What do the antennae values mean?
spikeyhat09 replied to spikeyhat09's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
honestly i was hoping the throughput one would be the amount of data loss... but ended up with the same loss rate when using both so -
apologies if this is a duplicate thread, or if im being stupid, but what do the antennae values mean? the two i have unlocked are the long red stripy one (comunotron 16) and the new white rectangular dish one (comms DTS-M1). the two have different values, but im not sure what the values are changing: packet size transmission interval total throughput id like to know which one is better, but i have no idea what these values are if someone could tell me what the difference is, that would be helpful, thanks

1. this isnt the career mode in its entirety, this is one portion that you will have to do when career mode is fully fledged. they plan on adding more aspects besides research and development, and it still needs tweaking. 2. while it is possible to get all the parts in just a couple flights, the majority of users (especially newer ones) will not get that far that quickly. one of the purposes of this is to ease new players into the game, instead of throwing them 200 parts and saying "have fun!". while you may be able to gather a bunch of data from all over the kerbin system in one flight (with countless goo containers), new players will take baby steps, maybe just starting with a simple rocket launch, then sub orbital, then orbit, then a munar flyby, etc.

What do you think the Mystery goo really is ?
spikeyhat09 replied to ouion's topic in KSP1 Discussion
HOW TO MAKE: MYSTERY GOO MAKES:5 containers worth materials: sledgehammer Blendtec Total Blender® Blendtec Total Blender® teflon sheath 5 teflon containers of desired size and shape 20-40 floz fluoroantimonic acid 1 kerbal 3-4 companion cubes steps: 1. insert the teflon sheath into the Blendtec Total Blender® 2. smash the companion cubes into chunks with the sledgehammer 3. blend the companion cube chunks into a fine powder with the "incinerate" button (if you catch my drift) 4. pour the fluoroantimonic acid into the mixture 5. make an incision into the small of the kerbal's back 6. pour approx. 6 floz of kerbal blood into the mixture and blend 7. pour the mixture into the teflon molds, and allow to set for 30 days 8. now you have mystery goo! -

lol it released as i was typing that

im actually surprised that people even have to ask... everyone here probably knows that as soon as the update releasesthe forums will be at a standstill. the page wont load, and then you'll know.
-
great idea. perhaps whenever i make a new thread, ill make another one that has a link to the first one, just to show that its there ;D
-
umm make a sandwhich, maybe do some homework, and watch youtube? what did you expect? im gonna do some godd*mn science!
-
im beginning to see why they dont give release dates, just a heads up of one day and the whole forum is flipping out and making silly unecessary threads
-
its not just the mainsail. it also happens with the atlas, and maybe others as well. also with the large nuclear engine, although im not sure if that was included in the latest update or if i just installed it from the KSPX mod a better solution is to just not use the orange tanks, and to use the grey ones instead. putting the quarter tank underneath sometimes causes things to go wonky, especially if you have a really massive load on top, its just too much for the small tank sometimes. and using the orange one only saves you 1 part anyway (whoop de doo), its not like your going to get any major fps increase from using it

Lol.......

Balancing career mode and sandbox. How are you going to do it?
spikeyhat09 replied to Motokid600's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If you aren't going to play career mode, why bother updating? If you are going to play career mode, what would you need mods for anyway? they would just lessen the challenge, as career mode is supposed to be - a challenge -
does it have moons? id like to see a picture or two, if someone would be so kind

So, its the 'When will 0.22 come out guessing game' thread
spikeyhat09 replied to Sir_Tramalot's topic in Forum Games!
hmmmm ill say 15 minutes. 20 minutes tops. -
Possibly the worst decision the devs have ever made so far.
spikeyhat09 replied to BeefTenderloin's topic in The Lounge
its just boring. its like someone just drew up some letters in ms paint and turned it into a font. typfacing should be an art, not something people just throw together. in any case, shouldn't it say "!orgilep¡ Aicneic Sasoc" instead of "Danger! Science Stuff" i mean, why label a module with a language that the kerbals can't even read? -
What if KSP had an ESRB Rating?
spikeyhat09 replied to ExplodingRocketShips's topic in KSP1 Discussion
im 95% sure this is a duplicate thread. lot of deja vu may have been from the pre-2013-forum-collapse though -
lol theres like a million of games like this. if you want us to find that one youll have to include a link

KSP is a "black hole" if you know what i mean. once you've passed the event horizon (or in this case, having your first successful mission), there is no escape.
-
yup. its just you. its not like this has ever been discussed before. I sure as hell do not want a feature that would greatly increase the part limit bottleneck, no that would be totally pointless
-
Post some of your huge rockets for distant missions

It's funny because Whackjob wins and he hasn't even posted yet -
I find it interesting that the legendary builder Whackjob has purportedly only reached Duna, at least according to his signature
