True. They have the right to receive a product they paid for. They have the right to expect the product they buy is as described. They have the right to expect certain standards of safety and reliability. They have the right to expect the product won't murder their families in their sleep. If they buy blue paint, they have a reasonable expectation that the paint will not only not be red, but will also be paint. The right to dig into a company's private business and employee relations is NOT one of them. How many shares of stock do you own in Squad? Buying a product does not make you a stakeholder. If the question is a reasonable one to ask. The availability of a product and the possible shipping options are. The internal workings of a company are not. Time flows, as does the bourbon. I am being nice. Meh. They have the right to do so somewhere else, this is Squad's personal turf here. Anyway, Squad has posted a response. Two devs have posted a response. Those responses didn't admit that Squad is a bunch of overworked, oppressed peons lorded over by evil, money-grubbing management. Oh well. That's the way it is. Continuing to demand a response after one has been given more response than one is due is ludicrous. https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=kerbalspaceprogram.com If they did, they'd have to deal with an even bigger headache. That doesn't change to fact that this is their forum, and your the discussion/crapping on them is something they choose to tolerate, not something they have to tolerate. Because one has a right, does not mean that they are in the right. Anyway, it's clear that one party is not within their rights. Because people say stupid things, and stupid needs to be challenged by correct information. Yes, let's let this horse lie unbeaten. The easiest way to do that is for people to stop asking for that which they have no rights.
-
Because I'm a slightly drunken ass that is sick of people demanding Squad reveal information they have no right to. Squad has communicated more than they needed to, and it's time for people to just get the hell over it and move on with their lives.
-
Because they have no reason to, nor does anyone here have any reason to expect them to communicate about this matter. That's like saying Squad has not been very forward about posting naked selfies of their staff. Of course they haven't, and no one here would think it appropriate to ask them to.

Docking just hasn't been the same without the sound. It just seems so much less satisfying.

The problem with Allison was that she hit twice. She hit once, dropped a lot of rain, headed up north of Houston, looped and hit the already saturated city again. When Ike hit in '08, they were very explicit in "If you live in zone A, get out. Zone B, we advise you to get out. Zone C, stay put!" They were also block C's access to the evacuation routes until enough people from A/B had gotten out. I hear it went much better than Rita. We stayed at the mother-in-laws in B. Our house was in A, and the water got up to the doorstop. No major flooding inside, but several broken windows, siding ripped off, and a landlord that didn't care lead to us having to leave.
-
I hope all their people are safe and power and water can quickly be restored. After Ike, I was without power for a week, and JSC was shut down for a week while they did extensive cleanup and tree removal.
-
Indeed. I was in the Rita evacuation in '05, and it was hell. Made it across the city in about 16 hours before giving up. Fortunately for us, Rita hit farther to the east. A lot of people were worried after Katrina (even though what happened to New Orleans couldn't really happen to Houston), and people in areas that were farther inland were clogging the people from the coast. Ike, on the other hand, may not have been "major", but it was enough for us to end up living with my mother-in-law for a few months. We missed the eye of that one by a few miles.

It seems to be a pattern that when someone leaves Squad, they drop out of KSP completely. Not that it always happens, just that it's been seen to happen quite often. It's understandable that if the employee in question left on bad terms, they might not want to be involved any more. (Of course, not every employee leaves on bad terms, nor am I assuming that is the case with this group.)

Free speech doesn't really apply here. Squad's forum, Squad calls the shots of what can be discussed here. "Free speech" only means you're not going to get arrested or fined by the government for saying something. It does not mean that everyone has to provide you with a platform to say it. Note that there are bans on what can be posted, like asking for release dates, profanity filters, rules on adult content. These are all limits on speech, enforced by those who run the forum.

