  1. Why is it than when i want to start my engines, particularly on my aircraft / spaceplanes i have to press the release stage button before my engines will spool up? it defeats the purpose of having a low orbit probe releasing spaceplane
  2. Does anyone else have a problem with pressing space to activate engines and the payload covers popping off?
  3. you did better than me, i can't even get into a stable orbit around the main planet.
  4. I downloaded mechjeb the other day and i've been using the mechjeb pods for my creations, since most of my creations tend to end in disaster.
  5. I was testing a rocket today with a random kerbal at the helm, and things were fine. A while later, none other than Jeb himself is at the helm. My multistory rocket collapses, one stage after another in a truly epic display of explosive explosiveness. Of course Jeb is smiling the whole time, and the command module survives so Jeb gets to live another day.
  6. At the moment i use various mods which add a few items to the mod while im still learning the game.
  7. I'd give it a shot, but first i actually need an aircraft that will fly.
  8. You can disable engines by clicking on them? That's news to me Thanks for the craft files too, im sure i'll be able to learn a thing or two from those. My main problem is pitching forwards on all of my aircraft, so thanks for the balancing advice too
  9. Hi folks, i was wondering if anyone has clear and easy to follow tips / tutorials for designing a VTOL aircraft? mine never do well at all and would appreciate the help
  10. i can use the prop engines just fine, but the coaxial rotor system and vtol fans don't like my aircraft. Is there a specific way to use them?
  11. Kodemunkey Aerospace Technical Briefing "Starwing" The Starwing is the result of countless hours of research and development* The Starwing has been created to fill the need for a working aircraft** The service ceiling varies depending on the engines the client requests. For surface to surface operations with standard engines, 15,000 feet is its standard operating ceiling. With the toridal "airspike" engines, the operation ceiling is roughly 41,000 feet. Future upgrades for the Starwing include payload launching system and fuel drop tanks. *Many rather spectacular crashes. **Seriously, this thing flies.
  12. That looks useful, i think i'll download it.
  13. Also, how do i angle my launcher to launch my rocket?
  14. My spaceplane runway and surroundings are littered with various bits of spaceplane debris, and even entire empty aircraft that i've managed to land via parachute. How do i get rid of the debris? It looks cool and all but it makes the javelin challenge almost impossible to attempt.
  15. Thanks, though there's a lot of debris around my airfield at the moment.
  16. Really? I'm gobsmacked. I just wanted to post an image that was co-incidentally taken at the same time that i found out he died.
  17. The Mun came over my horizon at almost the exact time that i found out:
  18. 704: When you have a parachute deploy on your spaceplane at the same time that your engines are spooled up to maximum.
