What kind of creature are kerbals?
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to rewdew2's topic in KSP Fan Works
My theory is that in the Kerbal universe a grand creator picked his nose while he was working and absent-mindedly flicked a great big green bogey into space, it travelled past Kerbin spewing forth Godly bacteria which landed in Kerbin's seas, millions of years later Kerbals appeared! They think they came from cactus' but the reality is far greener. -

I think the music so far is excellent, personally i don't want it changed i'd just like more tracks added to it. -
I've landed on the Mun and returned to Kerbin twice, i have landed on the Mun and not been able to return...thrice! But i have NEVER done a single Mun landing including a return to Kerbin that didn't involve me pressing F5 before attempting to land, it's always taken two or more attempts as i invariably end up with my rocket on it's side. I did indeed land perfectly once but it was on an occasion where i didn't have enough fuel to return, so it doesn't count as a success. Long story short, i've never truly and legitimately landed on the Mun and returned home in one single go.

I think KSP could be the next minecraft
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to Cooly568's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm hoping KSP will get huge, but i don't think it will get as big as Minecraft for a couple of reasons, firstly the subject matter, as wonderful as space is to us there are some people who don't have the patience for it, secondly although fairly easy once understood it is a game that demands the player to invest time learning, and that is an old-school concept that doesn't fly well with many people. -
Ah i understand, thank you for the answer.

May i ask what Damion does in the team please? programming? I'm very new to Kerbal.
-
I'm worried about anything that may adversely affect this game, i'm a new player but i haven't played anything like Kerbal in many years, i didn't even know they regularly spoke to and did streams for the community, that's pretty rare for game developers, if they have stopped it's just my luck, i'm always late for everything good.

What would you like to see on kerbin?
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to tom1499's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I think my biggest Kerbal wish will be granted when i orbit Kerbin and i see city lights twinkling below, i'd love to be able to fly over those cities and even walk around in them, Kerbals could be pottering around much as they do at the space center, blimps could hang up in the air. I'd like to see clouds and rain, possibly even storms on Kerbin, i'd also like to see small village and farming communities away from the big cities, with fields of corn etc. -

I have a budgie who does this, he holds on to the bar with his beak and kicks his cage door with both feet to get out, it's a trick he learned from me being lazy and not waking up in time, if it past 8 AM and his shouting not wake me up he lets himself out -
I thought the DLC incident was harsh on Squad and may have cost them future earnings and us future expansions, because frankly who works for free? I bought Kerbal on Steam a few weeks ago, i expected the game to be finished with new planets and features like career mode etc, up to the point where it could be called a solid, optimised and complete game but i never expected future DLC to be free, in fact i was excited about the thought of expansions despite not having much money to spend on games in general. I don't know their reason for being quiet, but if they feel hurt and or surprised by how their community has treated them i would not be surprised in the slightest, neither could i blame them.

Someone suggest me an audiobook for KSP.

What do people think of google glass?
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to llamatoes's topic in The Lounge
There is another visual impairment known as astigmatism which causes straight lines to appear curved and blurriness in strong cases, i have high astigmatism and although in my case it is probably congenital it can have various causes and gets worse with age for just about everyone. Most people have a tiny amount and the causes of it are still disputed, there appears to be little to no consensus, but one popular opinion for some cases of astigmatism is damage to the surrounding eye muscles from abnormal focusing (reading, computer work etc,) even prolonged, incorrect posture of the neck and head have been blamed. This is why i am concerned about any gadget that causes the eye to work in a different manner than it is usually supposed to. Having said all that perhaps i am being overly cautious, and perhaps the benefits will turn out to out-weigh any negatives, eggs must be broken to make omelettes as they say, but i'm not going to volunteer myself as one of the guinea-pigs! -
What do people think of google glass?
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to llamatoes's topic in The Lounge
I have a host of visual impairments so i know a little about how eyes work, and have come to respect their complexity. This is just a personal opinion, so please don't assume i am right in what i am saying, but i personally wouldn't touch these things with a barge-pole even if my eyes were perfect, vision is incredibly complex and is dependent on more than just the eye itself, the muscles around the eye are just as important, as is the way the brain processes information from the eye, and if any of these functions are adversely affected you can get serious problems. If i may talk of just one aspect, something called "ocular dominance," basically most people favour one eye over the other even if they have good sight in both eyes, and that dominance can be changed, sometimes for the worse because if you have one eye worse than the other and it becomes dominant you won't see as well, people who are familiar with firearms are usually aware of this more than most because their aiming can be affected by it. One way ocular dominance could change accidently is a hairstyle that covers one of your eyes, deny one of your eyes good vision for a little while and your brain will switch dominance to whatever eye sees best, you can see how this would be no good if you have covered your better eye, google glasses may not impair vision but they may get the eye working in unatural ways, they might tire and damage the muscles around the eye through abnormal focusing, long story short, i wouldn't use them, that's my opinion at least. -
Bare chested and ready to wrestle with the local aliens just like Captain Kirk Good stuff, even the horizon although simple does a nice job of implying depth.
-
Nice work, i don't think you need to worry about blobby continents, it gives the picture a touch of impressionism. The glare maybe tone down a little bit.

Nice one, congratulations
