  1. RCS Build Aid might be what you're thinking of. And it's working in 1.2.
  2. Looks good. Having to build for safety and having a reason to use the LES is nice, but I've had problems with the Test Flight mod that are just annoying. Does control surface failure result in the surface no long operating? If so, does it get stuck in the current position, or does it stick in neutral? Is the initial failure logged in the flight log? Nevermind, noticed the screenshot. Can you elaborate on the reasoning for this recommendation?
  3. Why now? Because they made a bunch of changes to the program. It's a much more reasonable time for things to stop working. If things were to just stop working between updates, there would be a lot more questions.
  4. I asked the same thing. It ended up with the mods having to lock and clean out the MM thread...
  5. Whenever you want to use a DVD, probably.
  6. We don't know yet. The author hasn't had a chance to respond yet. 1.2 has only been out a couple of days, and the author has not been on the forum for a month.
  7. I have a complaint. Before this mod was updated, I had gotten used to listening to old radio shows while playing, because space was just too quiet. Now I can't. Indeed. It's one of those things you don't notice until you don't have it, but when it's missing, it seems so empty. The Docking Sounds mod is like that for me as well. Without it, docking just felt wrong. Thanks for breathing more life into the game.
  8. I wouldn't. For the same reason I don't care about the cat: Because I'm usually browsing or not at the computer while the loading screen is up. I rarely even see it.
  9. Why are people so opposed to the cat? I could understand if it was showing up during the game, but it's just on the loading screen.
  10. I was kind of aiming at the point that there really shouldn't need to be a rule. I'd say it's possible to ask without violating etiquette. That's the difference between asking "Are there any plans to update this mod for 1.2?" and "1.2 is out! When are you going to update this mod?" Of course, that only holds true as long as the modder hasn't posted something stating their intent or possible delays already. Edit: Also, asking as soon as KSP updates is unreasonable. Give the modders a bit of time. It's not like they don't know there's a new KSP version out!
  11. I've heard that, too. I think Claw's Bug Fix mod fixed it, though. Did you perhaps have that installed?
  12. I think it's reasonable for people to ask if there are plans for a mod to be updated. After all, some people do move on to other hobbies, or otherwise lose interest in modding. Not repeatedly asking about updates or otherwise pestering the modders should just be common sense, though.
  13. If Squad were to close their doors and cease operations, how would that law be enforced? How do you square that with the fact that all (significant) software contains bugs?
  14. When I bought the unfinished KSP at 0.16, it was fully understood that Squad was under no obligation to ever release 1.2, or 1.0, or even 0.17.
  15. Based on previous experience, you've currently got an eight to ten hour wait.
  16. Four years in the future. Which really raises some questions about your ISP.
  17. Yes, they did say that back in 2013. However, they have also said they didn't plan on making paid DLC/Expansions/etc., and have made similar statements repeatedly over many years. Even now, when they made this OP, they did not explicitly state that they are going to be doing any sort of paid content. Of course, while they did say they had no plans, they also never said they wouldn't ever make paid content. Edit: http://kerbaldevteam.tumblr.com/post/47730955705/expansions-dlc-and-the-future-of-ksp
  18. I replied to a comment that implied that Squad, or someone with the authority to speak for them, said there would not be any paid DLC, ever. Which is not something Squad ever actually said. Going back to the OP, it says nothing about paid DLC anyway, so... ?
  19. Saying "We don't have plans to release paid DLC" is quite different from "We will never charge you a cent for anything else we make related to KSP." It's also different from the promise to make future content available at no charge to users that purchased before a certain date.
  20. Many high-performance aircraft have an escape system, though.
  21. I ponder how one effectively communicates nothing without saying nothing. It's obvious that parts of the community won't accept "It's not your business" on this subject, so just what is Squad supposed to say? Other members here won't accept anything less than Squad and devs stating that Squad is a horrible employer. Squad cannot win. The only way for them to stop this is to say that they are wrong and evil. No matter how much they might be right, or how much it's nobody's business but theirs, people won't shut up about it unless "Squad is bad" gets said by someone with some sort of authority. Squad is no more under the obligation to release that information than they are to release those selfies, or paint your fence, or wash your dog, or teach your children trigonometry, or schedule the cake delivery at your birthday party.
  22. Fact: Squad and developers have not withheld an answer, they have addressed the situation already. This is more answer than any deserve.
  23. I'm sorry, but how is expecting them to communicate effectively any information they have no responsibility to communicate a correct thing? Any time. I can be quite good at it. (Argumentum ad absurdem is fun. Argumentum ab absurdem is this thread.)
