I think it will be soon:they are going into the boats. I wonder if the pod is already in the water.
-
Only 50 persons watch it at the moment of writing this. I thought there would be more people than this...
-
Watch it live,it begin at 11h30(wich mean:very soon). here's the source(yes,it is a copy/paste but I have nothing else to say). Watch live from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT today as NASA and the Navy’s United States Fleet Forces Command conduct an Orion Stationary Recovery Test. Testing will simulate the recovery of NASA’s Orion Spacecraft in the Pacific Ocean during the Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) mission in the fall of 2014. EFT-1 will be Orion's first mission and will see the uncrewed spacecraft launch 3,600 miles into Earth's orbit. After the test flight, Orion will return to Earth at a speed of approximately 20,000 mph for a landing and recovery in the Pacific Ocean. Streaming video will be available on the NASA TV media channel at: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/ustream_media.html#.UgziqLZgObc. EDIT:Can I put a prefix after I posted the thread?

I don't play IL-2,but I play pacific fighter. It's made by Stuvmorvik and,fro what I can see,it's the same principle. In that game,I've found a funny bug that drive you to orbital speed,I can't manage to control the plane at those speed, but once the plane got to orbital altitude. Unforunatly, pacific fighter don't provide a planetary map BTW:in that game I have been able to return to my base from the enemy base while being chased by the enemy(I don't remember wich plane),but I was using the fastest plane of the game, and, during the chase,I didn't had to worry too much about the enemy fire.

[1.12.x] LCD - Launch CountDown v1.8.0 [23 Oct 2019]
goldenpeach replied to Athlonic's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
In fact, you could easily make a chain of that type(someone who know someone who know someone.....)to Jack King;the chain could consist of only 7 persons, all you have to do is to find them EDIT:Well, tuned out I was wrong only six persons is required ! Here's the link for the source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_degrees_of_separation suggestion: it would be awesome to be able assign some event(like, ingnition sequence start, main engine start, booster iginition etc...)to a certain time of the countdown(example:t-minus 8.9(the ignition sequence of the 5 engines of saturn V first stage was started at that moment). I don't have enough experience in sound manipulation to know wether or not it would be difficult, even if I think it is difficult. Anyway,I have enabled sound just to hear the countdown. Suggestion 2:Can you make the countdown louder? -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
goldenpeach replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I think jeb would make an EVA and use the "jetpack" to control the craft. Good luck for docking that way! -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
goldenpeach replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Some RCS are made from pressurized gas, also I think it would be kerbal to use the CO2 as a RCS fuel. bill:"oh no! we're out of RCS,we can't dock with the CSM to return on kerbin!!!" jeb:"breath, just breath" -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
goldenpeach replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is there a way to edit the amount of life support in the commands pods? Even if there is no way to do that,it's a great mod that add some interesting challenge! -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
goldenpeach replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
The three day is not realistic:the apollo command module(the pod) has only a few hours worth of life support. -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
goldenpeach replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I think that the three day worth of support in all pod is a little too much:I can make an apollo style munar mission without ading anything to my rocket designed in my main save(wich mean:without any life support added). Is there a way to edit that quantity of life support worth? -
How can I know where is that spot? EDIT:Can someone post a screenshot of a free return trajectory with the mechjeb node editor,I have tried several time to make a free return trajectory but I have never achieve one. The node editor would show me the delta-v spent in the prograde marker and the delta-v spent in the radial in/out marker, wich will,I hope, help me a lot. Thank you in advance!

Like the tittle say, this thread is to debate wether or not we should be able to make a simulation of a design without launching it. There would a lot of advantages of being able to make the simulation, especially in career mode: -Be sure that the rocket will work(no money is being wasted in rocket crashes). -Be sure that the rocket have enough fuel to do what it is designed to do There are other advantages, but this is the "main" ones. BUT,there is one big disadvantage, that make me wonder if a simulation system should be implanted:cost of designing. If we were being able to simulate a design, the cost of designing a new rocket would be really low while in real life, designing a rocket and testing it cost a lot. Also,if we can't do the simulation, each time we would have to complete a new goal(like making a space station),we would have to wonder what's the cheapest:taking an old rocket and doing multiple launch or creating a whole new design that could achieve the goal in one launch. Thank you for reading!

Does is work in 0.21?
-
It work. I have added it to my munar craft(mun orbit rendezvous),it wasn't needed but it was cooler, and it worked perfectly!

Make a wish... and have it horribly corrupted!
goldenpeach replied to vexx32's topic in Forum Games!
The rocket is made by Jebediah and crash. (I know,it was an easy corruption) I wish I could make a rocket(and use it,of course) -
Curiosity's 1st Year on Mars
goldenpeach replied to MalfunctionM1Ke's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I renamed my interplanetary rover to Curiosity and made a duna mission. ps:how can I embed a picture? -
Stupidity vs Intelligence
goldenpeach replied to jBar's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Thank you! I had the feeling it was on the orbiters forums but, after I have checked the first post made by HarvesterR,I tough I were wrong. Thank you for checking the others posts! -
Stupidity vs Intelligence
goldenpeach replied to jBar's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
No,I remember I have read(don't ask me for the source,I forgot it)that the courage was determining how a kerbal would react to the danger, the stupidity woul determine the "capability" of the kerbal of detecting the danger. The Badass flag was determining if the kerbal would be excited by the danger. Don't quote me on that,it's just something I recall and I don't even remember the source. -
bigger sepatrons
goldenpeach replied to goldenpeach's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Thank you! Now I will be able to make those escape tower(that doesn't mean I will do it:Jeb doesn't need it(soucre:Jebediah Kerman) and it save weight)! -
A question about the calculation of the delta-v
goldenpeach replied to goldenpeach's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Thank you! I didn't think I could consider all the engines as one engine and doing the isp calculation on that "engine" By the way,There is an error in the wiki:the exact equation for the delta-v is: Ve*ln(m0/m1) where Ve=ips*surface gravity(9.81 m/s) m0=masse of the rocket before the burn m1=masse of the rocket after the burn Anyone know how I could make the modification? -
bigger sepatrons
goldenpeach replied to goldenpeach's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
What would be a realistic CGF edit? I am not very good with balancing the parts, specifically for the weight, drag and thrust(ok,I am not very good at editing,as I find difficult to balance nearly everything!). -
bigger sepatrons
goldenpeach replied to goldenpeach's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah,I id the same thing with the one men pod. The only problem I found is that the sepatron was making the way to the ladder harder. Anyway, thank for the mods! -
bigger sepatrons
goldenpeach replied to goldenpeach's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
My issue is not the weight bu the part count, this is why only one of my rocket have an escape tower, this is why I think that bigger sepatron could be useful. I make my escape tower so they can escape the rocket even at full throttle. Anyone know a mod wich bring bigger sepatron? I think I remember one but I didn't find it -
This suggestion is very simple:adding sepatron which has higher thrust than the current one. Why? Actually, everyone who have made(or tried to) a escape tower using solid fuel will understand this suggestion:when you do an escape tower, the sepatron are the only thing you can easily use(you can use the SRB but they are really heavy). The problem is that you need a LOT of sepatron to make a decent escape tower. You have the same problem if you try to put JATO on your plane. This is why I ask for bigger sepatron:with bigger sepatron, you would need less sepatron to have the same result, wich mean that you will use less sepatron;this mean the escape tower will be easier to make. Also, the rocket will have less parts, wich mean less lags! Thank you for reading!
