Just a thought for you guys - why not include a factory that makes (or appears to make) rocket parts? I mean, a big, VAB-ish building with the doors open and a half-assembled fuel tank inside. Or something. -
Because I'm hyped up and waiting for SCIENCE I thought I would generate some random flavor text for SCIENCE-y stuff. Then I thought, why not Zoi- uhm, the community? Post your flavor text here! Be it for parts, SCIENCE stuff, planets, or whatever. Specimen Case/Module/Thing: A box that can be attached to your rocket and used to show various things (like plants) what space looks like close up. Communicotron 16 Hacked together from 2 tin cans and the wreckage of a previous rocket crash, this device is (hopefully) capable of transmitting data from your spacecraft back to Kerbin. Warranty void if exposed to vacuum.

Hmm... Idea. Construct a spaceplane capable of transporting a lander to LKO - and then have that lander payload fly to the Mun, plant a flag, and return home. But - when you return home, re-dock to the spaceplane and descend with that. Mission Plan: 1. Launch spaceplane with payload. 2. Undock payload in LKO, transfer to the Mun. 3. Land on the Mun, plant a flag, return to LKO. 4. Re-dock to the spaceplane. 5. Descend to Kerbin with the spaceplane.

Project FarPoint. After the disastrous Kraken Surge, the governments on Kerbin shut down all space exploration. Limited to very, very rare unmanned flights, the space programs of the world are fighting back now, with the FarPoint program. The mission is to consist of a partial "Mir" space station, refitted as a long-range mothership. It will carry 9 crew, 2 Soyuz-TMAs, and will set out to explore the Duna system. PROLOGUE - FIRST IN SPACE, AGAIN CapCom: ...final preflight checks complete. Soyuz TMA-1, stand by for final safety checklist and liftoff. We are at T-2 minutes and counting. Jeb: Finally! Back in the hot seat. Bob: Feels good, being the first in space, doesn't it? Bill: 'specially when it's the second time. CapCom: Final safety checklist. LES? Jeb: Go. CapCom: AutoEject? Bob: Go, flight. CapCom: descent parachutes? Bill: Go. CapCom: Final safety checklist complete. T-30 seconds. CapCom: T- 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, liftoff! KSC: Liftoff, we have liftoff of Soyuz TMA-1, carrying legendary Kerbonauts Jebediah, Bill, and Bob Kerman into orbit! FlightCon: Standby booster seperation. Jeb: Clean sep, FlightCon. FlightCon: Initiate pitch maneuver. Jeb: Assuming manual control. FlightCon: Negative, Soyuz. Jeb: Too late, flightCon. Sorry. Initiaiting gravity turn. FlightCon: Release control to the autopilot, Jeb. Bill: Let him fly. Bob: Or else. Jeb: Don't trust me, Gene? FlightCon: Not after that last plane test, no. Jeb: Sorry. I'll pay you back, I swear. FlightCon: Whatever. Standby second stage seperation. Bill: Clean sep, FlightCon. Jeb: Third stage ignition. Coasting to apoapsis. Bob: Ejecting shrouds and LES. FlightCon: Standby for insertion burn. Bill: Not a very good view from in here. Jeb: I'll let you go EVA when we reach orbit. Speaking of which. Bob: Stable orbit achieved. Gene, you owe me fifty kerbits. FlightCon: I do at that, Bob. Though you owe me twenty. Jeb did assume manual control. Bob: Fair enough. Third stage jettison. Deploying antennas. Jeb: Welcome to space, gentlemen. Bill: Good to be back. Bob: I missed you, zero gee. FlightCon: First second words recorded. Now, if you'll set up those sensors? Jeb: Already done, Gene. Now...Skrabble, anyone? TO BE CONTINUED. //Hi guys! This is my first real attempt at an AAR or story in KSP. Currently, I have no set plan for this series, I'l happily listen to suggestions from the community. Also, i'm using BobCat's Soviet modpack for this, but I'm open to other suggestions.
