[0.22] Extraplanetary Launchpads Legacy Thread
Blaylock1988 replied to skykooler's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Lyinginbedmon, we meet again! I'm Mike Dude from Garry's Mod/facepunch, I made the HK-Drone that all the server owners hate. lol -
Oh I forgot to mention, a couple weeks ago I went and watched the Delta IV Heavy launch in person and took a video of it. We are pretty far away and the video was on a Flip camera so no zoom. I can post that up if you want, and I am trying to get the video my friend took on his DSLR camera too.

I like it! Were you able to solve the sticking landing legs problem? -
This sound is real in person, I have watched an Atlas V launch and a Delta IV Heavy launch in person at Vandenberg AFB, they make the crackle sound, it sounds like the air is being torn apart by the engines.

Kerbin Real-Estate - Procedural Cities
Blaylock1988 replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
This looks promising. It can make a good surrounding filler for the kerbin city too if you can use both mods at the same time. -
This is great! Can you add additional sounds to the rocket liftoff? I'm looking for that 'tearing through the air sound' sound, sort of like a fighter jet but deeper and bigger. I'm talking about that crackling sound like in this video http://youtu.be/OnoNITE-CLc?t=2m That would really add some serious immersion and more realness to the game.

[WIP] Newtonian Orbital Mechanics plugin (maybe?)
Blaylock1988 replied to Mattasmack's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
You might as well include orbital perturbations like the J2, J3 and J4 effects, mainly on kerbin. Station Keeping with a high traffic space around kerbin could become a nightmare with 3rd body effects and J effects without some sort of automated station keeping system. This could become game-breakingly realistic. On the other hand, we could finally get sun-synchronous orbits and Lagrange points! -
Kerbin City Community Project - Phase B - New Islands

OMG Cooley that was so simplistically epic! -
The heat shield looks fantastic, however, i feel it has unnecessarily high detail on the inside with the frame. Since the only time it will be seen is when intalling in the VAB, or for a couple seconds when ejecting, have you thought about reducing the detail on the metal structure to reduce polys? Also, when a decoupler is mounted below the heat shield, does a shroud appear similar to engines or Bobcat's HOME heatshield?

[WIP] Parts from my garden shed - SCANsat Antennae
Blaylock1988 replied to Milkshakefiend's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Yeah most of those are different types of helical UHF L-band antennas. Like high-tech versions of this: Except the BDY of course, thats for looking for nuclear explosions. -
[WIP] Parts from my garden shed - SCANsat Antennae
Blaylock1988 replied to Milkshakefiend's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Nice job, the body looks like an old GPS I Navstar satellite. The sensor suite looks similar to the sensor suite on our GPS IIR-M satellites, but its missing the BDY optical sensor (I buy these for our GPS satellites). Add that if you are looking for more detail and things to add. It is an oval opening with a conical sun shroud, and is black on some satellites. Satellite batteries are actually pretty small, our GPS IIF satellites have 4 of them and they are about the size of a large car battery. -
You are looking at subscriber #34, keep it up!

When there is no crew inside one of the fustek modules, does the IVA still render or is it "turned off" so that it no longer uses computer resources? I noticed having a lot of parts with IVA really slows down the game significantly. I really only need one IVA scene active at any one time. Hopefully this reassignment to the Utilities tab may address this?

[0.21.1] StretchyTanks v0.2.2 (updated 8-26-13)
Blaylock1988 replied to AncientGammoner's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I would like to see a texture that uses the corrugated metal texture, but with a paint scheme similar to the Saturn V rockets, but without text so it scales without any problems -
Still waiting on that 100 engine!
