Moving this to Gameplay Questions The important things to pay attention to (after available delta-v, of course) are launch windows and phase angles. As a general rule of thumb, for the most efficient transfers, you want to plot the burn so that your outgoing flight's path is roughly parallel or tangential to Kerbin's own orbit. While this tutorial is a bit older, the basics should still be perfectly valid for the current version of the game as well.

can't enter/leave buildings anymore
Specialist290 replied to Mundiver's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Sounds like it's similar to an issue we have a fix for here. Do you remember if any of your kerbonauts died on the mission immediately preceding the incident, or if you fired one while you were in the Astronaut Complex? -
Since you're being so nosy, maybe we can volunteer you to give an answer (I kid, I kid... though, seriously, if you know how to help, feel free to contribute.) @Mundiver: Welcome to the forums! Hope you get your issues sorted out, and that you'll continue enjoying the game.

Looks like this is an add-on request, so I'll drop it in the appropriate subforum and see if it gets any interest

Moving this over to the Kerbal Network subforum

Impressive work. Looks like this one might make a handy addition to the Drawing Board (Also, moving this to the Tutorials subforum. Carry on.)

Moar contracts
Specialist290 replied to Amahula's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Just dropping a note in here to let y'all know we've moved this into Suggestions and Development Discussion, since it looks like OP is making a suggestion to alter an existing mechanic. Carry on -
Welcome to the forums! I hear you as far as mods are concerned. Back before I finally settled on a few favorites, I was constantly ditching saves or missions because I found a nifty new mod I wanted to try out that would change too many of the basic rules to make continuing with the current save really viable. Sometimes it's like eating popcorn; it's hard to stop at just one I think Pecan has pretty well answered your original question. Rival space agencies are an oft-requested feature, but as of yet, it's just you, plus a few corporations you can take contracts from. There's no rivals to compete against; the only limiting factors are tech, funds, and your own self-imposed mission goals. If you have any further questions about the game, feel free to ask; we won't bite, and quite a few of our users are more than happy to help out new players. You may also want to take a look at some of the tutorials that I've listed in the Drawing Board, which is conveniently available through the link in my signature. Hope this helps, and happy launching!

CFG to other formats?
Specialist290 replied to Turtle the Sea Kraken's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Dropping this in Add-On Affairs, since it relates to manipulating game code and / or files. Carry on -
Very impressive work! A have a slight weakness for craft replicas, especially when people manage to make them work well under the constraints of stock parts.

Update 0.91 - Update 0.100.0
Specialist290 replied to Rdivine's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Indeed, IIRC asteroid sizes top out somewhere around 30 meters in diameter. That's only slightly larger than the Chelyabinsk fireball, so there probably wouldn't be any serious long-term effects. -
Sounds like Abyssal Lurker's channel might be right up your alley.

Moving this to Gameplay Questions and Tutorials, though it looks like it's already been answered pretty thoroughly -
Dropping this in the Kerbal Network Unfortunately I don't believe such a system exists. Your best bet is probably to subscribe to any threads that you frequently visit and participate in.
