  1. I never understood why would we need those. IRL planes don't need such things. At least not those I am aware of. Decoupling a part of fuselage of your plane would seriously mess up it's aerodynamics and CoM. Mk2 parts are dedicated for atmo uses. And you want those to take-off and land in one piece. For other stuff you take long cylinders.

  3. Yes. Forgot to mention those. Probably because I use them so rare. And the 2.5m decoupler too.
  4. My cat decided once to munch laptop power cable. He bit it in half, so I decided to use the old trusty silver duct tape to fix it. It's still taped and works perfectly. Not a big thing. The cat is fine btw.

  6. That's a cool idea. I always thought it should be a thing in stock KSP. Though the lenght of a signle recorded track could be... lenghty.
  7. I remember there being scenario packs, but now we have actual contracts and they are obsolete. I think I played a mission or two made by some forum user, but that was before career mode with it's contract system.
  8. I think there should be certain parts which Kerbals could transfer through and some that wouldn't allow it. Unless you're cool with imagining they get liquified and transported through some sort of piping system installed in trusses. A full IVA movement isn't really needed IMO.
  9. No, no, no. Nova in his Alternis version got rid of ambient light in space. Basically if you were on the dark side of planet it would be pitch black, unlike in stock game where you can see the spacecraft even when there's no light source shining on it.
  10. I noticed that atmo skipping like IRL shuttle Apollo did (and what i menaged to do in NEAR) isn't really possible. At least I couldn't replicate that. I'm guessing it's a drag problem. Would be awesome if it was possible: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skip_reentry Apart from that the new aero is pretty awesome E: after some research it seems only Chang'e and something else managed to do that, but it's possible.
  11. @Byter: there were two versions of Gilly in original Alternis. One was a comet and another was orbiting Kerbin. The one around Kerbin was more buggy IIRC. I prefered it as a comet tbh. @Amarius: any plans to implement the same lightning system Nova used in his version? The one without ambient light in space. I remember it being way smoother and with even more FPS than the stock game.
  12. As much as I would love to discover lifeless, Alien-like (the film) ship wrecks floating around the solar system I believe this is a part of "What Not To Suggest" list.
  13. This thread feels more like "I know unity cant do that, but heres my amazing overclocked rig specs, AMA" I'm pretty sure once Squad gets an opportunity to make KSP run smoother and more optimized they will do that. They always did their best to make things as smooth as possible.

  16. Harv made the Ravenspear (dont remember the name. the one with 4 jet basic engines) IIRC.
  17. Plane parts: jet engines and tanks. They have less polygons than rocket parts and connected look terrible.
  18. I will keep avoiding them for other things than asteroids anyway. Because they spawn satans. And don't look as elegant as pipes would. And are clawy and scary.
  19. Same. The system one was a bit off with its pointy point and I always had to guess where should I click to move that one strut instead of the whole tank the strut was sitting on. It was the main reason I avoided playing in windowed mode. Now we have the new one, which doesn't look half bad and points right at what it should be pointing.
  20. Putting The Claw on anything is like placing the vessel on a sacrifice altar for the Kraken.
