  1. SSTOs are just amazing, I am planning to tune it so I can launch small satellites from it.
  2. Took me quite a bit to get this set up, but i hate having disposable interplanetary ships, after all that work, it just smashes into Kerbin.
  3. It was surprisingly easy compared to a manned mission, now I know why NASA loves rovers
  4. I remember seeing a thread in the forums with all the really old versions, i don't remember if it was destroyed in the April Wipe. Anybody got some pointers or a link to it?
  5. I have finally sent a robotic mission to land on Laythe. Here are the pics: Takeoff: Leaving Kerbin: Arriving at Laythe: Entry into Laythe: (those little bits are part of the interplanetary transfer stage) Land ho! Heat shield seperation (accidentally left HUD on, using Kerbal Live Feed): Semi-deployed chutes: Full deployment of parachutes: Landing: Jool in the distance: Vall and Tylo together: It is funny how this mission took exactly 365 days to get to Laythe. I over packed with fuel, I only used 1 FLT-800 tank, (not sure if the name is correct, just the double 1.25 m tank) when i had 3. I also used only like 1/5th of the landing fuel on the lander, to slow down for final touchdown, at ~1 m/s This probe is my first to land on one of the Joolian moons. Entering laythe's atmosphere at 8km/s is fun tho.
  6. I have just sent a manned mission to orbit jool and return! Pics: Module Docking: Escaping Kerbin: Got my encounter! Leaving Kerbin: First Jool sighting: Jool aerocapture: Jool Orbit: Burning home: Kerbin again! There goes the module that took us there and back: Reentry! Parachuting down: Mission Portrait: These guys were crammed into a tiny capsule for 2000 days. (good thing i had jeb, he is already insane) I think that they were forgotten. It took me a lot of designing to pull off this mission. The craft, fully fueled weighs about 60 tons. It is assembled from two modules in space, the Propulsion module, makes up the bulk of the weight, and the Command module, where the crew works, lives, and eats. My next mission is to send people to orbit Laythe and return. Then after that........ The mission to end all missions. A landing. On. Laythe. Laythe.
  7. MY first SSTO! Finally, after hours of experimentation, i have a vehicle that can take off, and land without expending anything other than fuel! Pics: In orbit: Reentry: The runway is bit hard to see at night: Final Approach: Phew, glad thats over! My SSTO can get to orbit and return with about 25-50 m/s of delta-V left. I have so far done 5 flights with 2 resulting in orbit and return. (1 landed 20 km from the KSC). I am so proud of this craft, it is called: "Frontier" I feel pro now. (time to add this to my ribbon!)
  8. There is a livestream from Aphspace right now, and we need people to watch the stream, here is the link! http://www.twitch.tv/austin4050 (this is the correct link, he goes by a different name on Twitch) This is on a KerbalLiveFeed server, here is the ip: klf.kerbalsp.com:2075 Credit to KerbalLiveFeed: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24926-0-20-Kerbal-LiveFeed-Passive-Multiplayer-Plugin-Client-Server-v0-6-6?highlight=kerballivefeed
  9. The challenge submission guidelines say, you have to do the challenge for it to not be breaking the rules. So this challenge will be locked by a moderator.
  10. wow all this progress in two years!
  11. Does this mod work with 0.20.1 i really wanna get back into it but, i don't know if it works.
  12. Well Squad, if you have a overdrive for the forum servers, use em..... Duncan of the Yogscast has begun a KSP series. I am just about to watch it so i will post a link. I hope it's a good series, and will help get some sales, and well-needed recognition for KSP!
  13. I have got Kerbal LiveFeed but i can't seem to work it, how do I?
  14. I just slapped on 4 to the sides instead of the bottom and, works like a charm.
  15. What is the Jool aerocapture altitude, excuse me, but i must have forgotten the altitude.
  16. At 50 meters, just using regular rcs mode will not be sufficent, use the translation controls, I, J, K, L. Get lined up and approach the docking port while moving no more than 0.5 m/s. If you can complete docking, you have completed one of the most difficult things in KSP. It took me hours and hours to do my first docking. But the key is, Don't Rush. Good luck!
  17. So how would I go about fixing this so I can get this load into orbit? I have done it before I must have done something wrong this time...
  18. Im planning to have a small probe land with 1 drogue and 2 main chutes. the probe will probably be about 3 tons.
  19. Title says it all, what is the delta-v requirements. (not including de-orbit, got that covered)
  20. where do i get ferram aerospace .19 i have a old version, that i want to mod.
  21. Is there anyway to get a fresh version of KSP 0.19, i want a version that i just play around with mods on. (I have bought KSP)
  22. The nuke engines are not part of the lifter, they are cargo. plus the 3 double tanks in the middle.
