  1. fully deploy the chute? I separated "HS Jettison button in the r-click menu" when partially deployed. and the chute popped off, no "Structural failure between Draco probe core and parachute" it just popped off and floated away.
  2. I just landed a Huygens on Tekto... w/o a chute. After the heatshield jettison took out the chute. Touched down at 18 m/s which is apparently inside the impact tolerance.
  3. yo, the Sarnus S-IVC-25K tank has weird issues. Shows up small in the previews and when you put it on the rocket, but gets very big on the pad so you need to revert it and place it on the node properly.
  4. Those two files worked, now to read back a few pages to figure out how to put the dang thing together. quick Q: is it supposed to have both chutes or one or the other?
  5. found those two files on page 80, trying now after I save my sarnus orbiter from crashing into eeloo.
  6. why? the first install worked fine and I have all but one part.
  7. @akron is the actual Huygens probe not in yet or am I dim? Release notes say's it's in but this is what pops up when I search for "draco" https://imgur.com/a/Hf5Kj Edit: tried out the craft file above, missing the part so i'm not insane. I didn't actually update the dependencies that came with 0.16, lemme try that. edit2: nope, didn't work
  8. 33 years after launch, Sarnus Orbiter 1 arrived safely at Sarnus. Now to reflect on the wisdom of sending a solar powered ion engine probe to saturn... I'm running 2.5x OPM.
  9. 5 ton Pioneer 6 derived Sarnus orbiter finally arriving at Sarnus, 32 years after launch. Titan IVA/Centaur launched it directly to encounter, so I used that to test systems for the sarnus mission, swung back out to solar orbit, did the raising burn to sarnus. Missed the node by two days but got into the SOI somehow. Making a 20 m/s correction burn at apogee, headed to sarnus after one more solar orbit. Periapsis inbetween Slate and Eeloo. Propulsion is Ion engines with a Star 48 to help the insertion burn.
  10. this the thread for this tweet? also: CEO of the most reliable launch provider this century; can't take a screenshot.
  11. somewhere on NSF/reddit. It's because it's block 3 and previously flown. Hispasat 30W will be expended because it's heavy and Govsat-1 because it's block 3 reuse.
  12. Paz on a reflown booster has been known since at least November, and not only is it not RTLS'ing it will be expended.
  13. Does the ariane 5 launch on the wrong azimuth without anyone noticing until after spacecraft sep? Too soon?
  14. Tundra Exploration by Damonov and SpaceX Launch Vehicles by Kartoffelkuchen w/ the SpaceX Launch Towers by sciencepanda.
  15. nope, still scaled off, and the sound is cancer. Plus the plume isn’t real. Performance is perfect though
  16. it's 275 m/s less Dv, but the acceptable TWR might make up the difference. Just downloaded the latest master to see if the scaling issue is fixed.
