  1. Sounds like you might be interested in reading keptin's Basic Airplane Design guide
  2. Once again, nicely done! I'm always impressed by the way you can manipulate part placements and procedural fairings to get rocket designs that are quite functional but still nice-looking.
  3. This strikes me as the sort of thing you might want to ask the plugin developer about directly. You can find the Mission Controller release and discussion thread here.
  4. Welcome to the forums! I don't think those ideas are likely to become part of the game, since they go against the developers' intent. Weaponry and aliens are both items on the What Not To Suggest list, as both have been extensively discussed in the past, and the developers have stated that they do not plan to include them in the final game. In addition to that thread, I'd highly recommend that you read the Forum Rules and the Good Conduct Guide, so you have an idea of what is and is not considered appropriate for discussions. Aside from that, however, feel free to ask any questions you may have about playing the game, or sharing stories of your experiences, or even just posting screenshots of your favorite designs -- all in the appropriate places, of course Hope this helps!
  5. Personally, I wouldn't mind a steady amount of science-per-time in Career Mode on the condition that it would be balanced out by the fact that at the same time, you'd have to consider per-time operating costs for your space program as a whole that would encourage you to continue to fly other missions to find ways to increase your budget surplus. Of course, that would require a functioning economy, which we don't have at the moment (in the stock game).
  6. The best route would probably be to contact them through official channels. You can find contact information for Squad here.
  7. My personal favorite is Minmus. Easy to get to, and the low gravity lets you pull off some rather crazy stunts if you've got the right setup.
  8. Honestly, the easiest options are probably either the Mun or Minmus, since both of them are in orbit around Kerbin and thus don't take (too much) finagling with things like "phase angles," "ejection angles," and things like that if you want to do it well. The Mun is slightly easier to reach but harder to land on, because it has higher gravity. Minmus is easier to land on and return from because of its size and low gravity, but its orbit isn't a perfect circle in line with Kerbin's equator, meaning you have to adjust your course a little more to actually get a good encounter with it. Let us know how it goes
  9. Might help if we had a screenshot of the craft in question so we could see what we're working with. That said, do you have any RCS thrusters actually pointed opposite the direction you want to thrust in? It might seem like a frivolous question, but it can be easy to forget little things like making sure everything's set up properly.
  10. Welcome to the forums! Rescue missions... we've all been down that road before I'm betting it's Jebediah, isn't it? He's always the one trying to do crazy things like that. Let us know how it goes. That being said, if you're stuck, feel free to ask questions here on the forums, or to take a look at some of the tutorials (especially the ones I've listed on the Drawing Board).
  11. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear that you've been enjoying yourself, and nice that you've already managed to do so much!
  12. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear that you've been enjoying the game. If you're looking for a good Mun rocket, might I recommend this design by Vanamonde, and the accompanying tutorial? That tutorial is complete enough that you can even use it as a guide with your own designs, if you choose to go that route. You might also want to check out some of the other tutorials on site, especially those I've listed in the Drawing Board. Feel free to ask questions in the Gameplay Questions subforum as well. Hope this helps!
  13. I've actually been doing some work on a similar project myself with another user. The best way to go about verifying your numbers is simply to run tests within the game itself, using mods that output telemetry data (like MechJeb, Logomatic and similar mods) to track your craft's progress for easy comparison to your projected path. If you want more information on the coding angle, I can try to get you in touch with the other fellow I've been working with.
  14. A happy ending to a sequence of harrowing events. Glad to see you managed to reach your destination despite all those setbacks.
  15. Agreed there; forgot to mention that Moho is slightly less-than-ideal for that sort of thing. Eve's large Sphere of Influence and surface gravity, as well as the fact that it's relatively easy to reach from Kerbin, should make setting up a gravity assist fairly easy, however.
  16. Most people use a public image-sharing service like Imgur or Photobucket, which require you to register a free account in order to upload images.
  17. Welcome to the forums! For the first part: Yes, for travel to the inner system, you want to burn so that you're heading retrograde relative to Kerbin's orbit around the sun. That will slow you down relative to the sun, putting you into a lower orbit. Gravity assists to get closer to the sun should be fully possible; it's really just a matter of timing and positioning on those. You might find this guide to be helpful in that area. Hope this helps!
  18. Welcome to the forums! Glad to see more members of the Media Group are getting active in the community.
  19. Welcome to the forums! Glad to see you've been enjoying the game so far. It's great to see how the game can bring people together to share what they've learned and experienced. Make yourself at home, and don't be afraid to ask questions or join discussions.
  20. Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you've been enjoying yourself. Let us know how progress goes on that mod.
  21. Seconding the above statement. Glad to see that the first manned missions have been successful and productive.
  22. Impressive work as always I'll have to take some time later to go over it with my usual fine-toothed comb, but the information itself appears to be in line with your usual high quality.
