KSP2 Release Notes

KSP on console is pretty bad. The game is the same as on PC but the port has been a mess. Don't get too frustrated when your game crashes or saves get corrupted. Those are all known issues and Squad is working on a new port. But nobody knows when it will be released.
-
Absolutely. If there is one guaranteed it is that sooner or later you WILL make a mess. I've been playing KSP religiously for over 4 years now and I still cock-up from time to time. "Failure is not an option. It is part of the process."

Additional for future features

Predictable failures? As long as they are optional I'd say why not. But random, unpredictable failures? Hell no! Predictable failures through wear and tear or accidental damage are just like we already have to some extent; heat explosions, damaged wheels, broken solar panels, over stress, over pressure, GLOC. I can think of a few more like that that could be added. But random failures without any kind of predictability will do a lot more harm than good. It will result in A LOT of rage quits. Think of it; you've spend days, weeks maybe preparing your grand Jool V mission only to plough into one of Jools moons because your darned engine won't light for no apparent reason. If random failures are ever added they MUST be optional! -
Why not have MechJeb fly the launch and rendezvous before autodocking? That way it's a little less 'cheap' However you must keep in mind MechJeb can't do magic. It can not do what you can't do manually. But of course the best way is to use MechJeb as a teacher. Look what and how it is doing and learn from it. Then try to do it yourself.

Is it anything like this? If yes the answer is in there as well: Do NOT [Alt] + [Tab] while the game is loading.
-
Who needs a battery when you have, well, a battery?
-
Well. It is the dumbest thing on the web after all.
-
Technically it is 100% true. If you would remove all the DHMO it would no longer be a river.
-
What's wrong with the current people working on/with IR? Browsing through the IR thread it seems to work just fine in 1.2.2 for a lot of people.

There is absolutely no need to pack several mods together. All a 'modpacker' would have to do to achieve the exact same goal is offer a list of link, (detailed) instructions on how to install and perhaps one or two customized config files. For the user this would indeed mean he/she would need to download several smaller files instead of one huge file but in return it will ensure that only the latest versions are used. And at the same time it would not violate any redistribution restrictions. There is nothing 'illegal' about someone saying 'this, this and that work good together if you install it in such a way.'

I Need 2 Installs of KSP
Tex_NL replied to Coolinee Kerman's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Doesn't matter. Search your drive for the KSP folder and copy it. You do not need to start KSP from Steam. You can start the game directly from the executable. -

You know how to install it once, right? Do it again in a different folder. -

There is nothing keeping you from simply making a second install. Like they say in the Nike commercials: Just do it! -
Well at least nowadays there is a line mentioning a thread is 'rather old'. Obviously this is still not enough. Instead it should be A BIG BOLD OBNOXIOUS POP-UP slamming you in the face. Unfortunately this still won't stop the second person from replying. Since the thread is 'alive' again he won't get the reminder. Another possible option would be to auto-report a necro thread as soon as it gets revived so it will alert a moderator to take action if required.

@Biggen If you look at what is ticked off when you'll notice that as soon as you move again the 'maintain 10 seconds' tick is removed. Every time you stop 'moving' (changing orientation, changing speed, etc.) the timer restarts. It does EXACTLY what it's supposed to do. If it would be ticked off and not re-checked it would for example be possible to simply burn prograde and raise your AP straight past the required altitude and still being rewarded reaching the desired orbit. The way it is now you must raise your AP, stop and hold position. Only then will the contract complete. But I do wonder why we're even discussing the 'maintain 10 seconds' part. This was ticked off in the OP's contract exactly as it should. That part was NOT to blame for the contract not completing.

More stock structural parts
Tex_NL replied to ReconXPanzer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
-
Sure. But it still happens.
-
Should you ban them? Yes since they do more harm than good. Can you ban them? I highly doubt it. You can't stop people from pirating software either.
-
Relay antennae work just as well as any other antenna to complete this part of the contract. Any antenna, except the internal one, will suffice. If a part of the contract is checked off, it is checked off. As bugged as the contract system is it will NOT check off something if it is not completed. However the opposite DOES happen. If you are sure you do have completed all the requirements of a contract and it still won't complete make a quicksave [F5] for safety and exit the game. Restart the game and go back to the offending craft. Pretty much guaranteed the contract will now complete as it should without any difficulty.

From the 'non conventional' designs (from some distance circuitry, dark matter, bone, etc. at least look like conventional designs) the Fibonacci Sequence is indeed among the best.
-
A few of them look acceptable. Others are just hideous, the rocket dress ranking among the worst. Most are only suitable for a Halloween party

Found it. StarTrek Enterprise. Season 1 episode 22 "Vox Sola"
-
As far as I know you can ONLY download the game at the source you bought it from. But you can always buy it again if you really wanted to.
-
Great example of what I am NOT talking about. Yes, those models look pretty neat. But that is yet another mod to install only to ADD extra models. And I already have KPBS for that. It does not update the hopelessly outdated EPL models to the current standard.

I dunno, does it have a Ressikan flute stowed somewhere aboard? Yeah that has to be it, a pretty obscure reference, how the heck did you remember that? A cookie for the both of you. It's the Kataan probe from StarTrek TNG (The Inner Light, S5E25) It is indeed the one that gave Picard the Ressikan memories and the flute. Some time ago I randomly ran into an image of it and instantly knew it would not be hard to recreate it.
