I agree but I think most of these should actually be in the base game (like KER and the promised revamp) not a DLC. Can't like your post though (all the rep went to the modders).

I'm not against paying for games or DLCs. I'm against milking. This game isn't even finished. There were so many things that were promised and never introduced. And now what we are being offered are things that mods offer (with fancy UI). OK, I see the point of supporting the project to get something out of it/see it going, but at this point it feels like one of these Kickstarter projects, except without a clear goal and a bunch of things others already offer for free. It's just the way I see it. I would buy a new game. Not this. EDIT: To be clear: I've just checked and it seems I got the game in 2012 so I'm getting the DLC for free, but I'm still against it.

Well, to be frank, there are better ways of making money. What this is is just another way of saying "Oh, boy. This ship is sinking and we need YOUR money to patch it" I suggested making a new game many times. Releasing DLCs for an unfinished one is just ridiculous. What's next? A delta-V readout DLC? And a TWR calculator one after that? I've read enough overhyped posts from people who came after the Shmelta-Vee and procedural craters for all the planets announcements to understand their way of thinking. No point in saying "We'll see about that" since we simply won't see anything. SQUAD never revealed how much money they earned in total. It's been discussed and it has to do with cartels so let's not continue this topic. It doesn't matter how much it will cost. It's probably one of the last money grabs anyway. Talking about fun-per-dollar: fair enough. KSP always was a great modding platform. The base (unmodded) game and fun? Hm... I have nothing against DLCs as long as they add something no mod can add. That list up there? I've seen it done already.

I'm not paying anything for that DLC. All that can be in the game for free. You've just hit rock bottom with that announcement. Now, excuse me. I'm off to give modders as much rep as I can because they actually deserve it more than the thing that happened to this company. EDIT: And I'm out of rep

1.3 And More: Confirmed Features
Wjolcz replied to Garrett Kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Wow, this sucks. I'm not paying anything for what can already be done with mods. Good luck making money on that, @SQUAD. You will need it.- 188 replies

BTW if we're talking alien life we need to take a look at what happened on our planet. And if Snowball Earth actually somehow triggered the explosion of multicellular life then Europa and Enceladus should be prioritized, instead of Mars, when it comes to search of ETs.
-
I feel like discussion about whether there are other planets with life is a bit pointless. We can't say yes and we can't say no for sure. But if you ask my personal opinion then yes, there has to be life somewhere out there. It would be a waste of space if there isn't any. Shame any radio-operating civilization isn't closer (like 100 light years from us). Would be fun to listen to them and learn.

There's only one place in the Kerbal system I would like to see a volcano or two: Laythe. If you think about it it makes perfect sense. It has a thick atmosphere and is near a gas giant. What do these two things have in common? Tidal heating. And tidal heating = volcanos. And active volcanos = lots of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases = thick atmosphere. Imagine a pile of smoke coming from behind the horizon and the big green ball of gas above it.

So when is the reused stage flight? By the end of March?

please make manuever nodes easier to use
Wjolcz replied to yog-sothoth's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The problem with this is that the node widget moves with the future orbit. If it didn't then it would be confusing to adjust. Let's imagine a thing here with a widget that is stationary (doesn't move with the future orbit): You create a node on a circular orbit around Kerbin. Your vessel has enough TWR and dV to turn this prograde orbit into a retrograde one with the same Ap and Pe. You grab retrograde bit and pull it all the way until your future orbit is the retrograde one. Now the normal bit is antinormal and antinormal is normal, prograde is retrograde and so on. It's a bit hard to imagine, but hopefully you can tell that you have to deal with mirrored controls. That is why it would be better to have some sort of Precise Node mod stockified instead. -

By having a choice you have a choice to challenge yourself. -
Why is this one expendable? To get more dV out of it?

1.3 - What will it have?
Wjolcz replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It was, but then a decision was made to include 'something that rhymes with "Shmelta-Vee"' (<- quote from one of the official SQUAD sources) and then the idea was suddenly dropped for no reason and the guy who said it (one of the community managers, IIRC) was fired shortly after. So my guess would still be that it's some law stuff. I mean, it makes sense. Creator of KER "sold" the code to the Kerbal Edu guys because he knew Kerbal Edu wouldn't sell well and he could get still more money from people who donated. Either that or Kerbal Edu team doesn't want to share it. Whatever it is, the way the development of some things is working in this company is mind boggling. No roadmap, features are being dropped, we get even less info because of the potential community rage over promised but not delivered features. At this point I just wish KSP wasn't SQUAD's. -
1.3 - What will it have?
Wjolcz replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
@Arugela well apparently it does have something to do with the law. If it didn't we would have had KER integrated into stock long time ago. I think it's just like distributing mods. You can't just download someone's mod, post it on forums and say you did it unless you have contacted the creator and he gave you the permission or the persmission to redistribute was in the OP from the start. If you think about it it's pretty much the same thing we are discussing: SQUAD takes someone's mod, integrates (AKA redistributes) it without any permission and now that person is less likely to have money donated to his/hers Patreon because the mod thread became obsolete (since it became stock) and nobody is visitng it anymore, thus not sending any money to the original creator. -
This is how baby saturns look like.

1.3 - What will it have?
Wjolcz replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I feel like the number of people knowing English is enough to not make much of a difference in their income. However, localization is a pretty basic thing every game should have so there's a chance they are finally trying to integrate essential features into the game (dV, TWR, Transfer window planner, etc.) They can't. We had a thread about it a while back and someone who knows how all this legal stuff works said they can't simply integrate it into KSP. I'm not exactly sure why but I think it has to do with the code that is being used (it's KER in the picture) and the fact that Kerbal Edu is some other dev team (SQUAD but not SQUAD?). They pretty much have to reinvent the wheel in order to deliver it. -
1.3 - What will it have?
Wjolcz replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
We can always bump this one: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/151149-the-kerbal-franchise-other-kerbal-____-games/&page=1 -
If your Mainsail has a range of Isp it can operate on then you should see your doctor about that. This is not an RPG game. I can accept having a weapon with damage from X to Y in Skyrim, Legend of Zelda and such. But this is KSP, dammit, and the engines' efficiency should stay consistent no matter what (unless upgraded in VAB or with some proper gameplay mechanic given to the engineers)! It would be so ridiculous to see the same vessel/rocket perform differently because of who is sitting in it. I don't even see it being useful in any way if it's just 5%. If I see the "oh, but it's kerbal so doesn't have to be real" argument again I will go mad and start posting threads about antigravity and FTL devices all over the place because, if I understand correctly, every person supporting these kerbal amulets idea will also support "my" ideas. Not much difference for someone who believes kerbal pilot magicians should be a thing, right?

Better Looking Farings

Simple white/grey texture would do just fine. -
Nope. It was smaller. 2 engines only. EDIT: Got it! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handley_Page_Hampden Same manufacturer as Halifax apparently, so thanks for mentioning it. For some reason "Hampden" is too hard to remember for me.
