  1. Dropped Jeb in a truck onto the North Pole. Just cuz.
  2. I'm pretty sure he meant that the thick atmosphere means terminal velocity would be much lower than on Kerbin at any given altitude, meaning you would be unable to run them at full power, rendering their high TWR useless. Better to go with a more efficient engine.
  3. I rarely reuse craft, actually. I wanna go to the mun, I design something grom the ground up and fling it in that direction. Wanna go to minmus? Start over and make something totally different. Back to the mun? Maybe I feel like landing in a different manner, which usually involves a completely new design. That's part of the fun to me.
  4. You land on Laythe, only to find you left a RCS thruster between the capsule door and the ladder... Edit: Also, when you spend a lot of time getting a rover onto Duna, only to land and realize you used solar panels that have to be deployed. You know, the ones that hate atmospheres... Done that many times :/
  5. If you want to go somewhere, you have to thrust in a completely different direction than expected.
  6. 1,131... Holy crap, when did that happen?
  7. Now that looks like something worth seeing! I mission must be scheduled...
  8. It's single player, customize it however you need to in order to extract the maximum enjoyment from it.
  9. Sounds like you need to ditch the lady so you don't have to deal with the distraction of parties. The space program is all you need.
  10. This. I lost every flight I made when I started because I didn't understand what this did for a while >.>
  11. I had a base by one of these in .19, it was the only anomaly I discovered until .20, when I found the Armstrong monument.
  12. I went basic after being unhappy with the results of a more detailed flag.
  13. With a new save for .20, I made some simple rules to follow that I read somewhere a while ago. Before any manned mission to another body, a rover must be operated on it's surface. Before a rover can be sent, a satellite must be in orbit. I haven't played much since the update, but after conquering the Mun, today I placed a satellite in orbit around Minmus. Maybe tomorrow I can get a rover there to do a bit of goofing around.
  14. More publicity means more incoming players, good and bad. I'm part of the Steam crowd, but I've been loving the challenges here. My favorite thing is docking, be it landers to ships or sections of space stations. Not all incoming players are bad news...
  15. I put sections of my Munbase in a large frame on wheels to move into position... I think that technically counts as a rover >.> Just land the thing on the wheels, drive to position, lower legs, disconnect via radial decoupler, drive the frame a safe distance and fly the frame away with the command drone stuck somewhere on top.
  16. Just fyi, you can click on your speed readout above the navball to manually toggle between surface and orbit.
  17. I have 551 hours on Empire: Total War, but I have been known to often leave it running when sleeping or at work. Kerbal has 214 hours, and those are mostly all actually sitting there, playing.
  18. We need large glass parts so we can build rooms and stuff. Put up some glass walls, stick a ceiling on there and you got a neat room.
  19. I took a manned lander all the way to Laythe some time ago, only to land and realize I had something blocking the ladder down. They couldn't set foot on it :/
  20. First thing I did was delete local files and reinstall due to no parts loading. Eh... I guess I should design a flag now.
  21. Hardest thing for me so far has been getting onto Moho.
  22. I would love to just move stuff to a decaying orbit, but the physics don't work for that unless you are focused on that particular debris. I did that once, and it took forever for the thing to finally come down, with me not able to do anything else the whole time.
