  1. I found a pretty neat what-if mission! As an alternative to the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, some McDonnell Douglas engineers proposed a joint mission called the Skylab-Salyut Space Laboratory. It was eventually decided against, considering that modifying the two stations would take a lot more work than the ASTP project. It's a neat idea though, and one worth recreating:
  2. Cool man! I know whatever you make will be great. Also, Stock Bug Fix Modules as a good fix for the decouplers; I am also disappointed that it hasn't been fixed yet. I like your spaceplane as well. Although I don't think I'd want to be sandwiched between the boosters like that!!
  3. Very true, the TKS helped a lot with MIR and the ISS. It will be interesting to see how much the Orion is used in comparison to the Dragon and CST, especially if the ARM mission gets canceled. Which it might, considering it's not at all popular in Congress. Really the only people interested in it are the President and Charles Bolden, and Bolden only probably because he has to promote what they tell him.
  4. Sure, I can understand that. A three person CARV would still be great though, although I think 3-4 seats would be better than 2 or 3. The CARV would fit so well with the ATV parts you've already made, and like the Apollo D2 and Fuji it is a really fun little journey into what-if.
  5. There has been some discussion of a high capacity (5-7?) command pod for a while. I think making the Crew Transport Vehicle (CARV) would be a good choice! Because the ATV is already so big, I think it makes sense. Also, from a role playing perspective I really like the evolution of technology it suggests: From unmanned cargo carrier, to two person + cargo carrier, to high capacity command craft. Despite it not happening in real life, it seems like the sort of thing a space company/administration might do. So yeah, I'd say have the two person variant you've made, and have an alternate CARV.
  6. It really is a loss! Not the first time something like this has happened though. The TKS had a number of unmanned test flights, and the Buran made one as well, and yet neither of them saw manned use. Hopefully the Orion won't turn out that way!
  7. Personally I like to build my own SM's most of the time. Unless a craft has a really unique and special one, I don't think a specific part is required.
  8. Huzzah for .90! Very glad Tantares is working just fine with it. Also, the new ATV looks great; I love the little windows. I think two kerbals would be quite snug in there. That way you could string together a couple of ATVs to make a modular space station.
  9. The plane parts and the CST-1000 all look great! I would agree that the Mk1-2 is pretty boring right now.
  10. She'll be watching you! ( á° Üʖ á°) Oh goodness! I feel like this should be inside the Fuji OM
  11. Sorry, I should clarify: they have a TWR of 1 or higher at the Mun. For these kinds of craft I use the Mun as my base measurement for this sort of thing; if they can make it there, they can make it almost anywhere (Laythe, Tylo, Eve excluded!)
  12. They're really fun little ships! These ones all have a TWR of at least 1, so landing isn't too difficult. I wasn't really aware they were a thing either, until I started to checkout some of the Jool-5 challenge entries. This guy in particular made some impressivly tiny ion ships: tiny ion explorers .
  13. A few ion landers I've made using Tantares! Tons of Delta-v, good for grand tours. A small one person lander, works on most moons! A two person, quad engine lander. Works on most moons, although fewer than the one person lander. Probably a bit sloppy and over engineered, but still good. So crinkly! All folded up. *Warranty void if used at night.
  14. Beale: Just a small thing, but right now the Fuji OM is in the propulsion category.
  15. Sorry to hear about the C: drive! I'm glad you're sticking with the mod though; these are some really great parts.
  16. #Awkward. I know now Schipa's version is the best for some non-musical reasons! That OM is very pretty. Each of your ships look better than the last! We're going to be seeing some pretty impressive stuff in 2050.
  17. HA! I love that song! What are the odds you'd select it?! Well probably pretty good actually, considering you're from Italy. Still though, quite a coincidence.
  18. Oh man, the Fuji and all its associated art is so crazy. Like many others, I do love that big yellow ball. The part of me that wants realism though is more attracted Malaysian OM.
  19. Beale, you seem to be on a quest to cut down your texture footprint as much as possible! I'm sure Kerbal players everywhere appreciate this!
  20. Very pretty indeed! Shame about the D2, but thanks for remaking the Fuji.
