That guy who does FlybyFinder seriously needs to do versions for upscale GPP systems. Oy. There's got to be an easier way of getting to the self-cooking worlds.

You get all my likes for today. but since I can't actually do that, guess I'll have to spread 'em around.

. . . and people wonder where we, as a civilization, are going and why we're in this handbasket...

These are the times that demand the most caution. Murphy demands it.

You have backup saves... probably. Go to the savegame folder and check the list of .sfs files under your own save name. Should be a fairly current one. Just use the "load game" option from the escape menu in the KSP scene.

I meant the plane part.

Revel's got nothing on this guy. So I issue a challenge! They don't mess with the aerodynamics at all?

Hah hah, just you wait. note to self: ditch the pale, lanky hobo Words are once again flowing to (digital) paper, in the right order, even. Hopefully I'll have something a bit more interesting soon™.

IIRC, payloads are fueled before integration. The AMOS satellite that went poof was fully fueled, hence the bigger poof when it hit the ground. Well, poop. Any word as to why? -
Dat F-16ish doe! Dat fuel drogue! Doze gauges! Mods? Moar?

The payload fairing flares out at the base. There's your room for the heatshield's "shadow:" make it slightly wider so it fits the cross section of the fairing, or nearly enough. Again, would still easily fit inside and remain modular using the existing fairings. With most of the fuel gone and just the very light MVac engine out back, the recovery module alone (and that heat shield) should move the COM far enough forward to make it stable with simple re-use of existing F9 grid fins out back. -

IIRC plans for the D2 have very short legs that just kinda pop out of the heatshield. Could be a test of that mechanism, too. -

My money remains on them re-using a Dragon propulsion system/subframe with heat shield, maybe upgraded with SuperDracos, mounted upside-down on the inaugural FH upper stage. Simple, modular, an expansion of existing components and a testbed for D2 landing procedures as well. On another note, BulgariaSat is still on tap for the 17th, but no word on a static fire. Um... should we be getting nervous? -
Thriceith. um... what are we three-ing, again? Wow... guess those Imperial budget cuts didn't even spare poor Vader, there.

Would the SSTU support patch still work with the older (1.2.2) version of Kerbalism?

WENDY I CAN FLY sort of !

It's in the dark blue. The time frame is less than ideal, but 7+ km/s seems a bit excessive. I could have sworn I mocked it up before and it came out around 3.5km/s on both ends.

Quick question: I've started playing around with some Thalia transfers using MechJeb's porkchop plotter (6.4x). I'm getting single-burn from LGO values around 4100m/s, which seems right, but playing with a node at the (projected) encounter, I'm getting like 7km/s plus just to capture. Whaaaaaat?? Is that right for this scale? The transfer orbit does look a little less than ideal...

IIRC, these are exactly the upgrades planned for LC-39, but they can't work on any of them till LC-40 is back up. Modifying 39 for FH will be the first priority, about 60 days to do, upgrades for manned flights will follow once the bulk of flights are running out of 40 again -

FWIW, a grainy photo taken last month of LC-40 last month by the Deimos satellite: via Spaceflightnow.com. Eeeeeehhhh... I'm no construction engineer and this was obviously taken with a high-resolution potato, but looks like a long way to go yet... -
