send a Charon ferry up there right away. -
Cheers, I just wanted a fairly simple station to practice rendezvousing with in anticipation of EVA, so it\'s got a hab module, some ASAS to stand in as labs and a utility modle.

Man on the Moon - REM A Space Boy Dream - Belle and Sebastian (Perfect for the long haul to the Mun) Big Bang Theory - Bare Naked Ladies We\'ll Meet Again - Vera Lynn (For when you break a lander and leave your kerbals stranded on the moon) The White Cliffs of Dover - Vera Lynn (For the return journey when you DON\'T break your lander) 'I\'ll never forget the people I met Braving those angry skies I remember well as the shadows fell The light of hope in their eyes' Space Oddity - David Bowie (When you run out of fuel \'high above the world\') Life on Mars - David Bowie

How do I stop spinning?
Khrissetti replied to Trekkin's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The Kraken is the reason I gave up on my Sundiver missions, I couldn\'t be bothered fighting it every time I wanted to make the smallest plane change. -
At the moment, the donations and initial $15 fee is just to keep the project afloat while the game is in development. If anything, I expect they\'re probably losing money at the moment. When the game is finally released fully, then they\'ll recoup their losses. The prognosis is good, after all it\'s a unique game with very little competition (The only \'game\' which comes close is Orbiter, which has a totally different ethos and feel to it) by releasing it in a developing alpha mode they\'re building up a dedicated fanbase, with a strong modding community which will be on hand to promote and advise customers when the full game is released. I don\'t think that it will be an \'angry-birds\' style mega-hit, it\'s too complicated for that; and I don\'t think it will be a \'Skyrim\' style blockbuster (They don\'t have the advertising budget for that) but I predict it will be a sleeper hit which should make Squad a decent enough amount of money to start working on KSP II

Wow, that\'s a meaty-looking lander!

[Invention] Discussion on location of the Kerbol system.
Khrissetti replied to Plaatinum Aerospace's topic in KSP Fan Works
Different universe, where the dominant element is Explodium which has about 11 times more mass than the materials of Earth. -
Keep up the good work, guys. You don\'t have to rush for us plebs, just get it right
