  1. I plan on, as I acquire more books, to continue updating the image in the first post, until it's just a pair of hands poking through a wall of books. Whenever I acquire some sort of steady income (or any income, period), I have a hunch that accumulation will kick into high gear, and I'll hit triple digits within a year. Note however this isn't my entire collection of books - just what I've consciously purchased in the past two months. There are probably a few thousand books of various genres all over the house.
  2. Don't have one within easy reach. And, it's not very well stocked without a long request process - the only science fiction they have is a bunch of stuff by Orson Scott Card. That, and I like having it as my own anyway.
  3. I have a problem. I discovered the used book market. It's like a steam sale that never ends, with thousands more things than you're ever able to buy. It is wonderful and terrible. My current acquisitions number at eleven twenty-one sixty-two. I am starting to wonder if I need professional help. So, readers of the KSP forum, can you sympathize with my plight? Have you undergone a similar experience? Have you already buried yourself in books and are typing your reply with your last choking breaths?
  4. It's just how the parachutes work. You can find a tiny chute model before they're even deployed, I believe. The model is scaled up upon deployment. In this case, it looks like it just didn't animate.
  5. Mm. r4m0n has had lots of work lately, so I won't hide that it's been glacial. I've been taking a diversion from game dev in general to focus on music again, and have also taken up writing, which I wish I had done sooner. Don't worry. We'll get back to it before long.
  6. It would be nice to see some love given to easter eggs in general, they've been a bit neglected and are sad now.
  7. What? Dawn was launched in 2007 but it only just arrived at Ceres this year.
  8. Oh sure, a 3 km deep canyon is soooo boring~
  9. It's almost like the 1.0 release went too smoothly, so something had to be done to fix that
  10. ... Anyway, the only place I can think of the 10,000 dollar figure as coming from would be the old royalty thing. IIRC there was an obligation to upgrade from free to pro if your revenue exceeded 10,000 dollars in a year, or something like that.
  11. Could you screencap that? Because I see this:
  12. I'm really not sure what you're talking about... 10 grand? It's $1,500. And, with unity 5, they removed most of the limitations from the free version. The only one off the top of my head is a "made with unity" splash screen when you start the game. But, I don't think there are any actual restrictions in the engine's systems in free vs paid.
  13. Well, for the making of multiplayer, it would've been easier to integrate it into the heart of the game from the very beginning, but that's not how events transpired. Not laying blame, just stating how development went. Multiplayer was originally a "no way", until it became a "maybe way", and now it's an "eventually way". The problem is, now it's like the equivalent of trying to replace a cylinder on a car, while the car is running. It's gonna be a huge pain in the rear, and I extend nothing but sympathy for those who have to make it happen.
  14. For a moment, I thought you said 0K and was a bit frightened.
  15. I noticed that too. She looks sorta... dead-eyed. Not all there. All the kerbals on that scene need some attention I think, and random animations like on the lunar scene (doing somersalts or something) Another idea - pop her on the Mun in the other menu scene. Maybe as The Builder Of The Castle, maybe as another kerbal trying to dig out the lander with a sample scoop or whatever is available.
  16. Agree 100%. I have never really gotten the viewpoint that having a delta-v meter in particular or detailed engineering info in general somehow makes it impossible to improvise and goof off in the game, as has been implied by statements in the past. Just hope that's reconsidered, I think it's really important to the game, for the reasons you specified.
  17. Radiator parts would be a great way to help this out. The heat can stay the same if they come along. Heat management is a mechanic sorely lacking in almost all space games.
  18. I agree, with reservations. I don't think not being one of those roles should invalidate feedback entirely, given that makes up the extreme majority of players. It's of course equally unhealthy to take suggestions from the masses at 1:1 face value but there's a balance to be found. Certainly more people need to learn how to be constructive though, and conversely, many need to acknowledge that complaining/criticising does not mean that you "hate the game" (even when done in a polite way). I think on the whole (there are always exceptions) everyone just wants the game to be all it can be - engineers, developers, or otherwise. As an aside, some things that are "wrong" are hard to quantify with data. It's certainly possible for something to "feel" wrong - for example the wobbly camera - without there being direct information explaining why.
  19. Breaking news! Temperature in hell reaching unprecedented low levels!
  20. You're a jerk, sir, and made me mad until I tried to quote you.
  21. I will agree with the sentiment that parachutes are a... bit strong. https://gfycat.com/OrganicSlimDiscus (Sorry for green specklyness, gifcam does this sometimes)
  22. Lemme guess - lots of stuff blown up, nothing really put into space, lots of stupid jokes, and a very poor representation of the game's features?
  23. I don't know if this qualifies as an easter egg, to be honest. More just questionable asset re-use
