  3. At first I was indifferent to female Kerbals, but Sirrobert, _Aramchek_, and sanoj688's arguments have swayed my opinion. I now strongly support the addition of female Kerbals, implemented similarly to the image in the OP. In addition, I find it interesting that some of the most vocal people in this thread are the ones who claim not to care about the subject matter. For reference, people who truly don't care about a thing generally do not attempt to win an argument about said thing.

  5. Falling from space and landing on your head is often a "flight you can walk away from" for a Kerbal.

  7. In 0.23, you can use a Kerbal to transport data. So you could get the data out of the SSTO, recover the Kerbal, then send another Kerbal (or the same one again) using a capsule and perhaps a vehicle on the launch pad. But, yeah, what you suggest wouldn't be a bad feature. Then again, are you refueling your SSTO on the surface? If not, then you'll only be able to use it so many times, might as well recover and relaunch it, just call it "maintenance" to appease yourself. Ninja'd...

  9. Yeah, the actual computation required for simulating the orbits of the planets and moons themselves is trivial for modern computers, even with a spacecraft being simulated at the same time. The real issue would be, as mentioned, the inherent instability of the Kerbal solar system.

  12. I find the MechJeb pod decoupler works well for the underside of rovers, the lower profile gives better ground clearance.
  13. The devs have already made it clear that KSP is not a war simulator, so the only chance of that happening is with an extremely flexible modding system.
  14. DYJ has already rejected the idea of making an IVA for the Crewtank. I attempted making one, but currently there is a bug that causes non-command capsule IVAs to be positioned very incorrectly and impossible to align. So, a fully featured (i.e. windows) Crewtank IVA will have to wait for a KSP update.
  15. I like the idea that they ascended to intelligence last week when some small lizard-like creatures happened upon a Munolith. The monolith technology has advanced in leaps and bounds since its part in the rise of man.
  16. Look at the mountains above my ship and you should see that the brighter mountain seems to be moving relative to the darker mountains, as if Bop was made of two bodies that intersect each other. That's definitely a bug.

  18. Ok, yeah, KSP definitely doesn't handle multiple interiors correctly. I modified an ORDA pod to use its matching interior, and stacked it with a matching regular command pod, upside-down.   19. I've been working on an interior for the CrewTank since last night. However, I'm having alignment problems. I managed to get it pretty well aligned when the CrewTank was attached to a mk1 pod, but as soon as I attach it to any other command capsule, it fails horribly and goes completely out of alignment. So, basically, I'd like to find out if this is a bug in KSP, and multiple interiors are impossible at the current time; or if I'm simply doing something wrong.

  21. Alright, this is a simple, slightly self-promotional challenge: download my Panels mod, and make something awesome using it! It won't be strictly scored, just try to make the coolest thing you can. The only rule: Make something you think is awesome, using at least one panel in a non-trivial manner (don't just slap it on to something you already built!). Beyond the obvious spacecraft, spaceplanes, and space stations, some great uses for the panels include: - Boats - Buildings - Trucks
  22. Is there any chance you could put Damned Robotics on Kerbal.net? I use it in mosts of my crafts, and it would be nice to be able to include it in the required parts.
  23. It would be very helpful to be able to include off-site mods in the required mods list. Ideally every mod would be on the site, but the world isn't ideal, and many mod creators don't know or don't care about Kerbalnet.
