  1. They have Mun- and Jool-sounding names: Hir Thaer Fahr Füd Haut Culd Seerup etc. I figure the early land explorers weren't a very imaginative bunch. Most were probably just looking for lunch.
  2. Thanks! Working on it.
  3. Cool map! Although, I've already given my own names to landmasses. They won't come up much except for when the story leaves the main city to visit other places. Thanks, Rocket and Thomas. Much appreciated.
  4. Thanks. Yeah, there are stories in the works. Have to design all the artwork for characters, outfits, environments, and props...like waffles. Very important.
  5. That is just a teaser silhouette for the character reveals. Speaking of...
  6. First teaser image for new name of series (since the stories won't all be just about Kerboom). Been working on these stories for a while. The expanded series features five main kerbal heroes, with Kerboom's story shown first and origins for the others coming after (origins nearly always involving the rare "Blutonium-3" and an explosion). I am currently building the main city where many of the stories take place, located about 10km north of KSC on the coast. Adventures will spring up in this city, at the space port, and out in space.
  7. Yeah, still looking at getting mugs made. Standard production quotes were too expensive. Looking at local suppliers for a more limited run.
  8. Thanks! I'm hoping this month I can start releasing images again.
  9. Nothing I can post yet. Drawing what I can in my spare time. Hopefully this month I can get the origin story up. There is one thing though. I've been pondering the whole straight-up superman outfit thing. Maybe I'll post the new color schemes/suit styles I've been working on that nod to the guy but isn't such a direct copy.
  10. Figured I show the slow process of bringing this story to life. Below are a few sketches showing the early steps I go through in blocking out the story. Usually it starts with a few seconds of sketching, then days of thinking (there may or may not be hands zooming around with sound effects at this point), then a few more seconds of sketching, some more days of thinking, then refining the sketching in blue (I like blue), scribbling in some colors, and thinking some more. Then finally come the hours of cleaning up the image, shading, adding shadows and highlights, effects, then words. Sometimes the pace will be too quick (such as the bottom flow) and I'll go back in and fill in the missing parts of the action so that the reader knows what is happening.
  11. Once I finish designing the final parts I do plan to print them through Shapeways. Mainly I need them for my Spaceflight board game, but if you guys like them I'd be happy to put them up for order. Yeah, I think those would work nicely for the spaceship mugs, as they would appear to be hanging about in orbit. For the space station module mugs I think a rack would be suitable, so that they all line up as if they were berthed together.
  12. I usually spend a few days making something after I get an idea, and I haven't sketched anything yet except jot down a few notes about Hitchhiker's Guide. So we'll have to see.
  13. Thought about it but I don't know if I'll have time to work on anything. I'm sure I'll get some free time to come up with something just after it's too late.
  14. Thanks! Agreed. I think fuel processing is definitely the minimum needed for any resource system. lol. Thanks. I think it needs just a few tweaks before I can put it up in a store for those interested in getting them.
  15. That looks fantastic. Nice work.
  16. Heh. Yeah, some will work better than others. Will have to experiment with what sounds good and has that silly, whimsical feeling.
  17. Thanks! No, just had to pause for a bit cuz of my current work load. A lot of clients decide to throw projects at me right after the holidays and it takes time to get through.
  18. This was a chart I made years ago before the kerbal size was changed, so this is obsolete.
  19. Finished the shuttle mug design! As a proof-of-concept it turned out rather well (although I could do without drawing all those thermal tiles again). I am working on some designs inspired by KSP parts. You can see the final artwork on my Deviantart page.
  20. Thanks. Well you never know what may change. We shall see.
  21. Tried my hand at a low-part resource flow that could still teach young students about the joys of ISRU. I figure this truncated flow would have 9 parts: 4 types of collectors (gas, liquid, subsurface dry, subsurface wet), 4 types of storage (general gas, general liquid, general materials, radioactive), and a processor to magically convert any of them (one process at a time of course).
  22. I guess my choice of mashups gives me away. I'm a child of the 80's.
