i am attemptung this challenge and i am 3/4 away from finishing it. It is a real challenge to make a rocket with 18t/30 parts but it's a lot of fun. A question though in order to get to Minmus form Kerbin at which point do i need to burn, when i see it rising form the horizon?

Thanx for the compliments guys, and no i don't use the Hubble Sapce Telescope for my photos it is the result of experience, relative dark skies along with a good photographic setup and lots of exposure times. A new photo i took the past days. M20 the Trifid Nebula

pfft 2.3R you suck that's nothing to what i have where i live, a 3R is the standard every couple of weeks. Last year a 5.8R earthquake hit with the epicenter a few km from where i live and its acceleration was equal to 7R earthquake (from what various scientists told at the media) a week later a second 5.6 earthquake hit at 5:00 in the morning. Many buildings were damaged but no casualties.

Where i live this summer so far it's been colder and wetter than usual, we had a downpour last Monday and heat started to be above 30C since Saturday

Jokes aside can you provide a link with the full resolution of the image? Is it yours? Since i am an astrophotographer and have many hours of astrophotography under my belt with various problems and challenges that an astrophotography has i can give you a few suggestions. 1) bad calibration of the image, not likely since the picture would have many errors not one. 2) bad preorcessing of the image (stacking of images and noise removal algorithms) 3) something bad happened during the proccesing of the image 4) The most likely scenario is that it is a geostationary sattelite track that did not go away during preprosseing/processing of the image. The area of orion's belt has many geostationary satellites and i have captured myself some in my early days of astrophotography at M42 and at the horsehead nembula (actually at the horsehead nebula there is a satelite that passes at the same time, good thing that i can get rid off it at preproccesing) 5) if it is not yours someone may have painted a line at the image which is also very likely since the image is of high quality capture and proccesing and would not justify that error said image with satelite track at the right

make sure to store the photos at loseless format eg. tiff, bmp or even raw... if your camera can store the photo at both formats (tiff and raw) even better, later at processing you can have a wider range to process.

I will have to agree with xacktar. There is more to life than computer games and KSP. Devote extra time to your spouse do things together and don't let those pesky immigration people get to you, the final victory over them will be more satisfying. I am also taking a long break from computer games (have not played KSP since it hit 0.90) and concentrate on other real life things, for me the most important thing the last 2 months is my final preparation for a mountain marathon at the end of July, fun fact physical activity and especially running can lower depression levels, as mentioned go for a walk at a park and if possible a daily excursion at nature will boost your morale and your mood. You can also read a book, it will take your mind of from things for while. The most important thing right now is not to let depression get any worse, close any TV you have and don't listen to any news, they can hit you real bad, an alternative is to start a garden (even better if it is a vegetable garden the feeling of satisfaction will take away the depression). Take your time until you mentally feel much better and then start playing games/KSP they are not going anywhere they are meant to be fun and not stressful and you you will have the challenge of getting to remember of how you did things the last time you played those games

I use an RC8'' on an HEQ5 Pro mount or a skywatcher ED 80 for deep sky imaging along with a cooled CCD camera, for planetary imaging or obsering i use a skywatcher dob 8". I live at a a Rural/suburban transition area so i can easily photograpnh many DSO's once the wheather allows it. Here are some photos i have taken over the years M42 The Horsehead Nebula Veil nebula Saturn Mars Jupiter M106 Milky Way Panorama NGC7635 The Bubble Nebula M16 The Eagle Nebula M13 Venus Jupiter Animation Jupiter Animation and here are more pictures i have taken http://www.astrobin.com/users/kookoo_gr/ - - - Updated - - - For those that want to start observing the night sky with their eyes or any other optic device a good program to use is Stellarium. It's a free planetarium program and once you enter the coordinates of the observing site you can have an idea of what to expect to see at various hours of the night.

Any landing you can walk away is a good landing Gilly is space potato (someone's sig) I made it back from Tylo. Also the badges form the jool-5 and the eve rocks challenge would be nice for bumper stickers/t-shirts
-
i beleive there is a mod that allows the control of multiple ships or kerbals at the same time, can't remember the name though.

great video. now do the second trailer of the movie

The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge - 1.0 to 1.3
kookoo_gr replied to sdj64's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
as for hyperedit of course it should be banned while on the challenge but for the build phase i would suggest its use in order to test landers. -

The Ultimate Jool 5 Challenge - 1.0 to 1.3
kookoo_gr replied to sdj64's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
i might give it a go once i have the time. You should include a grand tour level just like the original challenge. what is the Gatecrashers level? -
Before i got hooked to KSP i was playing simcity 4. At some point i got hooked at watching SC4 youtube videos from Hypnotoad. By browsing his other videos i came upon a video Kerbal Space Program, needless to say after 5 mins in the video i bought the game. it was back at 0.18 and after many crashes in the game's first hour Scott Manley taught me how to fly while Kurtjmac made laugh.

Drunken pilot challenge
kookoo_gr replied to BoobyTrapGaming's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Very fun challenge, the plane is tricky to lift off and land but once you manage the speed then it flies straight. -
The Great Kerbal Space Race

Landed on the Mun at 7 days 3h29m32sec, back to Kerbin at day 8 3h17m47 -
i would like to make a suggestion for this mod. It would be nice to be able to also move, enlarge the GUI at the top of the screen, the GUI that shows Height and vertical speed

1.0 MAJOR bug with nuclear engines
kookoo_gr replied to kookoo_gr's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Sorry for the bad report and the bad title. I reproduced the bug and here are the steps i took to reproduce it. Before i did this procedure i had a sandox game created. 1. Start the ARM training mission 1 2. Follow the directions of Gene Kerman up to the point where you adjust the node and stat the burn (Gene's Next button is grayed out until the ship has a close encounter with the asteroid) 3. Start the burn at full throttle, optionally turn psychics warp to any speed you want, i went for 4x and wait until the nuclear engines start to overheat. 4. Wait until the small tanks that the nuclear engines are placed explode (i should have read the changelog better that heat is propagated) 5. Once the tanks explode, end scenario. 6. Go to the sandbox save 7. At this point the only building you can access is the astronaut complex via double clicking, all the other buildings are not accessible, also the exit to main menu button at bottom right works fine at this stage (if you don't click at the astronaut complex) 8. After you access the astronaut complex and exit, the exit button to main menu is disabled and you can exit the game via Alt+F4 output log file before i Alt+F4 http://www./view/d356dei3t0c6c2b/output_log.txt I run the game at Win 7 64bit
