CLASSIFIED DOCUMENT SSP Eyes Only We have reviewed a press release of the Kerbal Space Program of Director Scott Manley. A manned orbital laboratory satellite has been launched. Press release claims that the satellite exploded upon launch into Kerbin Orbit. Upon review, we have found this to be incorrect, as an object with some large amount of structural integrity was detected in the same orbit a mere few hours later. A detector was unable to detect any return vehicle returning to Kerbin, but leaked files from our spies have shown pictures of a jet-powered re-entry vehicle over the Western ocean. Proof that a spy satellite existed was not available until the High-Altitude Orbital Object Tracking Station was launched an update later. The Spy Satellite was found and an Anti-Satellite Missile was quickly launched to destroy the satellite, which had not yet gathered enough data to beam down more than simple blurry pictures of Kerbin down, and the capsule that holds he film was verified as destroyed. Scott Manley still did not get off our backs. He later organized a high-budget exploration of all anomalous readings. The space program gathered too much information about the unidentified objects. Under the newest of Director Manley's space programs, the Interstellar Quest has uncovered the evidence of the dead Kraken recently. A high amount of distraction will be required during our newest endeavors, And we are sending an intern, Rofurt Kerman, to infiltrate his space programs and hold them back as much as possible.

This operates on THIS timeline. CLASSIFIED DOCUMENT We received this letter from one of our interns working on the field at KSC. Hugo Kerman will be getting a raise. The Document in question has been thoroughly discarded into the sun, and research has continued. We also have confirmation that Maldrin has, in fact been killed in a spacecraft launched by Manager2462's latest contraption. We also have since gotten confirmation that his friend, Sherfrey Kerman, was in on the conspiracy, and has also been shipped to Space Orbit around Kerbin2462 to be "rescued" by Danny.

The Tech=0 Challenge Collection
Whirligig Girl replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
No, but I've seen others do many of these. Never seen Tylo or Eve or Laythe, which is why I want to see it. But that's not the point. I just want to see what other people can do. -
Gregory "Jebediah" Bohannon. I like the sound of that.
-
1) No Exploiting of glitches 2) No MechJeb 3) wonder where the heck all the randomly spawned Kerbals come from!

The Six Words You Never Say at KSC.
Whirligig Girl replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Discussion
In my space program, the six words you never say to your vall-entine is "Let's never let girlbals fly rockets." My space program is not sexist, you see. -
VERNIERS! OMS! Yes! EDIT: Ninja'd, so I'll use this post to add something useful. THIS might be technically an early-early-early access version of 0.24.
-
I like to think there's a secret space program that pays companies to say that the secret agent kerbanauts are from their companies. They exclusively use HGR parts and only release announcements of their mission when they are successful.
-
Danny, "rescuing" a random Kerbanaut. Where do random stranded Kerbanauts come from? I mean, In-game lore-wise, not code-wise. Are there other space programs, does the Kersoviet Space Program kidnap engineers from VacCo or Flooyd Dynamics? Are they from other player's Space Programs, secretly launching from the same site? Also, I REALLY WANT TO SEE OMS AND VERNIERS!
-
You seem to be thinking that's a bad thing. This was always the plan for KSP, and Mission Control just added it earlier than it would have as a mod. Really I think 0.24 is going to be way better than Mission Control.
-
I don't think it could recover.
-
I think a simple GTO would be plenty for a publicity stunt. ESTES MOTORS. NO ONE HAS FIRED ONE IN SPACE. And they're so Kerbal to do so.

The Tech=0 Challenge Collection
Whirligig Girl replied to Whirligig Girl's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I think it should stay in challenges, after some thought. -
We have to make sure it's well known that this is a Kerbal Community project, and hope that it gets endorsed by Squad. There's about 1.5k forumers on the KSP forum at any one time, so if everyone contributed 10 dollars we'd get somewhere around 10k to 20k. I'll be contributing my fair share.

How about a small container filled with a diet soft drink, and another container filled with a mint candy. To begin thrust, simply put them together. An Electrostat thruster for 3U would increase the price by about a third. We'd definitely need some serious Kickstart to get this done.
-
Really this would be a user-made publicity stunt, so we don't have to go interplanetary. If we do, then at least a 2U sat with an electrostatic prop system would be necessary. going to Venus would be easiest, as it'd require much less Delta-V than going to Mars or further. The Moon would be the easiest extraterrestrial site to visit, and could probably use a 1U Sat if we pack things most efficiently. Really, GTO is a noble goal for a relatively small community like KSP. - - - Updated - - - I suggest we move this discussion to another thread.
-
I really want to see an Estes motor in space. It'd be way more Kerbal, and it's not like we'd need to raise the orbit by much. Electrostat thrusters would add a very large amount to the cost. I think if the computer and guidance system is small enough, we could fit a C6-P motor inside the CubeSat 1U. Also, the outside has to have the Kerbal Space Program logo on it.
-
I wonder if we're serious about this. It would be so amazing to have the KSP Community come together and put a thing IN SPACE. I vote we put it in a Geosyncronous Transfer Orbit. I also want to see how an Estes model rocket engine would fire in space. Hook a C6-P motor and igniter to the electical system, and use it to raise the orbit at Apogee.

Welcome to the forum. Try reading some of the forum rules and guidelines. No pics, no clicks. Also, if these are just ships, put them in the Spacecraft Exchange. Use of emoticons, especially on the thread name, is generally looked down upon. Use Emoticons in moderation.

[0.90] Stock Drag Fix - Mar 19, 2015 (BETA UPDATE)
Whirligig Girl replied to Starwaster's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am aware this happens in real life, but I don't think it's fun for a game about absurdly-made rockets. I use it with 6.4:1 Scale Kerbin. -
Real Solar System: Humans.

Jupiter still only has Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. -
You came to the KSP Forums to say this. Bad place to say that you can't stand KSP anymore.
