  1. Year 5, Day 252... I discovered something horrifying today... ...but I promised Vlad I'd forget what I just saw if he put that thing back and never went near it again. On a completely unrelated note, an alarm went off. It took us a while to actually figure out what it was, it was over on a dusty instrument panel covered in cobwebs and Vlad's old toothbrushes. Underneath were warning lights labeled, PAD FIRE, TANK FIRE, NON-SPECIFIC IMPENDING DOOM, and FRANK. That last one was a bit concerning, but we were interested in the one lit up at the moment marked KERBAL RESCUE. Which was strange, since I was pretty sure we were all still on the ground. Yet somehow GENE spit out contracts for not one but two orbital rescues, and, well... You know how I said I'm going to read the contracts better? I really need to start doing that. One of these was for a rescue in an orbit halfway to Iota. We've never been that far, not with a Kerbal. But hey, roots are roots and having a new face for Triti to interrogate get to know might calm her down some. So, off we go! ... well I suppose I did only tell Vlad he couldn't touch that thing...
  2. Good point. It should be a matter of simple construction of known equipment now (rebuilding/building launch facilities).
  3. Just another quick note of thanks for this. Whatever was stopping my game from loading seems to have un-derped itself *knocks furiously on every bit of wood, faux-wood, and particle board in sight*, so tweaking the numbers in the safe file did, actually, work.
  4. @JadeOfMaar because this thread needs more purple.
  5. Apparently the X-37 launch is officially on the calendar for August 15 @ LC-39 according to spaceflightnow.com.
  6. "Hope you enjoy it, Honey, I'll be out here in the doghouse if you need me..."
  7. More or less. Depends on the thread, but as was said, the rep system is a bit too generous now. And I say this as an admitted rep wh-- um, collector. So then all too often I feel guilty if I don't re-rep someone who's repped me, or bothered to reply to me in the first place, or... well, you get the idea. And then there's the SpaceX thread, where every time there's a launch the rep is flying around in great buzzing clouds like wasps at LZ-1.
  8. I seem to have a habit of doing that.
  9. sorry can't resist Nivenean NIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-IIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS Like Nivenean DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYS More often than not, are hotter than hot, in a lot of good waaaaaays!
  10. This is ElonSpeak now, so realistically we're probably looking at 5-6 months... before the heat death of the universe.
  11. KerbalJoinReinforcement is your friend. or at least, it should be...
  12. They're still managing to keep more-or-less to the two-week cadence so far, this last one was the third in a row without hardware delays.
  13. BulgariaSat pushed back to the 17th , probably due to the previous delay. But I think that's a Saturday again.
  14. Give them a couple hour and have them stand in front of a fire, you might be surprised how far they get.
  15. Can we start the hype train for BulgariaSat yet? On the 15th, that is.
  16. Still here... or... am I? Edit: oops, party foul. Um howbout @Sᴄɪɴᴛɪʟʟᴀᴛʀ
  17. ULA must be ready to pop a space gasket about now. Is the X-37 still in F9πr^2 territory, or will it need a FH?
  18. Ninja'd. While I was yet typing! Um... @Triop
  19. This. In fact, if this were the movie it's increasingly sounding like, this would be the pivotal drama scene with lots of close ups of strained, sweaty faces, orders given and refused, and then the switcheroo right at the end with some emotional pounding on the window and two hands separated by a single pane of glass and a poignant one-liner, perhaps followed by a big "NOOOOO!"
  20. This. We know the Dragon can safely return 20 mice, and loft 40 (that's on the current cargo), so what's the limit? One human? A miniature horse? An unusually large lizard? A safari of pygmies from the African interior? I don't think the hatch can be opened from the inside at all, especially when pressurized. Think Apollo 1.
