I'm not going to tell you to keep playing or give up. all im going to say is that if you give up, you are missing out on a lot the game has to offer, and possibly one of the best games out there. Rome was not built in a day (or a month for that matter). it isn't fair for you to play for 2 months and give up because you can't get past the mun. the people you see making it look "easy" have been playing far more than a month or two. hell, 2 months after i started playing, i don't know if i had even reached the mun. yet now, more than a year later, ive mastered nearly if not all the concepts used in the game, and have reached every body at least once.

It technically isn't a planet. From Wikipedia: "The International Astronomical Union (IAU) defines a dwarf planet as a celestial body in direct orbit of the Sun[1] that is massive enough for its shape to be controlled by gravitation, but that unlike a planet has not cleared its orbital region of other objects" Definition of a planet: " A planet is a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, ( has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, and © has cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit. A 'dwarf planet' is a celestial body that (a) is in orbit around the Sun, ( has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium (nearly round) shape, © has not cleared the neighbourhood around its orbit, and (d) is not a satellite." pluto fulfills two of the three criteria. it is in orbit around the sun, it has sufficient mass to be nearly spherical, but has not cleared the neighborhood of its orbit. It is like Eeloo, the only dwarf planet in the kerbol system, since it is the only planetary body that crosses the orbit of another.

Am I the only one who's creeped out by the Mun?
spikeyhat09 replied to Odo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
its a video game. come on guys. does the moon creep you out IRL? -
What would happen to this community if pewdiepie played KSP?
spikeyhat09 replied to notfruit's topic in The Lounge
ayfkm. what do you mean what would happen? here's what would happen. a youtuber would make a ksp video. perhaps squad would sell a couple more copies. the average ksp player IQ would lower slightly. exciting. -
If you leave because of that, you lack faith in yourself. you claim to slay level 100s as a level 20. perhaps the next level 100 is topping this. please dont leave D: edit: also, does the challenge call for no PART mods, or no mods period? ie would subassembly loader or editor extensions be legal? loollolololl

you have. i believe Eve is supposed to be the Venus analog
-
what if the atmosphere of uranus-analog has oxygen? then getting off wouldn't be so bad.. with such a thick atmosphere, wings would be super effective!

0.22 question: How will anomalies affect science gain?
spikeyhat09 replied to Gojira's topic in KSP1 Discussion
perhaps there will be a hidden warp-drive-esque part that is only unlocked once you have visited a certain number of anomalies, or perhaps key anomalies -
This question is silly. it is not squads job to come up with objectives for the player, thats part of what makes ksp so great - the player can do whatever the hell he/she wants, for whatever reason he/she wants. but for the sake of argument, some examples maybe we will just send probes there, that dont have to come back maybe it IS possible to return, but many times more difficult than eve, so only the greatest of KSP engineers can do it or perhaps someone just wants to set up a permanent base there, with no intention of ever returning
-
go back with bigger and badder crafts. maybe the first time you simply got a little stationary lander down (like the phoenix mars lander). next you return with kerbals. then you bring a little buggy with you. before too long youre drag racing with mainsails over the hills of Duna

why not just put another RCS tank on the other side? is the extra 0.01% mass increase really gonna drag ya down?
-
depends on the size of the craft. for small probes and vessels, it really isnt worth it. however, when your interplanetary cruise ship weighs in at 1200 tons, the extra isp helps a lot ksp is always a tradeoff between patience and inefficiency

built this today.. pretty proud of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HR6WIzmxPyo

personally ive always thought that kerbals possessed both male and female sexual organs. or perhaps its a very sexist society like ancient times on earth, and only the men are allowed to be kerbonauts?

Who here has landed a usable aircraft on Laythe?
spikeyhat09 replied to thereaverofdarkness's topic in KSP1 Discussion
not just a USABLE aircraft, but a stock SSTO -
The hardest thing in KSP for me is....
spikeyhat09 replied to Dimetime35c's topic in KSP1 Discussion
getting to moho. ive only attempted once, and i still ended up getting there anyway. its not easy because of the huge delta v, inclination, and its not very circular. -
the dark structural bits have retardedly high impact resistance. just stick a bunch of them all over the craft pointing outward

Can someone tell me why I am wrong? (single threaded physx?)
spikeyhat09 replied to Cannibal's topic in KSP1 Discussion
they are going to have to update physx at some point, or else unity will die. its just a question of when. -
What do you think qualifies as a base?
spikeyhat09 replied to SuperWeegee4000's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I hate to be that guy, but... = none of the above nah i take it back i love being that guy -
Would you delete stock parts to stay under the 4 Gb limit?
spikeyhat09 replied to nhnifong's topic in KSP1 Discussion
i can hardly stand having so many mods to the point that i have to page through in the VAB a lot. -
Alarming article from Polygon (let's be good to our devs, okay?)
spikeyhat09 replied to KevinTMC's topic in KSP1 Discussion
you can't please everybody. on the internet, people express their ideas freely, perhaps a little too freely. its bound to happen. its inevitable. -
the problem with these threads is that the data they gather is not accurate. you also have to take into account that the older you get (or perhaps if you are very young) you will be more inclined to lie about your age, also it is probably the case that certain age groups are going to be more willing to vote in the poll at all
