BROKEN [0.90] TextureReplacer 2.1.2 (20.12.2014)
Tommygun replied to shaw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I just added Active Texture Management and it did not crash my game, but it did strip away all the modded textures and set them back to a default look. Edit: I went back and removed Active Texture Management and the modded textures on the Kerbals are now back. -
[1.1] BDArmory v0.11.0.1 (+compatibility, fixes) - Apr 23
Tommygun replied to BahamutoD's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Could you give each weapon something like a limited KAS storage module to their part file? Basically you are storing ammo boxes in the weapon. You just right click on the weapon and the Kerbal carrying the ammo box places it in the weapon's virtual storage area. For example the 20mm cannon can store only 20mm ammo boxes and you don't see any boxes stuck to the side of the vehicle. -
Odd orbit in tracking station

Yes, it's something new sense the last time I used finePrint. Thanks for the input. -
Odd orbit in tracking station
Tommygun replied to Tommygun's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I have these mods installed. I first noticed it after I installed the Science Alerts mod that has a temporary fix to it. This just occurred to me; could this be from Fine Print? Edit: The more I think about it, I think it is Fine Print. -
Rosetta, Philae and Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Tommygun replied to Vicomt's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Nice video, I didn't realize determining it's gravity was that difficult. -
When a red giant swallows a much denser neutron star does the neutron star go straight to the core or does it orbit inside the red giant?

I'm not sure how big Bruce Willis would be in this picture? -
Mitigating Deep Space Travel Acceleration
Tommygun replied to Mr Shifty's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I can't find any medical sources as I don't know the correct medical terms for it. Unfortunately the only thing I can find is about an attempt from a magician named David Blaine that spent seven days under water. The skin on his hands, feet and face started to peel away and were one of the health reasons he cited as stopping. From BCC news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4983768.stm His hands after seven days. -
Spaceships of the future: ChipSats?
Tommygun replied to Frida Space's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Can you get away with smaller probe antennas and broadcast power by having large dish arrays back on Earth to receive their weaker signals? -
Mitigating Deep Space Travel Acceleration
Tommygun replied to Mr Shifty's topic in Science & Spaceflight
With water immersion, humans would have to be in a skintight dry suit all the time, otherwise their skin would start to come apart after too much water absorption. I think you might be able to reduce some of the effects by having the crew live horizontal relative to the acceleration. Not an easy thing ether and may cause log term health issues too. Exoskeletons and implants that help with blood flow may be a way to go and could be combine with horizontal living. As a last resort bioengineering might be the only way to do it. I'm not a big fan of doing this, as I fear ending up with unstable genes years or several generations later. -
My first download for the x32 version took 11 hours stating at 5pm (7 Oct 14) Pacific Coast time, the second download for the x64 version took 10 minutes starting around 4:15 AM (8 Oct 14) and I started that second download about 15 minutes after the first one ended. It looks like the first downloading speed didn't adjust even after the servers became less crowed.

What would you want in the next update (0.90)?
Tommygun replied to EvilotionCR2's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'd like to see more EVA attention at some point. -Things like being able to go to the top of a ladder and then making that 90 degree transition to the top of a roof or part. -A cure for "sea sickness" when walking on elevated parts. -A camera view option for first person view while on EVA. -A lot more science in EVA. -I'd liked to see those animations they where working on for Kerbals doing science while on EVA too. -
It looks like he is using Lack Luster Lab's "KSC++" mod. I think Kerbtown is broken in 0.25 for the moment though. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24906-WIP-LLL-Lack-Luster-Labs-LLL-12-2-10MAY2014-SXT-17a-30AUG2014-KSC-v3

Thoughts on Virgin galactic and spaceshiptwo
Tommygun replied to montyben101's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I liked Arthur C Clarke's take on space tourism. When asked if he wanted to be one of the first tourist, he respond that he did not want to be the first, but the one millionth. I'll go when they work all the bugs out, but I'll probably still won't be able to afford it. -
Wow, I know they aren't finished, but that's a major oversight. There should at least be some very basic balancing. This looks like something that just slipped through the testing?
-
Like this? Edit: That video is surprising elaborate. Nice job.
-
I wonder if you can get science out of them then? I'm guessing you would have to stand on top of them if they do.
-
Yes, I would include it.
-
Not all things science or discovery are pretty .....or dignified.
-
Nothing specific, I just saw that they are both quasiparticles and that Majorana fermions have unusual magnetic properties.
-
Can they have any properties like magnetic monopoles?