Yes. That's how we know that the edge is a giant ice wall that keeps the oceans in place. You might know it as Antarctica. The world government run by the Illuminati keeps people from visiting the edge and learning the truth. By flying from one side of the disc, over the center, to the other side. Molemen. This is why the Illuminati keeps people away from the edge, so they don't get captured by the Molemen. It varies, depending on mountains and valleys and such. Lava is magma that has been forced to the surface. The places where it reaches the surface are the volcanoes. The magma is rock that has been melted by the internal heat of the earth, mostly caused by radioactive decay in the core layer. Of course not. That would be silly. Like other lightbulbs, it's round. It doesn't move. It only appears to move because the disk is spinning beneath it. Gravity from the moon. It's a very big lightbulb, after all. It has a very positive attitude. It just lights up whenever the sun is overhead. The sun's track shifts over time. Sometimes, it's north (hubward) of the equator, other times it's south (rimward). No. It's an even brighter lightbulb than the moon. Surface tension and internal pressure, and ratio between surface area and volume. It's certainly not due to gravity, like is claimed with planets! Optical illusion. Poor instrument readings. The faster you go, the more time slows down. obviously this would cause instruments to operate incorrectly. By pointing at the magnetic north pole, which is not at the same place as the geographic pole. A sphere. Coriolis effect is caused by the interaction between straight-line motion and a spinning disc. So can I. (But it hurts the brain.)
-
Actually, it's pretty easy. What shape is the flat earth? A circle, like a disc. See? As for the "why", it's because a spinning object will tend towards that shape. Haven't you ever seen a pizza being made?

I'm in camp three. ( ZOMG! What the...?? Will KSP have a future? We don't know what's happened, and quite frankly, it's not our business. All we can do is wait and see what happens.) The difference with the restaurant is that you're not buying dinner every night. You bought a meal ticket once, but it's valid every night, whether you choose to continue eating there or not.
-
Better to not discuss things that aren't open to discussion. Yes, it's reasonable to wonder about the future of the game. But that's not what's been happening. People want Squad to tell them all about these developers that have left, and have made it clear that they aren't going to be satisfied until Squad reveals all the dirt*. *And it has to be dirt. People want drama. Some folks aren't going to be happy until they get something from Squad telling all about how badly they treated their employees and misused the company funds etc. A Squad employee has come here and said "These are baseless accusations and speculations." That hasn't stopped the bloodlust. People aren't going to stop until Squad admits that they are horrible people, no matter what the truth is. They could post here, pointing out all the details, and people are going to claim that they're only saying what makes them look good, that they're still hiding something, that they're flat-out lying. Whatever Squad says isn't going to change these attitudes one bit.
-
You say that as though there should be a calm, rational discussion about matters that aren't any of our business.
-
You want Squad to explicitly state that they're not going to release private information about their employer/employee relations, why? You already know they can't/won't/aren't going to. Do you need someone to tell you that the sun has risen every morning, as well?
-
That it's none of our damn business, maybe? That there's already plenty of threads on the subject? <shrug> That it's an internal company matter between an employer and employees that really doesn't involve the lot of us?
-
"No, really! I poured the gasoline on the fire to try and lessen the flames!" "I just wanted to make sure no one was bothering that girl. That's why I was keep such a close watch through her window. Now, I'd like to get back to protecting her, so I'm going to go read her diary while she's out of the house."
-
Fact: Internal issues of private companies are the business of that company and the employees involved. Fact: The above fact won't change a damn thing regarding wild speculation about the inner workings of said company. The "civilized manner" is not to expect details of matters that are not yours to delve into.

Yes, it could. Oct. 10th is a holiday, but the kids still have school. It would be a much better release day.

Paid expansions and previous statements RE paid expansions
razark replied to dlrk's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ah. I see. You're talking about KerbalEDU. Missed that earlier, my mistake. It appears to me that KerbalEDU includes contributions by a party that is not Squad, and is therefore not available in the same way as a product developed solely by Squad. If you feel that KerbalEDU should fall under the "free expansions" covered under the promise (and I can understand why you would), then why would that promise not also include all the console versions? Or do you feel that it should? -

Are they? Or are people just posting baseless speculation that they might? -
[1.10.0] Final Frontier - kerbal individual merits 1.10.0-3485
razark replied to Nereid's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So very glad to hear this. Your long absence had me worried. -
Agreed. But then again, if you were up to something questionable, there are a lot better places to find out than a game forum.

Like the other respondents, I'm going to ignore the fact that you mentioned it and obviously know about it, and suggest that you could just turn the orbits off, instead of replying to the question you asked. (Sorry, I don't know if it's possible.)
