It's a really good thing that India has a space program. It'll bring long-term benefits to the country for sure. If we really need to complain about the expenses of something, it shouldn't be the space program, which by the way has so tiny budget it wouldn't make a difference anyways.

I don't think bringing extra 1.5 kg can be much of an issue. It's basically as if one of the astronauts happened to weigh a tiny bit more.
-
Soyuz rendezvouses with ISS in 6 hours instead of two days. They've been doing that for the last few missions.

I played KSP every day for a few months after buying it (when it was released in Steam after 0.19 came out). I also played quite a bit of 0.20 and 0.21, but then I took a pause for a couple of months. Now with 0.22 I kind of feel that it takes more features to get me completely obsessed about the game again. A few more planets, resources and full career mode might do that, but until then I'll keep playing every now then, but not daily. Maybe this also has something to do with the fact that I had absolutely nothing else to do between March and August, but now I'm very busy with school.

Why are so many people opposed to nuclear energy?
Karriz replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Nuclear discussion is always about risks vs benefits. We know that both exist, but it's impossible to "measure" two different things and determine which one weighs more. You could play it safe, or you could just go for it because it's unlikely that things would go terribly wrong. Imo, it's important that everyone sees both sides of the argument, and don't just promote their own "ideology" and think that the opposing opinion is absolutely wrong. That's exactly like all the political and religious discussions everywhere in the internet. I just say that "I don't know". We already have nuclear plants so we might as well keep using them until something better comes up, but we shouldn't keep building them all over the place. Compromises are cool, right? -
Really cool video. It's also on official ESA Youtube channel:

Why are so many people opposed to nuclear energy?
Karriz replied to Skyler4856's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'm not opposed to nuclear power as a temporary solution, but I definitely do understand people who oppose it. Burying the nuclear waste underground simply isn't going to work long-term. Hopefully cold fusion gets invented soon, but until then we should go with wind and solar power as much as possible. -
In my opinion, unlocking the tech tree shouldn't take long as it's just supposed to introduce player to the parts gradually, so I suppose the difficulty level is fine as it is. In the future we'll get money, missions and resources which will bring much more stuff to do, and the science stuff will probably be expanded too.

Suggestion on Career money/economy
Karriz replied to lazarus1024's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I don't really understand why such a limitation would be needed. Players should be free to build massive space stations and bases even in career mode. -
The greatest (engineering) achievement of mankind
Karriz replied to Camacha's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'll go with Apollo program although I'm not an American. Of course, there are also plenty of cool things we've done on the surface of the Earth. But actually landing humans on the surface of another celestial body, that's just... out of this world. -
I think those are from the Chatterer mod. They're NASA transmissions, but reversed, and with a higher pitch.

How do play this game without Engineer Redux?
Karriz replied to Gus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I don't think Engineer redux (or Mechjeb windows) is a cheat by any means - you could calculate delta-V and TWR it by yourself, but Engineer redux just conveniently gives the numbers to you, which makes sense from gameplay perspective. I also have a similar kind of a habit. I want to know if my rocket has enough delta-V to reach it's destination. I also like to use protractor to get the most fuel efficient launch windows. I just want the numbers, no autopilot. I think these will be implemented to the game eventually in one way or another. -
I am disappointed that there is no science in Sandbox mode
Karriz replied to johnnyhandsome's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Science does not become pointless even if you have all the parts unlocked in sandbox. It would still be cool to do the experiments and get results. It's sort of a roleplaying thing, and I don't understand why anyone would be against that. -
"There is no science to be done in sandbox mode"
Karriz replied to PwnedDuck's topic in KSP1 Discussion
But the question is, why shouldn't there be science messages in sandbox? Is there any reason for such a seemingly artificial limitation? Many people like to use sandbox mode for roleplaying purposes, and having those little messages would certainly be neat, and wouldn't hurt anyone. -
"There is no science to be done in sandbox mode"
Karriz replied to PwnedDuck's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Of course I don't know how the game is coded, but since the science reports wouldn't overlap with any of the existing features, I don't see why it would cause problems. You add the science part to the craft, and when you do an experiment, the game randomly chooses a result text based on your current location. The results wouldn't even have to be saved in sandbox mode, and the science points could be blanked. -
i5 3337U, 4GB RAM and Nvidia 740M here (a laptop). The game runs playable on highest settings, although I haven't tried building anything massive, and I try not to use too many mods which could lower the performance.

"There is no science to be done in sandbox mode"
Karriz replied to PwnedDuck's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is still about the science text, not the tech tree. We just want to see the experiment result, not science points or tech tree, in the sandbox mode. It's about immersion as someone said. -
"There is no science to be done in sandbox mode"
Karriz replied to PwnedDuck's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah, at least seeing the experiment result would be cool, even if science points are useless in sandbox. -
Science and career mode, definitely. They'll bring entirely new kind of gameplay. Can't wait to go collecting some Mun samples.

Anyone else listen to Gravity soundtrack while re-entering Kerbin?
Karriz replied to syfyguy64's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You probably shouldn't tell what happens in the movie, that is very much a spoiler. -
What would happen to this community if pewdiepie played KSP?
Karriz replied to notfruit's topic in The Lounge
Honestly, I don't understand all the hate on PewDiePie. I used to watch his videos last year, but then it got kind of repetitive and boring so I unsubscribed. Still, I don't see how him playing KSP would "ruin" the game in any way. -
Kosmos has some huge panels: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/kosmos-tks-spacecraft/ I believe this one has different sizes, too: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/0-18-ion-engine-pack/

Maybe we'll have stock mapping soon ... (pure speculation)
Karriz replied to fishlips13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That would be a solution, or perhaps allowing the mapping to run while flying another mission. After all it shouldn't involve any physics engine calculations.
