  1. I tried out the bunker against my retired P-500 Bazalt. The warhead clipped through the armor and destroyed the interior systems, including the module. It's still good armor, but may escalate a vessel's part count.
  2. That almost looks like a crossbred Iranian F-5 upgrade and the F-20 tigershark. :D Here's what I have to say about the coast guard: They're a dedicated bunch, like the actual navy. I'm engineering the FAST tanks for flight experiments, and possible expedited release.
  3. Now that you mention it, I remember why I didn't include them: part count. Seeing the overwhelmingly positive reaction, however, convinced me to start building a variant equipped with FAST tanks. Expect to see it soon.
  4. I attempted a scaled infinity replica on my old laptop... might have contributed in some mobo caps blowing out. XD XD
  5. You do realize that the C-RAM is technically a landlocked naval Phalanx CIWS, right? Even the navy's aegis platforms can be overwhelmed by sheer quantity... About that army guy... maybe he forgot to charge the batteries?
  6. If I didn't have a load of tests soon, I would fling one of my cruise missiles at it. No more bunker... And that's not mentioning Zekes and his flame tank... Also, this is the wrong subforum to post a challenge in.
  7. Yo, the air force has something called C-RAM for anti projectile defense... XD And don't forget the army's Patriot PAC-3 MSE. XD As a San Diegan, I actually get to see one of last remaining F-14 examples. XD XD
  8. Politicians always cut corners. At least we still have an Air Force. I love how this thread is being downvoted for the tomcat bashing. XD XD MORE! :D
  9. RAM is a vital component, but KSP tends to hammer a single CPU thread for physics. That's why I wonder how well it would run on an intel 5820K hot clocked to 4.8 GHz. (NO2 cooling for 10 GHz? ) EDIT: Heck, use a RAM disk. XD
  10. I can run 800 part ships with a FX-6300 and GTX-760. I expect majorjim to have an intel proc.
  11. If you go about in cruise configuration (About 14,000 m at 1000 m/s), approximately 40%. I haven't tested it beyond that, but the different loadouts should affect that performance figure. Also, the F-15 is a master of air combat. The Strike Eagle, however, is also a master of strike missions. You can't hide if the predator can jump you. That's a task for the intercontinental B-1 and B-2. KC-135's are pretty useful.
  12. I fear this thread will die due to a certain roleplaying ban. I expect this thread to last at least another few minutes.
  13. I don't exactly like bashing the Tomcat, but it wasn't a cost effective jet. The F-35C that'll succeed it, however, is worse.
  14. Now that's a replica! It reminds me of my old vulcan. (Except mine was only loosely based on the real deal.)
  15. The thing? Anyways, I'd like to help, but I don't think my schedule will allow me. I'll check back if I can.
  16. 924: KATEC emerges as a naval power in Northern Kerbin, quickly deploying aircraft carriers and Air-defense vessels armed with ASCM's. Guided-missile development is accelerated in harmony with construction of new military aircraft. They approach Zokesia for an alliance.
  17. The F/A-18 is mainly used due to: 1. Ability to operate on American-owned airstrips, AKA supercarriers. This minimizes political obstacles. 2. Lower airframe-age. Some F-15's started crashing due to metal fatigue. The USAF has some good Teen-series jets, but they're all aging. We just like the F-15 due to its combat record. (Over 100 kills for no losses.) That's not to say the Super Bug has a dismal service record.
  18. Since the bench-warmers in the House of Representatives decided to axe the Navy's ATF fighter. They'll have to wait for the sixth-gen interceptors under development.
