Hey there! Welcome to the forum

I think the best way is to make yourself a space-station with a big orange fuel tank, that way you can send a few misisons up, dock with it, refill it, and then when you are going somewhere far away you can take fuel from it too for your journey, welcome to the forum

Very nice indeed

I think if aliens did exist and found our planet we may be highly valuable from a historical point of view, if they are a very old civilization they may have the problem of not knowing much about themselves before a certain point in time, as they too must have been primitive at some point, by observing us many gaps in their own history might be revealed to them, apart from it being darned fascinating to watch a completely separate people evolving. Some people say if aliens were around they would have revealed themselves, but if they are watching us and taking notes then revealing themselves would screw up that experiment completely.

Excellent version! -
I don't know about the Minecraft community, although i play the game i never got involved community-wise, but i can say the KSP community is one of the very best, and i have had happy luck because most game communities i have been a part of were a pleasure, even World of Warcraft that gets a bad press i met many good and friendly people.

How does this plant do this?
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to Custard Donut (In Space)'s topic in Science & Spaceflight
I think what i want to convey the most is that i am grateful to you Monkeh and to the people on this thread who have helped me and had patience with me, of that i can be sure of. -

Phillip K Dick wrote a really interesting short story called the Golden man, now i think about it, any of you remember that one? he had evolved an ability to see a few seconds into the future but had no higher thought processes, everything he did was on instinct and apparently, he was the future of mankind. -

I feel bad disappointing someone who has helped me understand but i'm afraid i don't feel that way Monkeh, i don't feel happy about it neither do i feel wonder, i accept it because i understand it (finally!) and it makes sense to me, the unbelievable cruelty meted out to trillions of biological "failures" by a blind machine in search of survivability horrifies me, i feel only a sense of great loss and sadness because the last few hopes i had of ever seeing my lost loved ones again are gone, and gaining the truth has not been a worthwhile trade-off for the hope i have lost, it has been i feel an inevitable journey for me, i followed my curiousity and up to this point had failed, but it just so happens the people on this forum are excellent teachers, and i could only see the truth in front of me. -

Well on re-reading i guess you're right i was, but in my defence physical characteristics did not cross my mind, i was thinking of things like empathy without which i feel we would be much lessened but i understand what you mean, if someone was making decisions they might be making choices for the wrong reasons and that as you say could be very dangerous, i didn't mean to offend and i apologise to you if i did cause offence. I would however still be in favour of a group of scientists alerting the general populace if positive aspects of ourselves that we all share like empathy or the ability to appreciate music, or create art were on their way out and might possibly become lost to us, either through the blind mechanism that nature seems to be or through the effects of the prolonged use of our own technologies. Personally i would not want to live in a world without empathy and that is why i fear it's loss, and from what i can see of nature it is entirely without pity, it gave us the ability to identify with and feel another person's suffering because it was a good group survival mechanism, not because nature cared about us, it is a happy, accidental gift that we might lose, i value empathy more than any other human virtue because without it all other of our great virtues become worthless, strength without pity, intelligence without pity, what are they worth? Nothing in my opinion. -
How can i make kermans happy in my ISS?

I had the same problem, even though my space-station was safely and calmly in orbit they still looked scared hehe. -
What is in the NOT FOOD bin
Custard Donut (In Space) replied to Spaceisbeautifulul's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'd say spare rocket fuel, with Kerbals identifying so strongly with their rockets "NOT FOOD" might be Kerbal slang for the type of "food" that rockets eat. -

Custard Donut (In Space) replied to Custard Donut (In Space)'s topic in Science & Spaceflight
Well that's not what i had in mind, i was thinking along the lines of human alarm bells, someone letting the world know if we are slowly losing good parts of ourselves we might want to keep like kindness and empathy, but as someone up above pointed out, empathy is a very succesful thing so hopefully it's not going anywhere. I would like to thank the people that posted in this thread because it's the first time i have come close to understanding selection and evolution, i've tried before and failed but this time it clicked, you guys are good teachers. -
The Fate of Jebediah Kerman (a tragedy)

Good but sad story, space flight is a dangerous business. -
Hey guys, I just wanted to ask what the official word on the new SAS might be regarding any possibility of the old SAS becoming a choosable option at some point, i have a good friend who sadly can no longer play KSP because he only has the use of one hand, he's a real engineer designing all sorts of crazy contraptions, put hundreds of hours into the game but unfortunately the new SAS is causing him great problems in the controlling of the rockets and he's had to give up, so i have two questions if i may ask, the first one is will the old SAS ever become an option at some point, and the second is if not, what do you guys think the chances are of a mod coming out that could do it instead? Thank you for any answers received.

I call them the Skyrim mountains, they remind me a little of that game as it's the first time i have seen steep mountains in KSP. I would also imagine there are rocket-powered, flame-breathing robot dragons somewhere around there that attack passing ships and eat them so they can refuel. Kerb-roh-da!
