  1. Have fun getting back up to your old post levels without power-posting. The trick is to make lots of posts that are on-topic and useful.
  2. You'll need to use shift + w and use the non-retractable ladder to make something of a slope up around the edge.
  3. As you can see, I've been here a while. I know almost everything about rockets, and I've decided to build an SSTO that can be reused. This, of course, requires knowledge of spaceplanes. I have built a successful SSTO that has a lot of fuel left after orbital insertion, but I really would like a few tips when designing them (I went through ~20 major variations to find one that worked) Thanks
  4. A poll to see how people get to the KSPSP, KSP wiki, KSPF, etc.
  5. It may yet make it into the game. 2014, perhaps. Squad is hard at work adding resource mining and Career Mode. Put simply, they are adding more fun to the game for when multiplayer is ready. I'm sure it will be here before we're into beta.
  6. Gemini missions had 2 astronauts on board... Mercury missions carried only 1 person. Please fix this.
  7. Regarding the Kerbal in the lower left of the picture... Is her name by chance Chell? I'm guessing this based off of the fact that Her pants are orange and she has a coat thing tied around her waist, as Chell did in Portal.
  8. I know Scott Manley did it once... Can't get you a link though.
  9. If they didn't have such long burn times they'd be overpowered. Besides, they make great landing engines for anything heading towards Gilly.
  10. Nothing, we could build a version of the Matrix, plug ourselves in, and make the laws of physics different so they CAN hover without any reason other than that Gravity doesn't affect them, at least in that realm.
  11. I have a Aptima from the 70's. I have 16 MB of Ram and 2 MB G-RAM on this rig. Only 2 minute boot time.
  12. That engine makes it 3. Trust me, I use Chiron landers all day on my Minmus base.
  13. How about smallest reusable launcher to get a 1 ton satellite to 75x75 LKO? reusable meaning nothing can be dropped from it.
  14. What we all want but won't say we want is multithreading for KSP. Then we can actually build massive bases on other planets without having a Haswell Bridge 6-core i7. (let's face it: As long as KSP is single threaded, Intel is king. After all, the most powerful benchmarked processors are by them)
  15. I would crash it on the Pyramids. That would just make everyone mad. +1 Evil prestige
  16. This thread is dedicated to all of those astronauts that don't get a memorial just for themselves. My 2 favorite astronauts would have to be: Virgil Grissom (The Gemini capsule was nicknamed the Gusmobile due to his large involvement in it's design) Michael Collins (Apollo 11 CSM Pilot)
  17. That actually sounds quite powerful. Shipping costs to Illinois?
  18. WOOOOO! I'll bet it's on one of the devs' hard drives
  19. I'm looking for a really old download of KSP, like one of the very first public releases. I'm sure Squad wouldn't object. I had posted screenshot evidence that I owned KSP back in March, which is now gone... Anyways, I think there really should be a sticky of the old (free) versions of KSP that can be downloaded. If you're reading this and are a dev, I really do want to know: Do you have all the versions of KSP on your Hard Drive?
  20. An addon would be nice... good luck with all the complex FTP access and stuff.
  21. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would honestly not mind too much had the KSPSP been wiped out (well, at least to an early backup) as well. It's really a mess and it is overdue for some time in the orbital drydock.
  22. I really wish we had an update today, especially since there was none this Tuesday due to the server outage... I'm sure he'll make it up to us next week, though!
  23. Rep point backup restoration I hope?
  24. This is technically a bug, but if you hate cheating and ending the mission before an imminent crash, try this cheat/trick: 1. Press R and activate the EVA suit's RCS thrusters. It does not matter how much fuel is in them 2. (this is hard to do) RIGHT before hitting the ground press R and deactivate the suit so that the animation is still playing as he/she hits the ground. They may fly upwards again. repeat as necessary until they are safe. 3. Congratulations! You just exploited a bug (AKA Glitch in the Matrix) in ver. 0.1.7! Keep using it to keep your kerbans safe from what is otherwise an imminent death! Challenge: try this on the Sun (I am horrible at orbital maneuvers and am stuck in a permanent 15 million K orbit around it.
