Hi, Wow this is a new one I hope they find it; and this is why I use game saves in 'real missions' ... I have a ton of mods and have switched ships - for me it is usually just memory; you get to the end of the game memory useage; I have about 300+ megs gameplay which lasts about an hour. I also have to reload copies of my modded tree; just a minor inconvenience or 2 for an Alpha game (SIM!). Cmdr Zeta

Hello, Totally disagree with the OP - however yes people can play KSP like a game and it is a game for them at the end of the day - the thread is merely a stance on game and non-realism VS simulation and adding realism to add a fun factor AND a challenge factors; I tend to go with the latter as I have discovered this at the end of the day with Modders putting out great MODS and in essence is what is making this 'game' a 'simulation' for me at the end of the day; if it wasnt for the MODDERS I wouldnt be here. I see the KSP Devs are adding these things but want to keep some kind of game vs simulation to a minimum maybe. This is a Unity game and is free more or less anyone can write a game like this but have to buy licenses if they want to sell their product; this is a future of gaming allowing MODDERS to participate in gaming development. Now yes it is simplistic in certain graphical ways; but it is what's on the inside that counts; "...there's alot more going on here folks..." to quote a famous blind fellow ... It may be a game to some, and a simulation to others; I use food and water and oxygen if Kerbals run out they die SIM over; I like it that way. Greetings, You know yer hooked on KSP when you memorized the passwords ... I am having stream production problems both at home and with Twitch; they are being a real pain with music copyright so I am trying to get definitive answers and tryin to explain to them new creative commons policies under Youtube. I am gonna work on my own music anyways soon so they cant say crap but even still I read they are using a program called Magic Audio or something to find the copyrighted music and are flagging people who have not violated any of these terms; some of my music may have been recently flagged on Youtube so I lost more streams again. Many people are complaining and having issues. I am finding solutions to my own problems and trying to find common grounds here. I play background music which is very similar all across the web and even radio stations so this copyright crap is bull sometimes; nevertheless we have to be more careful and I am working with them to resolve my own issues. My stream production is at a temporary halt I will be back as soon as I can but it may be a week or more. Cmdr Zeta -

Hello, Whoa there's a KSP flowchart? My Kerbal Space Engineers did not inform me of this; probly cause they didnt get the memo I know I sent one; argh...space kraken again? Well after the first 3 months of intelligence reports and simulations I graduated sandbox some distant muns ago; after a year or so of pluging in things still change and we adapt. Now I am testing a new contract tonite on live stream I never tried before (thats why it is a simulation); I always 'SIM' first before letting my fellow Kerbals at it. We are all partially qualified and my live streams try to be as instructional as possible and the learning process is always there for us to take on the shallange... Also...Malcolm turned up - you didnt lose him - I dont know what we are gonna do with him he keeps blabbin about 'tuna' and sandwiches...wait maybe he wants to go to Duna?! Cmdr Zeta -

Hi, I tried Asteroid Cities and messed up my game royal just to let you all know so I dont mess anything with asteroids. I really like this idea and I am looking into this - I may set this up to run on my next roleplay adding more realism and difficulty but I want to be so careful not to ruin my fun factor gameplay; either way this will be fun to check out and kudos to all the work done here - WOW ! HI, Agree with last post - well probly every post in here. I just added a post to that thread and I did look at some engine someone built - didnt know if it was his so I was like that is kool I hope he develops it; and develops it more; well we have nuke stuff now and little parts that produce lots of stuff; so there is ingenuity there too. I am into the roleplay and Science/Contracts stuff so I dont have much time yet to use up funds on new designs - YET ! I have 2 mil in the bank and 1500 Science in the bank which will net me 3 500Sci nodes; it takes alot of work to produce something new; it is a shame I wont see it now but I tell ya I wont be jumping off a bridge any time soon cause someone didnt finish their project - I am so guilty of same and procastinate it is awful and need to manage my time better I play KSP so much; only because I dont play KSP as a game but roleplay it as a SIM with a limited number of real life characters. Now I am trying to integrate these new ideas into my roleplay but cant do it if people like you start and bug out - argghhh ! I am guilty of that too I know the feeling; you try so hard to fix things in the game; I spent a week almost 24-7 and developed health problems I was seeing rockets spin in my head at night !! UGH !! We just need to limit our computer time and do those different things in life; that is what makes everything else so kool; now find a way to feed plant life into that engine so it can produce karbonite - or maybe use karbonite as an alloy for the high temp parts - I dunno I dont have that kind of imagination - you do - sad it is gonna go bye bye ... HI, What does plants have to do with mechanical engines?! I like biophysics too, especially the micro kind off of old rocks I have yet to grow plants from their spores ! And ya one could probly make an engine in KSP that runs off of plant food !! I would buy it ! Could I design it; dunno but I did catch that vid of that engine...neat! Cmdr Zeta -
Hi, That's the problem - some think that it is 'just a game' and there is only one way to play it ! There a many different ways to play KSP and I think that would be a good marketing tool; I didnt exactly convince anyone I know of yet but in my streams I have viewers ask about it and I tell them about the different ways to play it; like mech warriors idea (which I am planning to incorprate in my current roleplay stream); making it a turn based active roleplay; I saw one streamer doing this although he didnt turn-base it; I was like wow yet another way to play KSP ! I think I may have had one viewer planning to get it so far; especially since I 'highly' recommend the game; not over other games though; just as it stands; and the fact that people can add MODS to it; lol I could rant ! Hi, Also the thing is to find a happy medium where the game doesnt get tedious but still requires a little grind and leaves room for mistakes; youmay end up with no Science or funds to do either depending on how you work the Tech Tree. I also see the contracts bring up experiemental parts; at first I thought you had to research the node before you could test the part so in one instance I researched the node and didnt know; basically lost 100 Science; so you could in effect require yourself to research the entire node prior to doing the contract in which the experimental part is in; that is how I thought the Contracts worked; and in my next game restart I plan on doing just that ! (Wow I looked at that BTSM-mod (and deadly re-entry) - this looks really interesting especially the Solar panals changes) It made for a totally different game I was used to (!); I still streamlined all my parts ! Hi, Use Tree Loader - It seems as tho I play 'Ironman' mode with no cre respawn, no quicksave unless game problem, and no revert - BUT with the added challenge of increased Science cost in the Tech Tree. IE vertical line nodes cost go up dramatically - 100-150-250-500-750-1000 in the upper node lines... the contracts are making up for the Science - so far it has been a very good challenge for me. I also moved the engines and parts around to give even more challenge in the beginning, and changed a few Science parts to make it more 'survivable'. The plane stuff costs were actually lowered a tad to make it more lucrative. I stream almost every nite if you have questions on the tree pop in ! Cmdr Zeta -

Hello, I will be streamin for a bit momentarily - v24.2 is working so far but has laggy glitches on occasoion; its kinda wierd but I am able to recover just quitting the mission without going back into the game. I also guess Ironman mode harr is no Kerbal respawn, no revert, and no quicksave - well I quicksave if there are game issues like for one when the Kerbalnaut comes flying out of his hatch and it causes a major problem for me - so far that hasnt happened. Today I am runnin contracts and checkin on my Kerbalnaut around Mun. Cmdr Zeta
