  1. Pico space program and Odysseus STS is at 4 stars now. :/ I'm rating any thread that has 1 star with 5 stars.
  2. Yeah, I think they should remove the rating system. The one star rating on some threads can deter people away from the thread, regardless if the thread is good or bad. I often go around and rate the threads with 1 star with 5 stars to balance it a bit.
  3. I play with stock parts and a lot of gameplay enhancing plugins.
  4. What I got: Problems: - The attachment node of the mk3 cockpit is not centered - The batteries rotate and attach at their center, and are small - The advanced canard is small - The control surfaces are big - The tri-coupler does not radially attach to anything and does not have surfaces to attach things to it. Even if it could attach to things, it would only attach at the middle. - Stock Space Shuttles are very hard to build. If you want a stock space shuttle you should check out my shuttle, the Odysseus (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/63127-Odysseus-STS-Block-III-Stock-Space-Shuttle!?p=862576#post862576) or these excellent shuttles by other users: GusTurbo's Space Shuttle Turbo: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/64494-Space-Shuttle-Turbo-Stock-Space-Shuttle-with-Solid-only-SRBs RocketPilot573's Poseidon STS: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/72036-Poseidon-STS-Stock-Space-Shuttle%21-%28Includes-cargo-bay%21%29 Gue_1's Space Shuttle Endeavour mkII: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67210-Space-Shuttle-Endeavour-MkII Amloris' Space Shuttle Atlantis: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36120-Space-Shuttle-Atlantis? 5. Pretty hard to follow the instructions, but I still give the shuttle a go (only using the parts listed): -Coming soon- Many of the parts you listed aren't the size you think they are, and some don't attach the you think they would. I really recommend you to buy the full version it's worth it! You can wait for a sale if the current price is too high. BTW, the KR-2L is a 3.75m (huge) engine, and wouldn't work for the Falcon Heavy.
  6. You can modify the shuttle how ever way you like. I took the easy path and made a panel to lower the part count. The original shuttle had a reattaching door, but it didn't really work. BTW, look at the spec bump! Specs (v2.0): Max capacity: 4 mT to 80km orbit Total thrust at launch: 2155 kN Combined thrust of boosters: 1582 kN Thrust of each booster: 791 kN Combined thrust of SSMEs: 573 kN Thrust of SSME: 191 kN Specific impulse of SSME: 376s Orbiter mass: 20 mT fueled Specs (Block III): Max capacity: 5 mT to 200km orbit Total thrust at launch: 3422.7 kN Combined thrust of boosters: 2821.2 kN Thrust of each booster: 1410.6 kN Combined thrust of SSMEs: 601.5 kN (105% thurst) Thrust of SSME: 200.5 kN (105% thurst) Specific impulse of SSME: 375s Orbiter mass: 20 mT fueled
  7. The mission was going so well until I collided with the launchpad... in space. A rescue mission will follow.
  8. From sea level to orbit, you'll need more than 11km/s of delta-v and a TWR greater than 1.7. Good luck.
  9. That's the exact same technique I use for most of my crafts! It's great for crafts that require advanced fuel flow (e.g. one-and-a-half stage rockets, Space Shuttles).
  10. So, has anyone tried to use an asteroid?
  11. The fuel lines on both tanks feed into a non-fuel cross feeding part, which then feeds into the orbiter. It is crucial to stop the fuel flow between the tanks first (with a part between the nodes) or else only one tank would drain at a time.
  12. Beta release of Block III: http://www./download/1ex20vhfmr1g9hq/Odysseus+STS++Block+III.craft Tell me what you think!
  13. I lasted exactly one day and four hours before I needed to install KER in 0.23.5.
  14. More accurate cutoff speed (with 5 ton payload): In orbit: I had to attach the boosters individually because of the symmetry bug. Everything should be working fine now, but some of the clipped boosters are a bit misaligned, and I'm too lazy to fix it.
  15. Also, can you help me balance the SRBs? They're very frustration to tweak, mainly because I'm encountering a bug where the tweaks would "forget" I set them as.
  16. That is to provide electricity to the second stage so it can be controlled and deorbited.
