  1. I do hope Nova gets back to work on this some time. I\'d love to put this together in Universe Sandbox. No doubt it\'ll fall apart after a cycle or two, but hey! It\'ll look impressive regardless.
  2. Nope! Chuck Testa I\'ve done it before. Multiple times. Under it\'s own power as well. Just got no evidence to show you.
  3. Or possibly not! It really depends on if Nova\'s been able to keep his hands off the eggnog.
  4. Both. As soon as you turn the ASAS off to make any kind of correction, it\'ll immediately start to roll. If you\'re lucky, it\'ll only roll uncontrollably on it\'s own axis. If you\'re unlucky you\'ve got some kind of rotation going on, it\'ll start tumbling like mad. EDIT: Did some further testing with an orbiter of my own. This model, however, did NOT have the bearcub engines attached. (nor any RCS tanks and engines beyond the one present in the nose module.) Under low amounts of thrust (0 - 75%*), the model could only be 'controlled' while under the influence of ASAS. Under high amounts of thrust (75% - 100%*), the model handled like a brick, but the persistent roll was minimal to non-existent. Compared to the included model (bearcub and other equipment) where any amount of thrust (or lack thereof) would result in uncontrollable rolling. I can\'t, with a clear conscience, conclude that the fault lies with the bearcub engines, but I do seem to have better results in flying without them. Happily awaiting the results of your own tests. Merry Christmas, in any case. * Numbers are very likely not accurate. I was mostly fighting the joystick.
  5. I write axle. I mean axis. Sorry, something got lost in translation there. (in Dutch, we use 'as' for both words) Yeah, like in an aileron roll. It could be something got knocked off during lift off but the debriefing screen gives me a clean report, so I don\'t think so. At any rate, I\'ll try again later, to see if it wasn\'t some stupid fluke. And the fuel line is rather logical fool-proofing. Didn\'t consider that.
  6. Both shuttles you provided love to roll left on it\'s axle. It makes manoeuvring in orbit a royal pain in the you-know-what. Other than that, it flies like a brick. Which is appropriate, considering that\'s how the real shuttles fly! And it\'s pretty good, although the fuel line on the Buran model seems inappropriate, since the engines on the shuttle don\'t actually fire during launch. Only after you ditch the fuel tank.
  7. Nope. Removed the rest of the ship INTACT from the cockpit, added an ASAS under the cockpit, re-added the rest of the ship and took it out for a spin. Tiniest nudge, and the cockpit came rolling off.
  8. I\'ll admit not having watched your tutorial series YET. But I did download the trainer craft (as you know). I discovered something fun. Adding an ASAS right behind the cockpit means you\'ve got auto-pilot. It also means I might as well remove the landing gear, because the cockpit just dropped off upon the tiniest contact with the ground. Other than that, this was one of the most stable flights I\'ve done in a while.
  9. I\'ll need a shower now, but using IE managed to get me the file. Thanks for the help.
  10. Unless I\'m doing it wrong, the .craft file won\'t download properly. All I\'m getting is an 'index.php' file.
  11. It seems that the Intrepid V has some problems leaning to the left after lift off. Gonna try a completely clean install at some point, but multiple tests has both the Intrepid V 400 and 500 with heavy lean.
  12. I\'ll admit I haven\'t seriously tried for the Mün since before the SLS and the adjustments on some parts, but I can happily disagree. The Intrepid II is quite capable of going to the Mün. And if your particular flying style happens to end up short, you can always slap on two extra (vanilla) SRB\'s to give you and extra kick during lift-off. The SLS seems much more suited for longer missions. But again, I haven\'t seriously tested both since I got 1.3.
  13. Did you get permission from the people who made those mods to redistribute them? I\'m going to hazard a guess and say that you don\'t. And more than that... we\'ve got a link to a mediafire and without any pictures on account of a broken PC. (oh, gods... I sound like one of those Minecraft forum idiots. (NO PICS... VIRUS! You know what I mean)) Then how did you upload this thing? I\'m sorry to say that is all kinds of wrong.
  14. I can! I\'d rather wait for the fuel lines. That way the big tank can be optimized so\'s it can be carried up in space without killing out brave Kerbalnauts on the launchpad.
  15. Obviously, 'tomorrow night' has come and gone by now. Any new ETA for the project\'s release?
  16. The SLS is heavily overpowered for a Munar expedition. I haven\'t tried, but I think you\'ll happily be able to shoot for a close solar orbit and have fuel to spare for the way back. That said... HOLY SHIT THIS THING IS AWESOME! Now, if only Deusoverkill would finish their project... damn. I could die happy.
  17. So, what does it take to get you to finish and release the Kliper rocket yesterday? In all seriousness though, that Kliper model looks sweet, and I can\'t wait to get my hands on that beauty. Very nice work.
  18. So, after some... experimentation, I can happily tell you that three of the solid fuel rocket boosters strapped under your rocket with a tri-coupler goes really, really, I am not joking, REALLY fast. As soon as you leave the atmosphere, however, it will tumble like mad. No amount of SAS will counter that. Also, you\'re still burning, well out of the atmosphere. Also, ASAS with control surfaces is... a bad idea. It literally rips the craft apart, right after launch. For the sake of science, I naturally had to launch both crafts (mad SAS and ASAS) multiple times. I cannot, at this time, confirm or deny that these launches were manned.
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramjet So, rather impossible. And beyond that, this challenge is for STOCK parts only. As noted in the first post.
  20. Simply put: Go into orbit around the Mün, and then madly increase the apoapsis towards Kerbin. By the time you\'ve reached the apoapsis, you\'ll be caught in Kerbin\'s gravity, and by then it\'s a matter of decreasing speed to create an orbit around, or fly directly at Kerbin.
  21. Just out of curiousity... do the solar panels actually do something, besides creating drag, or are they just there for... well, looking like solar panels?
  22. When I see the Mk. 1, I\'m immediately reminded of Thunderbird 3. *showing my age here* Very nicely done!
  23. That is quite the beast, indeed. Also, Tiberion: you can zoom out in the VAB. You\'d probably still not have enough room to create it, however. Also, Carol... who\'s trolling here? Somebody posts an image of a craft they\'ve made, and they\'re trolling? What? Even if they\'re modded parts, who cares? It\'s still an impressive thing.
