  1. EM Drive? I need to see it generate thrust in space first. Solar sails were discussed many times and were considered too slow and boring to play with. The ice drill and this water rocket thing is already kind of a thing in the form of ISRU. More real life experiments? Yes, please. To the ones you mentioned I would add: -Magnetometer -Cameras and telescopes (visible, UV, infrared, microwave, microscopes, stereo, etc) <-this is how biomes should be detected IMO -Robotic soil scoop -Meteorological station -Particle and dust detectors
  2. Classical multiplayer in KSP will never be fun. It will either be lots of warping and lots of waiting for others or paradoxes and syncing problems all over the solar system. Imagine going to other planets: you send a probe to Duna and go all 'Eh, it'll take some time so I will just set the stop warp where the Duna's SOI starts and wait for others to warp until then and go to sleep.' Then you wake up and face one of these two scenarios: your probe went by Duna and now is in solar orbit never going back or people got frustrated waiting for your orbital insertion burn and left and it's not a multiplayer server anymore. Throw at me any other examples of a multiplayer "mission" and "fun" and I will prove you how convoluted and problematic it can get. There are other ways to introduce multiplayer to the game, like the indirect one with milestones set by the other players but none of theur ships appearing in your universe or even the mission control (which would be the most fun IMO), but then it wouldn't be this classical multiplayer many want so bad. Seriously, if anyone wants to experience MP "fun" just have a go at DMP. My experience was more or less like this: sitting in the VAB/SPH, syncing, warping, more syncing, more warping, wasting fuel because of sync errors, syncing, warping and performing one docking with my friend with a lot of issues during that. Then we decided to never play it again. SQUAD should consider creating a game designed for MP from the start. One in which there's no warping and either atmospheric flight only or Alcubierre drives. I would argue a flight sim would be the best option. Just look at the BDA and FAR showcase threads and the BDA AI dogfight tournaments. I bet these people would love to have a game in which they are able to actually pilot their contraptions and shoot each other. I know I would.
  3. I don't think there should be any alien life in the game but more like hints. So for example: you take a surface sample on Laythe and check it under the microscope or sth and the results show it's life building blocks that came from other planet within the system. So you go all "To the Batmobile!" and go exploring that planet for more hints like this that lead you to even newer places.
  4. For me the rescue contracts could be gone and I wouldn't cry. The fact that kerbals cost more and more to hire and the only way to eventually get them are rescue missions is annoying. That's why I just cheat them in and name however I want.
  5. This makes no sense. Which is good because this game is about space exploration.
  6. Uh-oh. They really are unlucky with these second stages. Hopefully they aren't trying to cut costs?
  7. RTL = Return To Land? Would make sense since it's an LEO mission. I almost typed 'LKO' instead 'LEO' again. Also a daylight launch and landing. Looking forward to that.
  8. As said by others: everything is pretty much in place, unless we're talking about procedural craters Mun has. Still waiting for other planets to get them. But I also think the game still lacks a lot of ground-based experiments. IMO things like robotic soil arms/drills, magnetometers and cameras which yield actual data could make searching for interesting sites much more engaging.
  9. Ok, let's assume for a moment the devs DO add weapons to the game. What will you be shooting at? Trees? Water? KSC itself? It's not really an argument about whether it's realistic or not to have militarized space program but about gameplay. This game will never get a stable and working multiplayer so Star Citizen or War Thunder-like dogfights are out of the question. Guns need multiplayer to be fun. And multiplayer in a spaceflight game is pointless unless it's a turn based strategy. And even that would be pretty hard to enjoy. More waiting than shooting and playing.
  10. I really almost spat my coffee after reading this. Fat chance. I really doubt they will be adding any big features and changes in the future updates. The game is already "released" and "complete", amirite?
  11. Pretty cool idea for a mod or an easter egg. And I mean the sky city concept.
  12. Just paste the link and it should appear in the post automagically.
  13. I've seen enough requests of this type to think an MMO aviation sequel with kerbals is more than a good idea. Or make a proper game focused around it and a few other things instead of trying to solve all the issues KSP has just to make it work. Not much fun shooting static targets in a singleplayer game. That wiould get them lots of $$$ too. I would even argue they would make more than on a crappy DLC.
  14. Why would you want to have this extra "media" roleplay step in career? I think it's unnecessary. Career and strategies should be as simple as possible to avoid complications and limitations the current system has.
  15. Not only that but also the fact that it would be pretty much the same game would mean the dev time spent on reinventing the wheel (or rather KSP) vs the money from this reinvented wheel would probably not be profitable enough since we already have the wheel. Maybe it's not perfect but it rolls just fine (especially when modded). IMO they should go for a SimplePlane alike, since SimplePlanes actually took a lot from KSP. They should take a chance while this building/flying/sandbox genre is still (kinda) fresh.
  16. Flaps in KSP do absolutely nothing. I remember when I once tried to use flaps on the wings and because they were behind the CoM the plane just nose-dived into the ground. Now, I don't think KSP needs this level of aerodynamics simply because it's (and should be) more about spaceflight. However, and I know I've stated it many times, if devs were ever to create a new game about aircraft only and with proper aerodynamics I would fully support it.
  17. I agree. A few simple sounds could really improve the game. Not sure why you're posting this in Development Suggestions though. Stock game could use it too.
  18. Yo, it's ya boi and the career is sooooo bad. Like super bad. Not a bad idea, but I'd prefer some sort of mission designer where the destinations and objectives are set by the player. After all it's the player who should run (or ruin) their space program, not the other way around.
  19. You don't. Just accept the truth you are here forever.
  20. Oh, I forgot to name the probe. Maybe call it 'QSat'.
  21. And here's the whole album: http://imgur.com/a/5a27V It has about 5000m/s of dV. Can't go at full power but bonus points for the looks, right? The only modded thing is the KER chip module.
  22. I really wish I had as much motivation and time to play this game as you do. Amazing vehicles. The Rat rover and X-18 are still my favourites.
