  1. Well, mines really small. And doesn't really look like the plane, but I built it in 2 minutes.
  2. It doesn't say that you can't use rockets for retro burn.
  3. Why now have detachable canards? That was what I used to get my starfighter off the runway.
  4. Pretty easy, actually did it by accident trying to land on Minus
  5. Your landing also remin my first landing on the mun. Good job!
  6. I don't think the X3 needs that many parachutes, because of the denser atmosphere, the parachutes should only need to slow the rocket down to ~35 m/s on Kerbin.
  7. Oh, okay then, I never actually tryed landing it on water.
  8. Well, for my rover, that was intended, as I wanted it to look like curiosity and because the only time I tested the wheels was after it landed.
  9. If you land on the water with under wing engines, wouldn't it destroy the ship?
  10. near the reply with quote button and for the url, you forgot to end it with
  11. Inspired by your rover, I made my own: Kuriosity. It is't the best rover, but it's pretty good for 1 hour of work (building the rover, testing the rover, building the skycrane and launch vehicle, launch, landing on the moon, and finally, exploring the moon). Controls: q right turn, e left turn, L forward, j, back, b brake, g landing gear. Downoad: https://sites.google.com/site/giggleplex777/-crafts/Kuriosity.craft?attredirects=0&d=1 Landing it is quite similar to your rover but has to be closer to the ground. Pics (sorry, I forgot how to use spoilers): Cruise stage Sky crane fly away and crash Beside Mun rock
  12. Buran! With a An-225 ..or a space shuttle on a 747
  13. If you don't care about returning to kerbin, you can make a much smaller rocket than the ones you have here. All you need to do is make a normal sized mun lander and add parachutes to it. The launch vehicle probably only needs an extra fuel tank or two reach escape velocity for an eve transfer orbit using the lander to do some adjustments since you can save some fuel with parachutes. After that things should be pretty straight forward.
  14. Well, here's the download: https://sites.google.com/site/giggleplex777/-crafts/Mun%20Rover%20II.craft?attredirects=0&d=1 (My random site) I'll make a post later. Pics: On the moon The rover
  15. Wow, I've been trying to do the same thing. Only thing is, I gave up on the sky crane and a descent stage underneathen the rover was what I ended up doing. I'll make a download for it later. Anyways, great design you have there. BTW, for the rover, why not power it with rcs?
  16. I made a (stock) mun station that includes a rcs rover. The descent stage is very stable and can even return to kerbin. The rover itself can also return to kerbin. I'll make a download if you ask.
  17. I made a glider named: 'Polar Express'. I was originally designed to be launched like SpaceShipOne, but I failed to build a carrier aircraft for it, so I straped on some rockets 8). It can be boosted into orbit and glide back safely. Please note that it is rocket powered and can glide as soon as it gets off the ground. Note the low profile if the plane, as explained above^. On the north pole with Bill Kerman! Download: BTW this ship was renamed, its originally name was 'SpaceGlider' https://sites.google.com/site/giggleplex777/-crafts/Polar%20Express.craft?attredirects=0&d=1 Enjoy!
  18. Yup, the heavier the rocket, the harder it is to take of and get into orbit. That\'s because the heavier the rocket the more thrust it needs to take-off, therefore, more fuel is needed to feed the engines, making the rocket heavier. Smaller rockets may seem pathetic, but as long as the rocket can get into orbit and still have enough fuel to burn to the moon, land, get back into kerbin orbit, and retro-burn (your lander should have enough fuel for that), you can, well, land on the Mun (and even Minus)! BTW: First post!
