  1. It has half the trust of the LV-1, not too shabby. If you use it on a small probe, you can get pretty good TWR out of it. Certainly higher than some insane LV-N designs. You can even use it on Manned craft if you design it well.
  2. Most of this stuff is kinda redundant or added by other mods. The only real advantage I can think of is the ION-2. Maybe the thin 2.5m monoprop tank.
  3. Nope. It's probably just Ion Xenon or even just something that looks cool.
  4. Now that we have decently giant Mk3 parts for spaceplanes, I think that we very much need the RAPIER to be a 2.5m engine. Maybe also a small model for a 1.25m version as well, but to make a proper SKYLON-like spaceplane, we need the high thrust of a 2.5m part. To facilitate this of course, giant air intakes and for completion, jet engines as well, would be needed.
  5. My Mom always wanted a train set, but she was afraid her parents wouldn't like her playing with what at the time was a "boy" toy. In retrospect, she says, she thinks they would've gotten her one. I always thought of Train Sets to be universal toys, like building blocks or toy people. (Although the latter have gender specific names, Dolls or Action Figures) I also like to think Trains are in many ways predecessors of Space Travel. British train drivers in the golden age of steam-locomotion (1920s) were as well known as astronauts, and the American transcontinental railroad was mostly built for political reasons, much like the Apollo missions. So Kerbal Train Simulator confirmed. - - - Updated - - - I found a toy kit of Capsela at the beach house we would stay at at the beach, and it was really cool electric building toys. Unfortunately I lost the parts, and when I got a kit for my birthday the next year, it was missing a vital component.
  6. Distant Object Enhancement. And you can remove all debris by going to main settings and setting max persistent debris to 0, then loading the game, then putting it back to normal(250) or unlimited.
  7. This was a fun experiment! Five prograde launches, Three retrograde launches, and also a station for good measure. Each launch had 32 debris attached that were spun off in various directions. Unfortunately, I played copywritten music during some of it and Twitch automuted some of it. I'm an idiot. http://www.twitch.tv/gregroxmun/b/619275744
  8. This is just the best ever. Did you know that they don't even use PURE OXYGEN in passenger aircraft? Not even first class! - - - Updated - - - Nothing more than a beautiful effect. I've seen it a few times. It, like rainbows and their potential double-flavors, can be seen in several sizes.
  9. Will Karbonite parts be directly updated to work in 1.0 (And use the new (old?) models?)? Like, will saves using Karbonite be compatible with stock, and have their parts changed to be the new stock parts? Does that even make sense?
  10. Looks like the forecast has actually cleared up in the metaspace leading to KSP. So there's no need for the two-thousand-dollar refit that we are almost finished with. *twitches eyes*. Well, throw away the shell. I thought the hypetrain voyage would be nice and aerodynamic because of aerodynamics coming, but nope! Turns out metaspace isn't affected by Kerbin at all.
  11. Do you mind if I release my little modification of your texture here? It makes it more contrasted, a bit brighter, and makes the storm red and a bit bigger and swirlier. I won't release the texture until I have your permission.
  12. It'd be cool to have a version of the LANTR that looks like Ven's Stock Revamp's LV-N. Actually, now that I think of it, a tankbuttless version of the Nuclear Lightbulb would be nice too. And Fuelswitch for the small fuel tanks. And fuel-only "Shiba" mini-nuke. Turns out they do this already. And I discovered the Shiba did this too late. Dead-weight oxidizer was a bit of a problem when Jeb tried an imprompu landing on the Mun with what was supposed to be a Shiba-testing orbiter. But I succeeded.
  13. You're forgetting about gizmos, the avionics ring will fit on the pod fine if you lower it down a bit. And there isn't a reason that the stock Mk1-2 doesn't have a heatshield. No reason at all. That's why people have made parts to stick under the pod, so that it can have a heatshield.
  14. I don't suppose you could add to the list that I'm a livestreamer, could you?
  15. Seems kind of cool and then OMG STEAMPUNKS AND TRAINS AND LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS OH MY.
  16. Well I guess I don't have a purpose in life anymore. And the rectangle of water, by the way, is actually from the modified config that I use in my configs, which happens to bring back the good ol' lake from the 0.15-0.17 terrain engine. In my configs it looks fine, and it looks like it did back then (with the proper ground color of course) I don't know how to get rid of the rectangle, that's just why it's there. It's visible here and it looks mostly the same in Jumbo32 and Jumbo5x.With Ike, Dres, Pol, and Eeloo being relocated, iirc, it's a really bad idea to use RSS's renaming function. Not even the RealSolarSystem config itself uses it. Redescription should be fine.
  17. It wouldn't ruin saves. If you, say, use HyperEdit to make Kerbin orbit Jool, satellites orbiting Kerbin will still orbit, until you switch to them if you're outside of the SOI and you suddenly escape. Not in a super glitchy way or anything though. You would potentially screw up any missions en route to Eeloo, but it's possible you might be able to reroute them to GP2.
  18. K^2 is the pioneer of being right on the internet. I did a whole day of black hole philosophical thinking using what I know about black holes and only basic laws of math, and I came to the concusion that you would approach the black hole and see the universe end before your eyes, and as you cross the event horizon (assuming a supermassive one so you don't get torn apart), you cross the speed of light barrier and then you're travelling backwards in time from the death of the black hole until you're a decent way down, where if you had a telescope, you'd see the past unfold at mostly normal speed, maybe even be able to see yourself moving away from the event horizon. None of this aided with any math more complex than a 9th grade U.S. education. I think I heard of a novel that predicted some of the same stuff, but I can't find it. Take this with a grain of salt. Just something to think about.
  19. This was a bug with Jumbo32 as well. Will fix. It's caused by the Sun's mass is this.
  20. I thought I fixed that. It shouldn't look like that. Will take a look later. You are using the latest version, right? I set Gilly to stock, and Pol and Bop should be 1.6 times normal scale and still be just as bumpy. - - - Updated - - - No idea. Check for mods known to be incompatible with RSS. (If there are any) Send the logs to NathanKell or post them in the RSS thread, it's probably a bug with RealSolarSystem and I don't really know how to interpret logs.
  21. Whenever I used a Radish in the old HGR, it was almost always a 2.5m spacecraft because it didn't look good on either 1.875m or 1.25m parts. Making a mercury pod using the Mk1 pod and using a re-entry pack that's 0.625m doesn't make the craft a 0.625m craft. And KSP users almost always use 1.25m tanks under it even if they could go down or up. The utility of the radish would be greatly expanded by allowing you to go directly to 1.875m or to use an adapter fuel tank to make a service module for replica craft. Then there's just the fact both the Apollo service module and the Titan Rockets were silver, so the Rockomax tanks fit them best as a rocket stage. That's pretty minor, but perhaps at least a tad bit relevant.
