  5. Well, there are some parts here and there, 10 or 20 but not more. However I have a tonne of engines I can't scrap them - NO! NEED MOAR BOOSTAS BTW, asmi, that RD-0120 is SO AMAZING. I don't get it how this is not being used at the moment.

  7. I'm sure it can be done with no problems on stock KSP. However, the real scales mod goes with a tonne of other stuffs, parts, plug-ins, etc. At the moment I'm up to 3.5 GB RAM as soon as KSP loads. It crashes at least once per day too... So, we've got some constraints there.

  9. Some compression, we don't really need THAT detailed map of Mars. Everything would get blurry once you get to the surface anyway.

  13. Well, NASA have real pictures of most planets. Would be SO cool to have the real textures derived from the real planets.

  15. I think I found something odd with the stretchy SRB last night. Was trying to make a replica of Vega rocket, SRBs stacked on top of each other. First stage was OK but as soon as I fired the second, the thrust was not what was set but exactly the same a the first stage. Tried this at least 10 times with the same result. Just managed to fix it (dont know how) and same thing happened with 3rd stage (got the thrust of the second stage). Can you take a look at that? Could be something with the modular fuels as I set the SRBs to level 7 and then tampered with the burn times.
  16. Use the failed dockin ports. The ones in the structural tab that can be surface attached. Struts engines to the tank.

  18. Actually you don't need to calculate the size of the tank. All you need to know is how much delta V you want from the stage and then shape the fuel tank to your liking. For example, you have a payload + upper stage (and engine of course). Stick a mechjeb on, it will show you the masses, TWR and Delta-V. If you need more delta V, just drag the tank to make it a little bigger. If you drop below the needed TWR, then you need a stronger engine or a third stage. If you need better efficiency, try something with better Isp... Does this answer your question or I've misunderstood.
  19. Miller, make sure you have RealMasses set to TRUE in the ruelfuel folder, .cfg file. For example, with this enabled, the Mainsail weights around 1.8 tonnes.
  20. I think stretchy tanks save a LOT of part count. Never had any issues with fps either, even with my low end Pentium G 2120.
