  1. Awesome tool ! a suggestion : Like mentioned before I would really like to be able to make my own SRB's. Being able to tweak between size, thrust and burn time. Mainly because I think the stock SRB's are to short, both in lenght and burn time. I'd like a for instance a SRB about the lenght of 2 orange tanks with 2 minutes of burn time.
  2. With me Jeb actually did less flight time than Bill & Bob. He always flew the ship on which I fergot to put that one part xD like landing legs or a chute
  3. Hey all, I was trying to create a plane which could reach mach 1 in a couple of seconds, and then glide for a long time and finally land. This is the plane I created, while testing the plane I was pleasantly surprised By moving your nose up and down (W & S) the wings flap, this way the plane gains some velocity or altitude without using fuel In thick atmo this plane can practically fly for ever.   5. Awesome would like to fly that line sometimes just to see the debris passing by xD I usually don't drop debris in orbit like doggie015 said. Sometimes when I'm at a 80km roundish orbit with my ascend stage I boost my Ap to as high as possible(saving a little dV), or as high as needed. Then warp to my Ap and brake til my Pe is down to kerbin again, decouple the ascend stage and burn my Pe back to where I want with the NERVA stage. Sometimes do this on mun as well.

  7. So I've been trying to get a SSTO plane into orbit for over a week now, a few days ago I found this thread which really gave me a lot of idea's and insperation. Today I finally managed to get my first plane into orbit, and back on the ground. I literally had had no drup of fuel to spare since I used only 28m/s deltaV to descend xD my orbit was Ap83050 / Pe 70012 (waaaay over the 70k requirement ) while in that orbit I only had 28m/s deltaV left for descend and I actually didn't think I'd make it. Using that deltaV on my Ap got my Pe back to 55km \o/ hooray. After that I drifted out my remaining rotations and with some luck landed on solid ground ! Now some pics, there are no pics acending to orbit since I didn't think this would make it but what I did is take of horizontally, got vertically within 15 seconds from launch, pushed the plane on the 2 jet engines to 10km then fired spike, deactivated jets on 13km. Then flew to 60km Ap and started turning to a 85km Ap and then kinda rounded it out. imgur album All parts are stock except for the engineer, but that only shows me data which I do not concider cheating.

  10. Awesome ! I tried that for some time in 0.16 but never reached orbit. I've used the TiberDyne shuttle system mod which works great but I find the parts unbalanced compared to stock parts
  11. nice great to see that they put some funny things on planets instead of just simple terrain all over. By the way? what mods did you use to make that rover? looks awesome ! especially interested in the weels

  14. I'd like to watch the live streams, as for the challenge I've got an idea. To build a mun settlement, like the mars one project (or hoax, not sure) : http://mars-one.com/en/ hoax or not, seems like a cool idea to put x amount of kerbals on the mun and have a settlement providing them of living space/energy, some rovers and such. maby put some satelites between kerbin and mun for HD streaming for pay per view for all kerbals still at home And do all this in a limited time frame (ingame time)
  15. Hmm I have experimented some with both docking mods (erkle and ORDA) and their effects on warping. Now I have only tried this with carts docked on kerbin surface and with just 2 carts. So it might react different from you way bigger station, containing more docked parts and in orbit. Anyway what I found was that erkle's mod undocks when you warp up or down very fast (like when you're spamming the "<" button when you're entering mun surface in 1000x xD). But when you very gently warp, push "<" then wait 2 secs and push "<" to warp down the ships stay docked. I've tried both warping when controlling one of the docked ships and when controlling a nearby ship looking at the docked ships to see if they undock. Oh and when I warped on 100000x for more than 40 ingame day's the ships just undock without me even de-warping.

  17. Great pics ! I especially like the second picture where you slingshot. I havn't figured out how to utilize gravity assist yet. Did you do the math on paper or use a mod? I assume u precisely calculated your burns to get such slingshot.

  19. Which is not actually a hill. Anyways while Jebediah was scouting for a landing site on Mun when he saw this big arc-ish rock on the surface, He landed his 1-kerbal lander 6km from it. Since he did not feel like walking that distance he contacted his fellow kerbals. Geoffrid landed a 4-kerbal mun base close to Jebediah and the arc. So they had a place to live waiting for a rover. Soon after that Bill & Bob landed a 2-kerbal rover so Jeb & Bill went to check out the arc. Jeb could'nt resist jet-packing up the arc to take some picture pictures

  21. Gratz using a mod which empty command pods or crew tanks you can always bring your stranded kerbals back to kerbin. Landing within walking distance of them is a challenge though.

  23. Wow ! impressive looking space station What mod did you use for docking ? the dock parts do not look like erkle or ORDA. Also, can you warp when on another ship on somewhere else ? or can't you warp in the entire system? *edit* I see it's erkle now, only knew the standart decoupler look for the clamp
  24. Oh that's a mod I forgot to mention in the used mods list link over here : click Cool video something like that is actually possible with the use of mods. I recorded a small example and put it on youtube. Just two simple carts docking but the munar base you mention could be constructed this way. The mod I used to dock : click To dock on surface you do not need to use the computer system (don't need to use it anyways, not sure if you can leave it off the craft). But I put it on my craft anyways, just put a docking target on one craft and a docking system on the other. Then gently bumb them into eachother.
