Wobbling only got worse. And a small fuel tank also started to dance. I've already posted an image of 2500t N1 that didn't wobble, but these two fuel tanks do! I don't understand what you want to say.
-
Are you serious?! ^Engine is dancing. N1 rocket, ~2500 tons, no launch tower/clamps/etc, no wobbling:
-
I think the problem with dancing/wobbling/spaghetti rockets is that it looks weird and unrealistic. I personally would like to see wobbling replaced with pre-baked animation - for example, pieces of heat protection breaking off, steel cracks and stuff like that. As far as I know engine doesn't support multiple connection joints so there is nothing to simplify.
-
I think the main reason is because the game is very specific. I remember Harv adding multiple improvements to the core so that the player could just fly around the universe without any problems like calculation errors. One of the fixes was to move the universe around the player, not the player around the universe. I think you can read about it in the recent presentation. And of course you don't have to deal with that kind of problems in shooters. The problem with adding content might be very simple: it will increase RAM consumption that is already very high. I remember someone from the team saying Harv works from 8 am to 9 pm in 2011 or so. If Harvester keeps working with the same enthusiasm, it is not surprising he needs a rest after every update. You can even try to look at my older posts from 2011, maybe they are still present - there were times when Harv was community manager, programmer and bug tester at the same time. And it took him only a couple of hours to respond to the submitted bug. I don't understand it as well. I hope Artyom had nothing to do and created that picture as a bonus. 1. PhysX is single-threaded => only uses one core=> low fps with high part counts. Devs can't modify Unity due to licensing model => they can't do anything about it. I think they will be happy if someone buys them UE4 or CryEngine or whatever engine is best right now. 2. I've been using KSP since 2011 and didn't have a single crash in vanilla on Win7 64 bit.

I can't say for sure, but as far as I remember one of OKB-1 engineers wrote Sputnik didn't separate from the last stage of the rocket. It reminds me of the idea of the lead soviet engineer in ~1972: abandon risky 1-launch scheme, build a moon base with two N1 launches by ~1980 instead and invite an american there! But Glushko wanted his own rocket very much...

Shuttle replied to Rockhem's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It is 16.10.13, 8:24 am in Moscow and Steam doesn't download an update. I was hoping .22 would be available 16.10, local time just like BF3 -

Who won the Space Race? Community poll

Yes! According to this article http://www.buran.ru/htm/katapu.htm, there were only 2 ejection seats, unfortunately. http://i.imgur.com/xG8LF3Q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8aMkEIY.jpg -

Shuttle could take off, fly and land on its own? Buran also had ejection seats. I guess you could call this project a rip-off: But I still don't understand why using someone else's experience is bad. -

3 of 4 N1 launches failed because of the unreliable turbopump assembly. Launching a rocket with unstable engines was like playing Russian roulette, one of OKB-1's lead engineers even wrote they should've stopped the whole program until the engines were finalized. Unfortunately, only Korolev could do that with his authority. Also, the whole program cost 2.5 billion $ by 1970 while Apollo budget was MUCH more. And, of course, don't forget about closed cycle engines that are so good americans use them on their rockets nowadays. So, I personally think soviets made two achievements: they've almost finalised 100t rocket with 10 times smaller budget compared to USA (2.5 vs 25 billion) and they've also managed to create extremely efficient closed cycle kerosene-oxygen engines that, as far as I know, have no alternatives in the world -

He is at least a good politician. And I guess you don't know everything about Yeltsin. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/25/books/25bookready.html But Putin is also one of the biggest corrupters in the world, I believe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Putin%27s_Palace http://www.rbc.ru/rbcfreenews/20130408172047.shtml http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-07/strongman-putin-is-no-match-for-corruption.html -

It is a very interesting thread, I read it all. I don't know if memoirs of soviet engineers are available in english but Mishin stated the whole budget of N1 program was 2.5 billion $ by 1970. And the first big financial investment was reveived only in 1964. Current state of Energia: http://i.imgur.com/zE36L71.jpg Current state of Buran: http://i.imgur.com/HzUHzg5.jpg -
Could anyone write community manager's answer about Q&A-phase and fixed bugs, please? I can't understand what he says in the stream.

Some time ago I tried to dock a space shuttle to a station with a docking port that was attached to the cubic strut and got very similar result: my shuttle and station exploded. Once I attached a docking port of the shuttle to the fuel tank, everything went fine

Levelord , http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/43342-How-do-I-get-earlier-version-of-KSP-with-Steam Auto update can also be disabled
-
Don't forget you can always copy KSP folder from Steam directory to any folder on your hard drive and launch KSP from there without Steam running

Make sure MechJeb is installed vertically - I guess That guy who builds stuff wants to say the same thing I installed MechJeb horizontally one time - and it made the rocket fly like the crashed Proton - after I installed Mechjeb vertically the problem disappeared.
-
I think I've almost finalised my 390 tons launcher
-
CoriW , wow, I never thought about it! I build rolling rockets since KSP0.11 or so, I'll follow your advice. Thank you!

Cluster engines more efficient than single Mainsail [proof]

Set throttle to 100%, press space, open the resource tab and take a look at the number in brackets at the right end of the green bar. That's resource consumption per second -
